Why the fuck are you still saying "hella". That isn't amusing and it's annoying. I know there are some (maybe more than some) people that agree with me.

Any skit Tim & Eric have produced, even including their even lower budget pre-AS days, is better than the best Frank Caliendo skit. This is empirical truth certified by science and ordained by God himself.

Fair enough. That's why I put Caliendo at the absolute bottom. I was arguing that the idea that Tim & Eric are somehow similar to that level of pure abomination is not only absurd but violates the very laws of man and nature.

The show's ratings were hot stinking ass. [as] should've have even picked it up, the minute I saw CLAMP I was like "This won't end well..."

Moribito:GoTS was a kneejerk reaction because the show's pacing is so slow in the beginnig eps. apparently and they couldn't wait. Now that I'll give them heat for.
 
I admit that I'm in the Tim and Eric camp. I initially found out about them when they were just an internet sensation through a link on Bob and David's website.

The show is simply an experiment for me. It is hit or miss, and I tune into it fully knowing that I may be completely and utterly disappointed. Though when it hits, it hits hard. I like the fact that Tim and Eric go out on a limb with every single sketch. I don't think there's anything nearly as unique as this to experience on television.

Regardless, anything with Bob Odenkirk can't be bad. :P

The Venture Brothers is the best show on Adult Swim. Stroker and Hoop is actually pretty funny too, but I never hear anyone talk about it.

They need to bring back Futurama and get rid of American Dad.

Stroker and Hoop was hilarious. There were a few weak episodes, but overall I love it.

You, uh... you do know it's dead, right? Only 13 episodes and we aren't getting any more, ever.
 
I've never seen Tim & Eric, but judged by the clips linked to in the thread I'm gonna say right now I'm ordering their dvd's. This shit is funny as hell people! I can certainly see why people dislike it though. Personally I love stuff like this, it's nice and surreal with an awesome low-budget look. It felt like JAM to me and that's high praise indeed.

Yeah that seems weird. I love Venture Bros. as well. I'll hold off my judgment on T&E untill I get the dvd in (turns out only season 1 is available right now, so I got Tom goes to the Mayor as well).

I guess we have a broader sense of humour :)

Modern art is by and large terrible. Tim & Eric skits (barring this fairly disappointing new season) are hilarious.

The best part is the intimation that because a certain kind of humor doesn't connect with someone, say "you", the assumed appropriate response is that anyone it does happen to subjectively connect with is just trying to "look cool" and pretend that something inherently unfunny is really funny.

It's not McSweeney's, dude.

T&E is the greatest absurdist anti-humor on the market. I can understand people hating it, a lot of people hate what they dont understand.

I hate Tom Goes to the Mayor like no other, even seeing just a bit of it makes me want to hurt people.

Tim & Eric I've only seen part of one episode so I can't really judge it.

I'm a veteran Adult Swim watcher and love/can watch most everything else.
 
Live-action anything on Cartoon Network is retarded. Adult Swim shouldn't have live-action shows. Everything should be animated. Bring back Spacelab and Inuyasha. Anything but the shlock they're playing these days. PEACE.
 
Tim & Eric is extremely awesome. Tom Goes to the Mayor is even better. Everyone who is like "no, I get it, it's just not funny" is probably wrong, and most likely doesn't actually get it.

This. A lot of people don't really get the source material that they're parodying, and don't realize that some of the sketches are not suppose to make you laugh, but make the viewer uncomfortable. It's not that it's so sophicated some people don't understand, it just might not be their thing.

I think the main reason for the hate is because they watched five minutes of it and had no idea what's going on. The best way to enjoy it is to try to watch it with a clean slate after a couple of beers. I recommend watching the episode SPORTS, that's the one that got me hooked.

Tim and Eric is only one of the problems with AS at the moment. Pretty much everything they've showed for the past year has been crap outside of Venture Bros. They fucked with their schedule so many times that it's impossible to keep things straight, their advertisements are just awful/non-existent for new shows, all around the time slot is circling the drain.

I think Frisky Dingo season 3 is on hold while they work on the Xtacles series. And yes, Lucy DOTD is awesome. The portrayal of Satan is brilliant.
