Bungie should put a slot machine in the Tower for all those suffering from cave withdrawl. Feed in some glimmer, possibly get a legendary engram or good mats. At least I'd have something to spend it on.

Just axe the Iron Banner shit and make the Destiny equivalent of the Gold Saucer casino.

Head left, from the spawn on Venus.
There are several caves near where all the Fallen spawn.

It's pretty random. I once found a legendary engram in a random chest on the Moon.
Legendary I got some too... to be fair I got more than I expected... I was more talking about this material quantity... I need to open ~10 chests to get 16 materials to level up my gear while with 6 in a chest makes it way faster.

If they increased the quantity of materials I see that in a good way ;)

Umm, did you just ignore the second part of my post? I just spelled out the clear difference between the two things right there and you just cut it off.

I didn't cut anything off. It's right there.

Edit: just added you to my ignore list. So I guess you get to say whatever you want. I guess I'll just do the same for anyone trying to convince me that a developer not thinking things through fully = me cheating.

I should use a bot or something for when I face bosses, cover - shoot - cover - shoot. repeat for 20 mins and it should be done. meanwhile I take a shower

Usually sometime after 7PM CST, but sometimes much later around 1AM. Last week I really tried to bring friends of mine along, but I think they have all basically quit playing now.

Yea I joined you but was lvl 26 and it ended up playing till 3 am...my brain was like sleep. But am 27 now and will have better weapons by this weekend. Should definitely be more of a help I think.

Can someone who is 28 or close to tell me how long it's gonna take me to get to 28? If I continue to upgrade my armors will I hit 28?

Yes, you can get to 28 with your current gears; but I'd say it's a waste of your time and materials. I will want to replace one piece of your current armor with an exotic (buy something from Xur tomorrow) and focus on upgrading that piece of exotic. Eventually you will replace all of your current purples with raid gears.

wait

did drops go up for anyone else?

i just got 4 engrams from running restoration (3 green, 1 blue) and i'm like... i ran this 5+ times in the last two days and never got shit

Guys stop posting this. This is how RNG works. You get nothing and then you get something.

Whelp, after reading the dev notes bungie just released about taking the shards away from queens armor, reducing the cave loot, reducing AR and telling me in playing the game wrong this is going to be traded in to gamestop on Tuesday for Shadow of Mordor. I am so irked at them. This isa game about do what you want but only as long as you do it Bungie way. Ugh.

Exactly my issues with it as well. I feel like my dang hands are tied with everything I do in this game!

It also feels bordeline deceitful, when you think about how Bungie was presenting this game to us. I still remember one of the E3 demos when they threw a Grenade out and said "this is alll playable space". I was reminded of that yesterday when I went out to get a chest loot on the moon that was out in the dead zone...Bungie plz

I'm a bit LTTP, but what good are the Queen bounties if I can't destroy the shit she gaves for ass shards?

I'm sorry but I'm not going to change my fully upgraded gear for whatever she gives me.

Now I can just ignore that event.

You know what's more fun? Shooting bigger versions of Hydras, Fallen, Servitors, and Ogres in face for 15 minutes and getting absolutely nothing out of it. It doesn't have to be "fun" only more "fun" than the alternative. Which it was.
If the missions aren't fun then why grind for the gear needed to play more missions?

If the gear is for PvP instead of missions, why not just play PvP and acquire gear that way?

Honestly trying to understand a phenomena I've seen in several loot based games. For the most efficient loot farmers the games themselves are always considered boring grinds, but people will go to great lengths to circumvent or rush past the game's challenges and obstacles in order to get the gear when that gear only exists to tackle the game's challenges and obstacles.

You need 9 more light and have 9 upgrades for light on your equipment (2 can be done immediately without ascended materials so you really only need 5 light).

You need 12 Ascended shards to do this on one piece of Equipment. Removing the RNG elements to the process (Dailies [public & Heroic] & Nightfall) you can buy 6 pieces of Legendary Armor (@65 Marks) every 2 Mark resets and break them down for 18 Ascended Shards (but you will only need to buy 4). Assuming you already wiped your Marks this week, you should be able to have this done on October 7th if you grind out 200 (100 from each faction) Marks on that day...

I got two legendary engrams in the past hour, one on a strike and the other on patrol. Overall I'm getting a ton more engrams now. Pretty happy.

