The amount of cheese and exploits that people will come up with in games will never stop to amaze me.

I would never do this, it sound boring and lame as hell, honestly.

You get an exp boost for the week, and I got the Ice Breaker from it WORTH THE CHEESE.

It's not trial and error. Tested this multiple times.

Wizards spawn forever.
Killing acolytes, thrall, and knights will trigger new drop ships.

You can get it done in about 15 minutes from the time you start the boss encounter if you're brazen enough.

Okay, I didn't know that. But it still seemed like they came from fixed positions? After two or three tries we could anticipate where to stand and at what time.

Got the legendary sniper rifle "The Supremacy" yesterday doing one of my Queen missions. Suffice to say this thing is beastly.

Bungie did a great job in the level system, tying gear to the level is absolutely brilliance. Leveling weapons as opposed to only your character gives the upgraded weapons meaning and the tweaking system gives waepons extra character. I hope other developers take note. Never you have undergeared capped people going into raids and offcourse the bragging rights.

Never thought about it that way. You're right, it's actually quite brilliant.

What leads you to know this? I beat it on hard pretty quickly today & cant remember any signs of getting extra rewards..

I went into a hard mode raid with some guys, opened a chest and did not get anything from the chest in the normal raid i did two days later.

I also read about it and someone told me it's like that.

take it with a grain of salt though,i got basically 0 actual evidence.

Well this is my experience:

First time we did it we stayed in the room and just kept killing. It took about an hour and 20 minutes as the wizards just kept coming.

The next time I tried it, we just ran I to the room and only killed wizards if they posed a direct threat. We focused on the Knights, acolytes, and thrall. Xyor spawned in 15 minutes.

Tried it again the next day and it worked the same.

Regarding the Legendary engram upgrade, it also applies to Legendary weapons right? Got a legendary engram (primary weapon) earlier and when my placed my cursor over it, it listed Rare Weapon as a possible reward. It turned out to be a legendary weapon, but I just want to make sure

I've been a stupid idiot...

Got my first exotic bounty a couple of days ago,
didn't check online before choosing, as i liked the element of surprise.
After the first bounty step, I saw it was a handcanon, and I got even more exited.
Started step 2, no problem killing 500 hive.
Step 3... 500 points in crucible with void damage.
I cursed under my breath, as I only had a void fusion rifle and I really don't like pvp.
But anything for an exotic right?
After hours of what feels like work I get the bounty,
run over to the speaker, pay a mote of light, thinking this is it... head over to the warlock vanguard... step 4 kill a certain boss in the summonig pits. On level 26, very hard...

I tried a couple of times with a friend, but this is just impossible for me.
It takes me minutes to take down a wizard and the knights just stand there and mock my bullets. So we gave up.

I feel a little cheated and stupid because I didn't check the wiki's beforehand.
I'll never be able to do this, I'm just not skilled enough.
I do find it kind of unfair, step 3 was difficult enough.

Any tips, help? I'm open to suggestions and good advice. Should I just drop the bounty?

It's a total pain in the ass. Even as a level 28 Titan the difficulty is over the top.

Eventually I just had my brother sit outside the room and I threw myself at all the enemies until Xyor showed up. It took quite a bit of time but being able to respawn infinitely made it at least manageable.

Bring along a solar weapon and an arc weapon and it will be a lot easier. Solar for the wizards, arc for the knights. Beyond that, it's basically just a matter of attrition. You'll die alot but as long as you can eventually take down some of the enemies then Xyor will make an appearance.

Git....gud?

Getting good won't overcome the level deficit. You'll have to dip into ammo synths way too much because the boss is a bullet sponge. The only way to get the rewards from a lvl 28 challenge, while at level 26, is through some cheese. But you're fastest way to get to level 28 will be through the rewards from the level 28 challenge. PEACE.

They basically looked at MMOs and their "gear level" and just decided to build it into the game.

In WoW for example you get to max level which is the "you must be this tall to wear these items" level. Same as 20 in Destiny.

Then in WoW you need to get the item levels you need to do the content, preferably with the right stats on them (which kinda come naturally from the class specific gear anyway). Destiny does this via the light system and literally just "upping your level" so to speak till you are "tall enough to do this content".

I have the arc and solar versions. My arc is fully upgraded and has 6 rounds in the mag. It has a short range scope which is incredible for pvp and mid range encounters. Missing a shot has the chance to rerun anmo to the clip.

Paring this with The Last Word is my new favourite load out. :3

I'm fully decked with purple and 2 exotics at level 28. Don't see a point in upgrading my weapons. Don't know what to do now. Raid is not an option because I won't find 5 people on PS3. Levelling up an alt sounds like a chore because of the story missions and reputation regrinding. But I want to continue playing. Problem is I don't have a goal.

