Rented the game two days ago, hit 21 yesterday and lucked into my first legendary. Really ejoying the game overall. Definitely see the shortcomings, but there is a lot of good things going on as well. My legendary is a sniper rifle that I can't remember the name for, I'll have to grab a screen and post it up today. It's kinda zebra striped and I think it comes from one of the factions. I do have 8 things for the queen's strike so if anyone wants to help a noob run through it to get some more armor bits, I would be incredibly appreciative.

Just completed a mission at Level 28 in story and received nothing. I'll try a few more times though see if its random.
 
Okay... holy shit at the Weekly Level 28 and the Nightfall.... the Nightfall while hard is still easier than the Weekly due to the Arc Damage mod...

However, I haven't beaten either due to the fact I am not doing enough damage but I had an easier time with the Nightfall than the weekly, it is insane how much damage you need to do at the enemies i the Weekly...
 
Everything is random.

But do story missions that you had already completed eventually reward you again? I've done quite a few replays of story missions and the rewards are always empty at the end. Only items I sometimes get are drops or crates.
 
Now that I've experienced the Raid, I am kinda pissed they made this a late game mission for high level guys. The mission design is the most enjoyable and interesting compared to the crap we got in Strikes/Story. Why didn't they do more of these types of missions elsewhere? It sucks that additional Raids are locked into future DLC. They should've been what the game was and not some special get-together friends-only mission.
 
There's a corner that's pretty safe to shoot from. If you need we can pick up a third and I'll run it with you again.

we sat under a ramp (on the left as you enter the area) and we just laughed our balls off as nothing could hit us, boss stood on top of ramp and we shot his nads off through a slit in the ramp..

cheesy but good times :D
 
Started the Raid at 11 and went til around 2am. Got up to the section right before the final boss.

Man that part is one big pain in the ass. Everything leading up to it was fucking solid though. The stealth segment followed by the old school Megaman disappearing block platforming was ace.
 
Never mind guys the story mission I took was the Daily, I guess I looked too quickly cause I thought the Daily was another mission.

I'll go hide in the shame corner now.
 
They should really let us preview emblems. I've bought a few that I thought were cool but they ruin them by having half the banner yellow or some shit so you can't read your level or PSN name.

What they should have done is gradually introduce raid type mechanics as the missions and strikes progress. Ease players into it. They can clearly design interesting encounters, but they opted for bullet sponges and add spam/horde mode for the majority of the game.

Yup... pretty much was about to throw my fist through the TV. Holy fucking bullet sponge that last boss with relentless shielded adds.

As someone else pointed out, it's weird that the first boss in the first strike (the Devil Walker) has more mechanics than every other boss in every other strike...

You can't stack beacons there though. Seems less efficient.
it really should not require an external website, why can't games have user made rooms any more? another thing phantasy star online did right.

The raid is fantastic. Whoever designed it did a fantastic job!

So um, who wants to try Raid Hard Mode on PS4? We're going to die (a lot) but hey, potential (great) raid loot awaits us!

It's decent but its got bad recoil. It's more like a SMG than an AR.

Did the raid again last night. Got the Prime Zeloat Curiass and Gloves, Aetheon's Epilouge, Monte Carlo, and Chatterwhite. Good drops.

My sister got Mida's Multi-Tool. I was pretty jealous.
 
I've got that Legendary message for ranking up the Cryptarch waiting in my message box for the patch. Guaranteed legendaries, why not?
 
Is the patch out yet?

Still waiting, I've put playing the game on hold until it arrives. Doing bounties just isn't appealing anymore, especially since I have long reached the required levels to be able to buy weapons and armour from New Monarchy, Crucible and Vanguard.
 
Ok I'm getting bombarded with PMs but it's taking ages to send due to the 30 second limit so I'll post it here.


  1. Go to an location on the map which is between 2 areas.
  2. Look around close for materials or crate. If they are too far away go far away and come back for a new respawn.
  3. Once found take the material / open object. Sometimes both are close to each other.
  4. Leave the area and move into the second area.
  5. Wait for the white text in the lower left corner to show the new area you have arrived at.
  6. Once the white text has popped up turn around and head back to the material you just picked up or crate opened.
  7. You will see the material/crate in the same location and you can obtain content from it.
  8. Leave again and repeat.
Some materials spawn pretty close to the borders while others are a bit further so just use the Sparrow for quicker times.

There is a great place for Spirit Bloom on Venus, start a Patrol and head down to the right the first building on the left next to a corridor entrance will have the Bloom. Once got turn around head back toward the place you spawned in and repeat. I got about 40 Bloom pretty damn quick.
 
I hope Bungie releases some kind of statistics dump in the next weekly update. I'd love to see how everything stacks up.
