I just found out that Raid Gear gives more light than Legendary, WHAT? I destroyed the boots I got to farm the ass shards and upgrade my current gear.

WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL US THE GEAR WAS UNIQUE?

FUCK!

I upgraded my Suros and hate it now, for PvP. For PvE it's wonderful. Which means, of course, I want a second.

That being said, I have a Shingen-E with a stability modifier (so the bar is MAXED now for stability) and a perk that extends it's range while ADS. It's a beautiful, beautiful weapon.

I picked up a Vanquisher VIII last night to try it out, though. Small ammo clip, so it's complete garbage for PvE..well, not complete, but not as good, but it's stability and ROF + impact is amazing. I have high hopes for PvP.

Especially as it synergizes so well with increased damage with bottom half of the clip given such a small clip.

maybe I am doing something wrong but I get instant killed by blade dancers and just about any other super inside my bubble, even with the massive reduced damage modifier.

You can still die for sure if you're not fast enough, but with the increased resistance to all damage perk on the bubble you should be able to out-melee the average blade dancer, I've done it a few times. No idea if I just got super-lucky or not though :D

...?

When you look at the gear, you can see higher armor values after the slash that indicates the max armor value than your normal gear?

Isn't the Vanquisher VIII just an all around better version of Shadow Price, only loses a little range and gains stability and reload speed as well as having a stability mod you can get on it while the Shadow Price does not. The other stats are the same. I can't discern any reason to pick the Shadow Price over Vanquisher from new monarchy.

Good point, I'll make a mental note to check that one out too, I do have enough New Monarchy stats to purchase it as well. I might do a comparison post tonight so we can get some more input on these choices.

The Shadow Price I have has Perfect Balance.

I just went on destinyDB, and now how piss lucky I am for having mine drop the way it did.

Also, depending on where you are with marks and rep, it might just be easier to get the Shadow Price.

Agility is so intoxicating. I've seen some others stating that they don't see a difference with it, but I love min-maxing for agility and using one of my two Shadow Prices (got one from a drop and one from hitting rank 3 with Vanguard) that give a "2 point bonus" to agility. It feels like putting the game in hyper mode and inputs just feel more... seamless.

If Hunters get nerfed hard enough I may just roll one as a secondary character.

Why would hunters get nerfed? I say warlocks need something adjusted - the class with the most shenanigans lol.

So, I'm doing the exotic bounty for the Thorn hand cannon. Overall, it's not a bad bounty but, the crucible part is not fun at all. It forces me to play a way I'm not comfortable playing (I prefer striker to defender as a Titan) and forces me to use weapons I don't want to use just because I need void damage...namely fusion rifles...

I almost threw the bounty out when I saw the crucible part. I'm just going to plow through it as quick as possible now though. I'm over half done after a weekend.

I kind of feel bad for the other people on my team as I'm not helping to win and really can't if I want the bounty. All I can care about is getting the kill and not dying since it counts against you. I'm trying to counter that by playing only DM and TDM so I'm at least somewhat useful.

The game is fantastic but, some of the decisions they've made baffle me as to what the intention of them was meant to be (such as legendary engrams and screwy bounties).

Clip size, maybe. I dunno about the Shadow Price, but the Vanquisher is TINY. Otherwise, yeah, the Vanquisher seemed better.

STORE / "BASELINE" variant wise, anyways.

The game doesn't do a good job of giving out details for sure. But it's been posted a ton here and elsewhere that the only way to get to 30 is with all raid gear and one exotic in the armor slots and all fully upgraded.

Best place for Fallen majors... Please advise.

I usually do this on the Moon patrol. Just left of where you start, inside the building, there's a spawn that has a Servitor and one major Vandal. Sometimes there is a second major Vandal just outside the building. I'll kill those guys, then go out a ways and check the caves and stuff nearby for chests & mission objectives, then circle back and kill them again (they spawn very quickly). Seems a little faster to me than the Venus location with the major Captain just outside the entrance of the Winter's Run (the Venus strike).

What would be the point of the raid if it didn't offer the best gear? I guess they should tell you, but yea.

Well there have been 7 Vanquishers before the 8th, while the Shadow Price is unique. So there you go, reason enough to get Shadow Price.

defense was higher, how I'm I supposed to know the light was also higher?

Besides the boots I have boost Int. and Dis. those boosted Int. only and the defense was only 20 points better IIRC, not worth it.

At least they should color it differently :(

They did... We knew about all of this before the game released. Sorry for your loss :(

I got a shadow price with the "larger magazine" upgrade. Increases size from 25 to 42.

I also have "increase reload speed after a kill" and "after a precision kill reload for a boost in damage and reload speed".

Let's just say it is a fucking beast now.

I was going to DE my first raid gear too, but then I noticed how its talents were far more general than legendaries you can buy.

Think about it. The Warlock raid boots give you more Heavy Ammo in general as opposed to only giving more Rocket Ammo.