We need a poker table in the tower that we can bet glimmer on. Exotic prize tournaments on the weekends. Add that and I won't leave the tower again.

Haha that's really ridiculous.

...and perfect.

It's really weird that there's nothing like a shooting range, especially when it's your main place of obtaining guns but have no way to test or tweak the upgrades.

But yeah, you can do nothing but awkwardly headbutt some laggy ass ball. It was fun in the beta to just see random dance lobbies but that only stays fun for a short amount of time.

The ball is the most exciting part of the tower. A ball. :(

What I put

What's the difference? Bungie intended and still intends for it to be the easiest way to actually get legendary gear.

Now Bungie may or may not have initially intended for it to be used to level up legendary gear so fast, but unlike the former, they definitely don't intend for people to do it now since they took it away.

What am I projecting? Them killing it off is telling players "Don't do that". If they want people to stop cave farming, they should start introducing more rewarding ways to earn loot. I was doing that with the Queen's Wrath orders, but they made that 100% useless now as well. It may as well not exist now.

"More rewarding." That's the key right? If Bungie wants people to stop taking the easiest path.. they have to make the average path give much better rewards.

Nah. I'd rather there be effort required and a pace to progression than appeasing the segment of the playerbase that wants everything now.

To extend your argument further, one might say Bungie really should make it so you can just stand in one spot and shoot guys that respawn anywhere you want. Who is Bungie to say where you can and can't farm the game's rewards? It's almost like they designed the game to be played in a certain way.

And they didn't "chide" anyone in patching it up. It was an exploit. People tend to take advantage of them. It's understandable that people would in a loot game. It's even understandable to be upset when the exploit is patched, since getting the loot is now (intentionally) more difficult. But no, I don't think closing something like this constitutes chiding the player base, especially when they go about it in a self-depreciating way. It constitutes acknowledging a flaw in the game and fixing it.

Disappointed by these patches. The cave was a nice way to soak up XP and level up an alt. God knows I'm not trying to play the campaign again.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the changes Bungie is/will be making. I'm a bit bummed about them nuking the shards from the Queen's stuff but I'd still like the ship and rep for the shaders son I'll keep on trucking.

Love that they want to bring up some of the lackluster exotics and give my favorite gun, the scout rifle, some love.

Also really glad we will see an improvement to rewards for activities. I really enjoy strikes and all that but doing it from a rewards standpoint was pretty useless.

I dunno, I don't see a lot to be upset about personally. I have avenues to get gear and even shards via rep/marks. It may take a bit more effort, but I can still push my character to 29 without much difficulty. My biggest obstacle is Xur stocking an exotic piece I actually want.

I'd rather they make playspaces that feel more rewarding for your time. How long does Bungie think it should take me to get the 30 ascendant shards I need to max out my current armor set?

I guess I'm extremely confused on the direction Bungie is taking here and it is concerning for the future. My thought process for the Queen's stuff was either A. you got a legendary you needed or B. if you already had a legendary, you got materials you needed. This is a pretty traditional game mechanic. You can either get better gear, more mats, money, etc etc.

So if we remove B.... what is the point of doing the missions if you already have gear? I mean, it already is an awkward position for people who have been working towards legendaries to have all their game time thrown out the window to people who can do a mission with a guaranteed bonus... But now they've effectively made this 'event' pointless for people that are already geared. You can't trade the gear. You can't get mats that are actually needed from the gear. What is the point if you already have good gear?

I just don't understand the game plan on this at all. It would seem they're saying 'you can play towards gaining stuff yourself... or just wait for an event that will do it faster and not benefit you if you're already geared'.

Blimey. I just submitted a grief report instead. I don't need to be harassed.

its terrible but usually straight faced implication of mental or social disability shuts that shit down with supreme consistency

I'm cold enough to stop fuckin Ventrilo spammers in their tracks. If thats how you interact with people who can blame me for the conclusions I appear to come to.

It's probably the worst thing I do in my daily life but that kinda dumb shit grinds my gears. Yall can hate me now

Got a bug in PvP where we have A, they have B&C, but the game says they have all 3 points and are getting the bonus points for kills with all three....

Yeah, Queen's Event lost any purpose it initially had.

Jup. I am pretty pissed right now. I will never reach 28. I dont get fucking legendary engrams at all and if I get this shit they turn out blue . I dont have a primary or a heavy that is legend but 1 exotic and 3 legendary secondarys. So gay.
