Dismantle it later for some energy? I think you'll get more energy the more you upgrade it.

I don't think so.

I dismantled a fully upgraded chest piece and it was the same as one with no shards.

Or maybe I got 3 for it and normal is 2?

Either way, if you sink ascendant stuff into an item you will not get more back than usual.

I once got one of those boxes that increases your EXP for a certain weapon when I dismantled a partially upgraded Legendary AR.

nah, I hate sniper rifles ;) but i'll always be thankful to anyone in my party with it

I'd rather keep pocket infinity and do silly things to crowded rooms.
Btw, did you ever learn from Seragos the cheese method for upgrading PI on the current nightfall? I found a side area to the left that counts kills, but it's a room of about 20 enemies that don't respawn. I can't manage that main room with the FR's I have currently...

Edit: Nvm, google found me this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CE98Ak4YPg0

I can't get over how shitty the ADS on the Pocket Infinity is. It blocks your entire field of vision. It may be powerful once upgraded, but aiming it sucks ass.

Intentionally part of balancing it. Bungie also used view restriction on power weapons in Halo as part of their balance ie holding the Spartan Laser blinds you on the right side.

Anyone know when the update goes live? Also 40 points away from the next level at the Cryptarch so hoping for a Legendary weapon.

you should be firing PI "from the hip" the majority of the time. the ADS helps with range but it's unusable full auto, especially more than 3.

The more I use pocket infinity, the more the Perfect Balance mod is the way to go. The sheer joy of the true full auto with the 8 round magazine is hard to beat, but the stability means you make the shots count more, and 3 round mags don't eat up as much ammo. You have to get used to using it like a fusion pulse rifle if that makes sense.

Oh ok, I haven't tried it myself, I just read it somewhere. You're probably right. Not worth it to go for the full upgrade.

Someone wanna beat the raid before the restart? I'm noob at the raid, so please command me. Warlock Sun 28

Excited to do the Normal raid tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll get the Raid leg armor. I heard that it's impossible to get the Raid only helmet from the normal difficulty. If that's true, then all i need is the leg armor, then an exotic helmet, and I can hit 30!

Yep, I've been running mine with stability as well. I run one of the barrel mods for a bit better range I think. The 8 round magazine is too unwieldy to sustain full auto.

So do we have a general consensus forming on where to stick your primary exotic weapon? In this context primary meaning one you use most, not necessarily your primary weapon. I haven't had many options come up for exotic weapons yet, but since I have a Vanguard scout maxed out I hesitate to replace it with the first exotic scout that may come my way. It may just come down to preference, but I'm still curious what people with a variety of exotic weapons prefer.

against bosses with huge hitboxes... just, wow. but yeah, not sustainable for regular use. it really is like having a weapon too powerful to control in your hands.

Got to 27 tonight and 2 things from the raid earlier. Man what a difference a couple days make. I was so in need of anything to keep me going and next thing you know I'm able to raid and continue leveling up. So glad 24 and 25 are behind me. Those 2 levels were a nightmare to me.

Edit: New page again, well I'll be.

I dunno about PvP (primary seems useful there), but I really don't feel like primary is a good choice for exotic in PvE. Special and heavy are just more important weapon slots in PvE for hard enemies, and there are some game-changing exotics in those slots like Ice Breaker and Gjallahorn. Plus you can get a primary with an element out of the raid which makes exotic primaries even less useful. What I actually use between special or heavy will just depend on what content I'm in; the most used one in the future though I could see being Ice Breaker. Regenerating ammo on a sniper is just really damn useful, and the rate of regen lines up very well with the timing of DPS windows in the raid boss encounters.

So as someone who has both the Monte Carlo and the Suros; Suros feels way, way better for PvE, and Monte Carlo feels better for PvP.

Monte Carlo looks way sexier tho

It depends on the elemental modifiers, but I usually prioritize my heavy weapon since it's the one I use when my team gets overwhelmed with enemies. It's always the best life saver so I want it to be as good as it can get. It's also good for bringing down bosses really fast.

I am in love with the exotic handcannons however so I usually run with those when I'm on my own or when I play PvP. :)

Anyone interested in doing either the heroic or nightfall strike? Finished the normal raid but have not attempted any of the weekly strikes.

This thing is a freaking beast in PVP. It also has the Radar on Screen when ADS perk, and added range when ADS. Absolutely beautiful.

Mine has different mods, but this gun made killing Supplicants in the Atheon fight totally trivial. Don't run mine all that often but it will be coming out for that fight in the future.

I'll do you one better, now that the thread's a little slower, everybody post your three favorite items and a sentence saying why, preferably with pictures, but just post text if you're lazy.

(to answer your question, hawkmoon pvp and general/solo play, pocket infinity in strikes/nightfall/probably the raid)

I already did this. Nobody noticed. 😄

Is the patch coming out today? because I think Im done with this fucking game.

PVP is an unbalanced mess filled with campers and one shot bullshit weapons.

Finished the nightfall mission and got fucking coins. Grind for hours and get 5 purple engrams and they all turn into rare lvl 16 helmets and I am doing the same shitty bounties over and over again.

Invective as of now. But bare in mind that Thorn is getting a buff and it has some real potential already with its piercing rounds.

Thorn would be great if it wasn't for the inconsistent damage. At times it takes 3 shots to kill someone and other times I am not even doing any damage. Not sure if its the lag or hit detection issue.

I need some help with 1-2 queen's missions. I'm playing on my alt character (level 23) and it's proving to be tough. I'd be cool if someone could help me.

No one is certain if the patch is coming out today, anytime this week most likely

so far got 6 exoctics with thorn waiting for the pvp to be done. so 7 in total.

got 4 of them from purple endgrams. 3 from bounties

Must say my favorite is Patience and time the sniper rifle.

Also the primary shotgun universal remote will be better once I level up the range, its insanely short at starting point, less than 20 ft :(

The auto rifle is very good as well.

Just need more assecendant bits to lvl up all the weapons and armor, slow going.