The Warlock raid chestpiece gives more ammo for Auto Rifles and Special Weapons. My previous Chestpiece gave more ammo to Auto Rifles and only Sniper Rifles. There was a clear distinction. Also, you can see how the defense stat for raid gear is higher than normal legendary gear.

Haha that was a cakewalk compared to xyor for me. I may be doing a run tonight if you need a group look me up psn (ps4) gatti-man. Xyor is a bitch if you dont have high level friends.

Defense upgrades = light.
It can therefore be inferred that higher defense = higher light given the same slot (boots) is being filled.

You can't get to 30 unless you have all raid gear or 3 raid gear and 1 exotic.

You can also go down to the entrance of the hell mouth(?) right behind the dome building there and knock off two yellow Knights pretty quick. By the time you go up and kill the stuff in the building you're referring to the knights will be back.

Best place for Fallen majors... Please advise.

I go to the rocket yards, just before the entrance to the Devil's Lair there is a spot with 4 Hive on the left, and up to the right is a spawn that alternates between 2 major vandals/normal vandals and a servitor, you just run back and forth killing the 2 groups, by the time you kill 1 the other's respawned.

I keep hearing about the nerf to the auto rifle but don't see anything in the patch notes. Is it actually happening?

As a scout/pulse user this pleases me if it's true.

My man. That sounds sick. Mine has perfect balance, reload speed after kill, and reload speed after getting a kill with the last bullet.

For people who don't have any immediate plan to do the Raid on Hard mode yet are Level 28, there is no reason to fully upgrade weapons to 300 Attack, correct?

Me at 28 versus an enemy at 28, I will deal the same damage to him if my weapon is at 300 Attack compared to 267 Attack, correct?

Only the higher Attack matters if I am going up against Level 29 enemies and above.

I have a fully upgraded Thorn and had 1000+ damage crits on level 24 Cabal Legionnaires last night. Before I did the final damage upgrade I don't remember it going past triple digits.

I am a Titan, can you explain why I should use defender over striker class?

Striker's super, grenades, and melee attacks all deal arc damage. If you use defender the sticky grenades and your melee punch are void damage, so they count toward the bounty kills.

Damn, dropped Shadow Price's are amazing, you guys got lucky. I'd love to get a drop like that.

It will happen soon. But not this patch.
AR nerf
Shotgun nerf
Bad Juju buff (pulse rifle)
Thorn buff (hand cannon)

These adjustments may come in separate patches.

It was listed in a blog post about future patches, but not in the preview notes so I suspect it will be in a following patch. Was also mentioned that scout rifles would get buffed, shotguns nerfed (which seems like it will cement them as forever useless in PvE) and some exotic weapon buffs (only Thorn and Bad Juju were mentioned by name).

I need help with those hunter jumps. I recently played VOG Raid and had triple jump active. I was really struggling with all those jumping sections (Gorgon Chest #1 and the puzzle).
Any advice which is best for the Raid?

Do you inspect new gear when you acquire it? You can clearly see the defense rating goes higher than any legendary you've seen so far. The defense max on raid gear equals that of exotics in each category.

Not really sure I agree it's the game's fault for not telling you it's unique when the stat is right in your face

This would be appreciated. I was putting in all my efforts to go after this gun before Xur this weekend and his Suros. Now I want a trusty back up legendary. Have Atheon's epilogue, but honestly outside of void burn that gun is pretty terrible.

(for the new page)

I stay on the Hellmouth side of the moon. Work all corners looking for chests and individual loot locations. Those chests seriously pop in some discreet locations. Just keeping working that whole side up and down. Check all crevices and caves.

While they are nerfing, buff us Titans thanks Bungie.

Damn so the Shadow Price is better than the Doctor Nope? I finally got to vanguard 3 yesterday and bought the Nope over the Shadow price because it had a stability upgrade and the radar perk. Guess I need to grind out another 150 vanguard marks...

Holy crap, a fully upgraded Thorn is probably the best handcannon to bring into PvP. It really starts out as a mediocre weapon, but with the stability upgrade and piercing rounds it's a beast. It's the only hand cannon so far that I've tried that can take down a player with only 3 body shots. The small amount of health that is usually left after those 3 shots will be taken care of with the piercing rounds. They tick 7 damage each, and at a high pace at that. The high stability and rate of fire combined with piercing rounds makes it very enjoyable to kill people with this weapon.

This needs no buff in PvP imo. But in PvE it could use an increase in ammo and perhaps a slightly faster reload speed.

You guys think the problem with the Loot is unlike borderlands or diablo 3, their engine requires a very exact realistic looking model of the weapon and this the art team is strained to keep creation new loot? I just don't understand how they can't have at least more cool / unique looking loot that adds some cool effects to your char and how they look.

My Shadow Price has an upgrade for maximum stability and almost max rate of fire. Not sure how many versions of the gun are available. Mine was a drop. Reload speed is fairly close to max too.
