If it doesn't come out today there is pretty much no point in playing with strike/nightfall/engram improvements.

Not necessarily. I'm like level 25 with Cryptarch and his 'missive' or whatever for ranking him up has only given me legendary engrams like...maybe 5 of those, and of that only one legendary engram from him ever actually gave me a legendary.
It may not be a guaranteed chance to get legendary engrams from him, even after the patch. But it can't hurt to save the blues to rep up with him post patch. It may not help, but it can't hurt.

Three favorite items...
The Armamentarium - I mentioned this already, but this thing gives bonus ammo to both special and heavy weapons (all types), as well as giving you an additional separate grenade cooldown. It covers your chest in ammo and gives you grenade nipples. It's the best thing, especially as a Striker.
Ice Breaker - It's a sniper that regenerates its own ammo quickly and doesn't ever need reloading. It looks like some kind of crazy rail gun. Dudes go on the back of milk cartons when this thing is equipped.
MIDA Multi-Tool - I actually don't enjoy fighting with this weapon all that much; for combat I even prefer my legendary Aries Nemesis scout rifle to this. However, the movespeed bonus on this makes it ace for farming and jumping around. Did the VoG jumping puzzle first try totally trivially thanks to this. Makes doing patrols feel much faster. Maybe after the scout rifle buff it will feel better to use to actually shoot guys with.

then would that mean purple engrams are now rarer/take longer (even though it will be guaranteed once found/decrypted)? or they stay the same but way more duplicates?

Yeah I have both and Monte Carlo is just useless now.
Not that I know of. Lightweight is a standard weapon perk for +2 Agility (which MIDA Multi-Tool also has) but that one is attached to the unique perk for the Multi-Tool.
Yep, but they are upping strike/nightfall rewards. So it'd maybe balance out.

Not quite. You're thinking of Axion Bolt grenade for VoidWalker Warlocks. Those things you don't even have to aim at the target, just throw them at the ground at and they will just home you in. XD and they are blue.
Fusion Grenades are those yellow grenades that you do actually have to aim with but you don't have to aim perfectly with. In mid air, it will slightly glide in to the target and it kills him/her in one shot in PVP. Instead of needing two or three homing blue grenades to hit them.
Fusion Grenades are basically the sticky plasma grenades from Halo 2 and 3. With some gliding action as a twist. I love it. XD

Ill do the favorite three items so far.
I'm a Sunsinger Warlock, and I got the Heart of the Praxic Fire from a Exotic Engram from Xur. Totally lucked out on getting it. Not only is it probably my favorite looking Exotic, but the passive is pretty decent. The extra CD and max Discipline allows me to spam about 8 grenades during Radiance. Absolutely awesome to revive yourself and come back with a bang.
Invective was first "powerful" exotic. Absolutely beast in PVP with the full auto and regenerating ammo, tears easily through any fire shield, and will destroy everything in a mission with Solar Burn, which fits right with my Sunsinger anyway.
For the third, I'll go with Thorn. I haven't upgraded it all the way to really appreciate it or have an honest opinion on it, but I'm a Hand Cannon freak, and it's my first Exotic one, so it will hold a special place in my heart. Plus, just look at it. Absolutely gorgeous.

OMG that Heart of the Praxic Fire. I want that one so bad for my Warlock!
It's such a good looking Exotic. I love it to death. Kinda wish I could change the color of it with a Shader, but even then, it's looks absolutely gorgeous with Chatterwhite on everything else.
And the extra CD is just fantastic. SO many grenades.
Go to cryptarch with at least one blue engram and you can see if the patch is live. If there is option on it that it can produce green engram out of it, then it's not.

Might be lag, but it could also be related to your range. Handcannons deal considerably less damage at range, as long as they don't have a range upgrade. It has never taken me more than three shots to bring someone down with Thorn at close to medium range. Unless they have some extra shield or whatever.
Ugh and I was just talking about how much I loved using Fusion Grenades...XUR PLS! :3
How fast is the CD for grenades btw with that on?

Finally tried the Raid earlier tonight, and man it was a doozy. Started on the Templar section instead of the opening portion (more on that later) and was successful in beating the final boss. As for my loot, only legendary stuff I got was leg armor and a ship. Rest were ascendant shards which will definitely help me at least fully upgrade my legendary helmet.
As for the opening section of the Raid, I did that part with another group. That part...doesn't look very fun as opposed to the rest of the other stuff. If I join another Raid, I hope to never have to do that section again

I had no clue range effected damage output until today -- three weeks after the game came out. It's amazing how much fundamental information about Destiny isn't found anywhere in the game.

Sometimes I get none, but that may have only been from Queen gear. I haven't paid super close attention. If you're not gonna use it, though, you may as well scrap it.
They patched Queen equipement to give no ascencion shard. The rest gives 2 or 3 ascencion shard.

Good time to start a titan! don't dismantle it or anything!
Leveling to 20 doesn't take long and once you hit twenty putting on legendary gear advances you a bunch.
Definitely glad I decided to spend a bit of time with each class, cause whenever I get another class item it's always iaintevenmad.jpg
Is the Thorn buff coming this patch? I thought they just said it's coming eventually? My hype would increase so much.

I suppose the theory is to force the player into some sort of strategic choices, as well as to limit just how OP you can get.
What's more concerning to me is why there is a weekly cap on vanguard/crucible, and glimmer currencies. I can't think of a reason to limit that, unless they want to force the player to play other modes.
Consider yourself lucky and just walk away with your head held high.
Anybody know what the buffs are exactly? My Thorn could definitely use a reload buff because currently the reload animation is so slow! Even reloading a rocket is faster than reloading the Thorn lol. And Bad Juju needs a buff desperately for more ammo per clip. 15 is not enough.
God damn it what do I have to kill for RNGJesus to praise me with such armor?

lol, understandable and sometimes I scoff at crucible bounties as well. The silver lining however is that they often help improve the way you approach PvP. I seriously feel like a better player because of them. Plus I tried modes like Salvage that I otherwise would have ignored. Skirmish will always suck, though.
And now I can play again.
