This game seems like it's Halo 2 incarnate, with a lot of the same development difficulties.
So this is only from hard mode? Does it only come off Atheon or can it drop from any of the loot drops in there?

yup, bad juju's still bad even with the instant reload ability. not very realistic unless you're shooting shanks since it takes most of the clip to kill enemies stronger than that.

Guys is there a difference in upgrading gear from one piece to another in regards to defense. I have the following left which all cost the same, do any do better to upgrade than another?
Gauntlets - 1 Upgrade defense left
Chest - 2 Upgrade defense left
Legs - 3 Upgrade defense left
Does it matter which one I choose, it says in the description "Increase defense power allowing this armour to absorb more damage"
If thats the case would it not be best to upgrade the chest since its the larger hit zone?

Fully upgraded Gyallerhorn kills anything with a shield, Arc Supremacy Sniper kills everything else..when I got to the boss I went under one of the ramps and took shots through the gaps..At the start he was at the opposite end so I'd jump+glide straight up and fire a rocket before he could react, he eventually moved down to my end and I just Hand Cannon/Arc Sniperd him down easy.
Took something like 25min..recorded if anyone wants to see my terrible aim on youtube.

Every Legendery defense upgrade(except raid Legendary) gives +2 Light.

I've already been soloing him since 2 weeks ago. There's a rock hill/pillar thing to your right as you enter the area. The peak of it is directly across from the 'hole' to the upper level of the cave-like area where enemies like to congregate. Stand at the peak of this hill, toward the far side (closest to the zone wall), and down a little (not at the very peak). From here, you can crouch and the rest of the enemies on the map can't hit you. The only things that come over and shoot at you from the back side/zone wall side are the boss and the flying robot things. Throw a grenade down there to deal with the robot things when they come, and 'head glitch' the boss (aka keep a lip of rock between you and him, peak over it and shoot him then duck back).
With a good sniper rifle you can essentially 'stun lock' the boss until it runs out of ammo, then crouch down and use an ammo pack and repeat.
I've solo'd him on the level 24 strike this way when my teammates quit out a few times now.

How is the thunderlord once you have it 100% upgraded?
I have it too and so far not impressed, but it´s not upgraded fully yet.
It may not make much of a difference (if any at all) but I'd like to know what hell happened to what could've been a magnificent game. How did a game with such great ideas with a huge budget, a 5 year development and a talented studio behind it turn into a boring, lackluster and repetitive grind fest. This is BUNGIE. I could play any Halo game and find more variety in it than Destiny. No that is not a hyperbole.
This is bullshit and I am terrified of the idea that this is where the industry is heading.
Which is why I can't just say "Oh well".

Because Bungie has just been so open about what the fuck happened.
Bungie is great about staying in touch with the community. So why can't they address these questions that so many people are asking?

Legendary armor pieces from the raid, when fully upgraded, give 30 light, just like Exotics. The only way to get to level 30 currently is with 3Raid +1Exotic or all 4 Raid, all fully upgraded of course.
And they have nice bonuses on them similar to the exotic pieces too.
It's also why the "first level 30 in the world" basically means "one of the luckiest players in the world". After all, a friend of mine got 3 Raid pieces his first run. Meanwhile after two weeks fully completing the raid both weeks, I still only have one raid piece and some of my group mates have none.
The more amazing things I hear about Gjallarhorn the more I wish I picked it up, but at the time I felt I needed the Titan's Helm more from Xur.
The "good" news is that 75% of my Legendary drops have been rocket launchers. I have 3 New Monarchy Admonisher III's, an Unfriendly Giant, and A Steel Oracle.
Hopefully Xur will stock Truth eventually.

People is curious. I'm liking the game and all that stuff but I'd really like to know what has happened. Considering the kind of forum where we are, I find it kind of normal.
The problem is that there theory is solid enough, so it could be truth. Or not. Who knows. I won't read too much into it, but the story holds up IMO. There is plenty of stuff that doesn't make sense in the game. If different races had different starting zones and stuff it'd make more sense when you are resurrected. That could be Exo's first mission (metal lasts longer the bones).
There are parts like the lack of in-game chat and trading when it was being planned a year ago that doesn't make much sense though. I don't get why any sane person would say those 2 features will make the game "niche" or whatever.
In fact, I'd say that being able to buy in a auction house some materials would be nice for the casual player since they won't need to spend as much time farming to upgrade their armors.
They should implement a form or tower / clan text chat through the Destiny app IMO. And optimize it a little. I would have read some of the Grimoire cards while going to university (by bus) but I hate the UI there.

So much Ascendant Energy (22) its not even funny now, why cant I get Shards dammit. Atleast when I unlock everything on the Shadow Price I can upgrade it's damage 3 times instantly.
Seems to take ages to upgrade Legendary weapons, I noticed Legendary armour has been quick though. I upgraded 2 Exotic helmets to 90% within 2 days yet my Legendary weapon is only 45% upgraded yet I've been using it non stop.

I love playing this game, but it definitely hates me.
I've been playing for about 50 hours now (currrently level 27), and aside from the Queen's gear I only got about 4 legendary engrams drop while in the game world (not counting Rahool's "gifts" for leveling up his rep to level 13).
Even with Rahool's gifts, I only received 5 legendary items (1 pair of gauntlets, 1 primary, 2 secondaries and 1 heavy). The rest has been blues and greens...
I've even been playing 4 Queen's Wrath missions a day and only once did I receive the Supremacy. Every other time it's either hood or robe, not even the ship which at the moment is the only reason I still play these missions.
And I keep getting blue and green engrams for secondary and heavy weapons! Almost no engrams for other gear, for nearly a week! I must be cursed somehow...

Consider yourself lucky. I played for over 80 hours and decrypted 19 legendary engrams before I saw even ONE legendary item from them. My 19th engram gave me sundancer gauntlets though, which almost made up for it, but I can't help but feel like getting screwed on the 18 before it, and at least 10 or 12 since then, wasn't worth that one payoff.
I was rocking a blue Neraka as my primary even after two full completions of the raid, until I spent marks and BOUGHT my first legendary primary weapon (same day as I bought Suros from Xur). So yeah, pretty much everything I've gotten in the game apart from my Raid chest piece and my sundancer exotic arms... I bought after earning the monies for them with blood, sweat, and tears.
Rastool could go jump off a cliff, and I wouldn't miss his ass one bit.

It's pretty fucking great. Hard to control with the faster ROF sometimes, but the impact is great.
Also nice to have in PvP.
Is that the last part for the Thorn bounty, if so I need to do that as well so would be happy to team up for it... Send me a friends request and throw me a invite whenever you see me on Destiny.
I'm usually on in the evenings and some late afternoons (UK time).
My first two weeks I played mostly crucible and got lots of good gear from drops. But recently I've done exclusively vanguard strikes & bounties and I don't get jack shit from drops.
Do good weapon drops slow down a lot after hitting 20 or do I need to exclusively be working toward one particular faction to get better gear?
