Looks like I was right about that guy being the Earth Kingdom heir :P Wooot, points for me. And everbody else who thought of it.

I already can't wait for Woo to get his ass kicked.

But that "superhuman" line totally wasn't random, was it...?

Random guess:
That one scene with Varrik in the trailer with those canisters behind him? Totally going to give people bending powers.

For a price, of course.

All's fair in love and war.

New Jinora is barf. Kai not gonna want none of that.
Wait...
Bolin separated from Pabu?

The opening scene of episode 1 has been uploaded.

Prince Woo is gonna be evil as fuuuuuuuck

So much has changed
and nice to see they are showing off more of how they integrated with the spirits. Nice to see hobo guy made some new friends.
Asami looks great as usual.
So he is a prince, ha I got that one wrong still looks like he would be a crummy leader at this point.

I will say
Prince Woo/Wu's animation looks slightly out of place in that scene.
. I'm not sure if others would agree,
or if it's the characterisation that sets him apart.

He looks way too cartoonish honestly, his head is slightly bigger and he looks like a caricature. He probably would have fit better in the original series, but in this one he's kind of out of place.

Wait, this is supposed to be the opening scene?

Hmm, from what that trailer has suggested, we can expect quite a few flashbacks.

That's what I was thinking. Looks like that first clip from Book 4 was actually a flashback, and we'll get most of Korra's story of what happened after Book 3 through them.

It probably opens with this segment. Then does a LOST style cut back to when Korra was leaving for the Water Tribe. WHOOSH.

This your first time? I'd love to hear thoughts from a nonbiased newcomer.
Im in love!

I watched the first 4-5 episodes when they first aired but I got so tired of waiting I was just like im gonna wait a year or 2 when they online or something because I watched the first avatar all on netflix like 4 or 5 years ago so I was conditioned to marathon these episodes.

Anyways.. like I said im in love. The animation and the battles are always so tense..and this feels a notch above in maturity compared to the first the characters age and all the relationship stuff I like it. The story is also good as well I can only imagine where they go in book 4 after watching the trailer.

Also the pacing is still on point. Thats one thing about avatar series if you must compare it to "real" anime it has a whole lot less filler and always gets to the point.

I like Korra, but it's no where near as good as any of the JoJo and other really short anime series and what not. I still there's pacing issues even with the short episodes list. Season 1 has two episodes where nothing happens, the entire first half of season 2 nothing happens. Season 3 is amazing, but still I would compare it to middle of the road anime outside of amazing animation.

Kind of sucks that the premiere isn't two episodes. Although I guess we can't complain given we didn't have to wait at all for this season.

Speaking of Azula, where is she during this show?

Yeah i have mixed feelings. Obviously she's my favorite character but I also don't want them butchering her with a bad cameo. Kind of sucks we didn't get more fire nation in general given Zukos era as leader is interesting.

She should be the plot twist villain.
I have a feeling the
train from Republic City to Ba Sing will play a big part later on
Hopefully. They wouldn't mention it if it weren't important.

I take back anything I said using as basis that fanart of Asami. She looks gorgeous, even if I have only seen her in Azula's avatar.
But I will wait until Friday to watch the complete episode.

I really hope they don't let Mako hook up with anyone.

(On a sidenote, my headcanon is that Mako is gay.)

Didn't know you liked Mako. :p Personally, I would totally be okay with no romance at all. Would actually be interesting for them to NOT have anyone be in a relationship. Would be funny if Bolin was the only one that ends up with someone given he had the worst luck in Book 1.

But given the kind of show this is, I can't imagine they don't have one major romance. And Mako and Asami is just too obvious. At this point, I'm actually okay with that pairing. Just because its the only one IMO that would feel right. Never cared for them as a couple or anything, but from a writing perspective it would be okay.

Kind of crazy I'm saying that given I hated Mako in Book 1. But I think his character had the biggest improvements out of anyone overall. So I'm fine with him. Hopefully if they do get them together, Mako doesn't revert back to only being a romance character.

Between Mako, Asami and Korra, I believe the most realistic possibility for a romance to happen is between Mako and Asami, but it is just the lesser of the evils. Neither couple have what I would call a good development (after all, the entire triangle stunted much of their personal growth during Book 1), and of course, it is my opinion that they shouldn't waste time on that.

But if Mako/Asami happens, I suppose the Makorra meltdowns should be hilarious enough

Well, not all characters from the original series have to appear in Korra, it should be able to stand on its own, i guess there is still the comic book going.

No romance would be ideal but I still have a feeling Makorra is the endgame.

Agreed. Which is why I'm always weary of a new show relying on old series. I haven't been 100% thrilled with all the cameos in Korra anyways. Still, I'm curious how the fire nation is today.

I would hate that, because I really felt a lot of respect for Korra for realizing the relationship wasn't working and wasn't healthy. It was a really mature decision and something a lot kids shows don't do. Unless they find the time to build up on Korra and Mako falling in love again (which i have a hard time seeing with only 13 episodes left and Korra being gone for 3 years and her main focus being about her legacy as Avatar)...I just feel it would be contrived and undermine their decision in Book 2 (which was one of the few things they did right with romance in this show). Would be like Book 1s ending all over again.

Whereas Asami and Mako actually makes sense. I don't care for them. But I also think it works on a writing/character level. Guess we'll wait and see as its all about execution. But I really think a best case scenario is Mako and Asami. Well actually no romance would be the best. But I don't see that happening. So I would say for me that would be the best pairing. But I'm always willing to give them a shot. If they want Mako x Korra I just hope they do what is needed to maneuver it so it works. But damn I'm not optimistic about them pulling that pairing off.

love the new avatar, Azula.

Godsami has the best reactions >>>

Any romantic pairing with Mako in it will be complete bullshit unless they actually address Mako's horribleness as a boyfriend in Book 2, rather than just pretending it didn't happen. The same thing is true to a lesser degree of Korra herself.
