What? I think it looks fine, its fully embracing the comic style. What do you people want?
Griddy, brownish WW2 Call of Korra?

Sorry Chariot but I have to go on a rant now.

First off, why would Legend of Korra fans be upset that a Legend of Korra game has Legend of Korra style graphics?

Well anyway, i'm not for sure you were suggesting the following, but I come across TOO many people who think just because something is cartoony and cell shaded means that graphical fidelity is irrelevant. It blows my mind. I'll go on video for this game (and it hasn't only happened with this game) and someone will say "The graphics are bad" Then a ton of people will be responding with crap like "WELL, Legend of Korra is cartoony and it's obviously taking on that style! If you want something hyperrealistic than go play COD!!!1!" And it will get so many likes and i'm just like r u jk. I see this on forums too, although much less so. Cartoony/Cell shaded artstyles doesn't make graphical fidelity irrelevant. I mean just look at the game and compare it to the show and you can see that it looks wayyy worse, but yet it's the same artstyle.

Like, the show has way better graphics than the game, but that doesn't mean that the show's graphics are "hyperrealistic, COD, gritty WW2" style. I hear this same stuff with the Ratchet and Clank games with people saying stuff like "well how can the graphics get better without looking too much like COD" and it has me like

Let it all out, man.

Is anyone shipping Kovira yet?
Turns out love conquers all even Kuvira the Konqueror.

Well if you don't like Platinum's games in general then reviews would probably be irrelevant for you considering the Platinum games that didn't do it for you were probably reviewed well.

I've never played any of their games before, but I always hear good things about them so I was very excited when they picked it up instead of some random no name company.

Even if the game turns out to be 100% recycled animations from Bayonetta with LoK graphics slapped over it...it'll still be based on one of the best games in the genre and ten times better than the piece of crap Avatar games we got before.

At $15 that's a no-brainer for me.

So basically around 4 hours main story and another 2 for Pro-Bending Tournament which becomes available after you complete the single player I'm assuming.

Sounds like it

I think the one only downside to The Legend of Korra game is that it's going to be four hours long for an average playthrough. Of course you can do replays and go for 100% completion, but as a giant fan of the cartoon series, I wish there was going to be more.

I hope they are doing filler episodes. I need some those insomnia and Ember Island Players recaps.

I wish they did in this show, would benefit the characters a lot if they did those episodes well. Now it is a bit too late to start doing them. And they again need to fit an arc into one season.

Suki's face here is giving me nightmares.

Yeah, gameplay is essential. It's confirmed that the story is canon, by the way?

Yep the story is canon and fills in what happened between Books 2 and 3.

Platinum is doing a fantastic job with the development. Tim Hedrick, series writer, is writing the game and cooked up the story and villain with Mike and me. And our buddies at Titmouse are animating the cut scenes, one of which you can see in the trailer in this link––very cool stuff.

Really OT but I just realised something. Maybe this was obvious to everyone else... but you know that episode The Headband about Aang throwing a dance party for Fire Nation kids who were forbidden from dancing?

Opposite of Head = Foot.

Opposite of Band/Bound = Loose.

Headband = Footloose.

WELL, not that my opinion matters...

But I'm of two minds with the game. For me, I keep in mind that I. It's a digital title (so it doesn't have the full production money/time as a major title). II. It's Platinum (and I love their combat/gameplay).

The art style itself is fine, it looks decent enough to the shows style. But I also kind of think it looks strange. I can't put my finger on it, but it looks kind of cheap when in motion. But again, keeping in mind it's a downloadable title...

Really, if the gameplay is smooth and responsive, then I can put up with any flaws given the price of the game. That's how I look at it. But I'm not putting too much on the game either. I've already went into it, believing the game will just be a burst of awesomeness (and not being anywhere close to a full production game).

SPOILER TALK:

Edit: nevermind, I figured it out. Was wondering about this scene: http://youtu.be/NCEFMY4TWGw?t=55s But it looks like they just edit the trailer weird. They have Korra throw water up, but the camera pans to Bolin and electricity comes down on him and explodes. I think the Bolin scene is different, and it was the mech that shot electricity at him, and then came down to attack him. The editing makes it look like Korra threw the electricity, not sure why.

SPOILER TALK:

I've been re-watching the trailer. There is a scene where Korra is in the swamp (55 seconds in). She throws water at someone and it turns into electricity and then explodes. The person jumps out of the way. That person..is Bolin in his metal clan military uniform. WTF. Why is she trying to hurt Bolin? A mech does drop down after Bolin rolls out of the way. I re-watched over and over, and the Mech is not what she hits first. The mech drops down after she throws the water where Bolin is standing.

EDIT: It might be just editing. When the camera pans to Bolin it looks like it's just lightning. Kind of a weird edit, to make it look Korra is arcing her water in the same shot though. Hmmm Yeah I think it's the mech attacking Bolin actually, and it shoots electricity at him before coming down. TRICKY trailer editing. This is why you can't take anything in it 100% :P
Uhhh, yeah I was about to say before you edited lol. Tripped me out first time seeing it though.

I wonder why the edit though. It's such a quick moment, that it's not like it sells people on something that isn't happening. I only noticed it because I was combing through things. What I mean is, it doesn't even make sense on a deception level (sometimes trailers like to deceive). I mean, it's clearly an edit on purpose (as they have her water arch in the exact same way the electricity comes down). I guess it does flow (in an action sense), probably why they did it.

Well, that's pretty much it. I didn't see much else in the trailer on re-watches.

I'm honestly wondering what people are expecting from the game. I think outside of DMC 3 Platinum has made the best action games ever. With all that said, this is a budget game for 15$ and like I said before it looks competent.

We will probably never get a game Avatar game that looks anywhere near as good as the Naruto games or even some of the older DBZ games. Because a lot of time the company working on those are big fans of the series.