This, also juggler is where slow fire rate primaries really shine, using my scout rifle for the nightfall made ammo management much easier

My exact strategy. They also come in handy when you reach the outside tower. No need to rush over there, just stay back and make some heads pop. :)

Doesn't it mean you'll get drops for the weapon type you're not using? So that you need to rotate your usage?

You can pick up ammo from dead enemies but you know when you run out on everything and it refills you after 30 seconds? That doesn't happen meaning you have to get the dropped ammo. I also don't think the dropped ammo gives as much as usual.

If its a cluster fuck of enemies in a no respawn area you can be fucked. Best to stock on a few primary packs and maybe special. Good thing grenades and specials refill over time though.

What level are you? If you're far enough below 26 there isn't much you can do, unless some high(above 26) level player carries you. And if it's a strike, that's asking a lot of the player carrying you because of the health bar on the boss, it's a slog.

If it's a relatively fair fight, what works in most first person shooters works in Destiny. It's a bummer because the better Halo campaigns didn't leave much room for nonsense like chipping away at the opposition and generally "cheesing" your way to victory. Enemies are not good at pressing an advantage, the shields only regenerate as far as their health bar at the time, so you don't have to worry about that. The sheer amount of cannon fodder and lack of pursuit. Player health bar that regenerates fully, perfunctory enemy grenades and level design that's not generally conducive for enemy flanking... all of these things add up to boring, but viable tactics.

This isn't turning out so much as advice as why small things make a difference in fps campaign design, oh well. Level up a little and when you come back you'll be able to shoot everything in the face without even breaking stride.

I'm going to raise another Titan. My main is a Titan.

Why?

As soon as it hits 20 I can share my gear and instant jump to 28. That's two level 28s to do the content twice per week and share all spoils.

So much loot!

Got disposable income?

Damn, the one morning where I had some time to do the Daily Heroic or something and everything is down. Oh well.

I hear you. I was really REALLY looking forward to the Tiger Strike playlist for a bit this morning. I wanted to work on my new Hand Cannon :/

No justice.

Never thought about it that way. You're right, it's actually quite brilliant.

They could improve it by giving Light to weapons as well, so it contributes to the overall level, when you equip a low upgraded weapon even if it is an exotic your levelmeter goes down and equiping a fully upgraded weapon gives you more, taking into account being legendary or exotic like with the armor. This also gives value to upgraded legendary weapons. Now that legendaries almost drop daily for me, this is going to be really sweet in terms of your collection. They need to give more vault space though.

But Bungie already did a great job with the elemental properties, giving value to each unique weapon. I am amazed by this, since Bungie has no pedigree in MMO systems prior to Destiny.

Just got in to PSN on ps4, just kept attempting to get into the store.. Still getting error message for Destiny servers being down, but at least PSN is in the bag (this grind is worse than the game!)

Can see one friend in game on Mars story, attempting to join his game via PS UI...

EDIT: worked :)

The problem with WoW's system, that is when I played it 4 years ago, gear level was not tyed to dungeons or raids, so anyone can enter it. This gear level system of Destiny just helps give dungeons/raids a more precise design of balance.

I got this bad boy on my very first queen's mission and have it almost leveled up fully. Looking forward to trying it out in the nightfall strike tonight. I can just hear the Cabal quivering already.

Sweet. I didn't realize it came with other types of damage. I've got 9 queen's missions sitting in my inventory. may try and score me a solar one tonight.

I would really dislike if they put light on weapons because it wuld severely impact weapon switching to adept to the situation and basically forces any weapons with lower light on them to be completely useless.

The only chest guaranteed to always have something is the chest way up in that mountain you climb near the gorgon area. every other chest has nothing in it if you did one of the other difficulties. however drops from raid phases like templar, oracles, gatekeeper, atheon etc, those will always give you rewards on normal and hard once per week. Im just curious if you do it on hard, will you get both drops instead of just the usual XD guess i have to test it by doing VoG on normal since i already did it on hard first.

Okay so when does the patch that makes the Strikes easier going to hit? That in conjunction with the loot patch will definitely make the game a lot more fun.

Shame they have Arc damage modifier. :P

Posted this earlier:

According to Reddit, you can get all the loot (double drops at each encounter and chest) if you just do Hard mode first. No need to do normal mode at all.

Have not tried this personally, but sounds like it has been verified.

Edit for link:

http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGa..._mode_without/

Edit again: You can check your Normal and Hard Vault progress on the app/website. If you have a full 4 yellow marks for each difficulty then you got all the encounter drops this week.

"Easier"? I'm pretty sure it'll just up the damage you do to bosses thereby cutting down on time, right? Would be sad if strikes got easier, they are way too easy already.

Friend system acting up, I saw the notification, but the Request isn't there...
Yea, it's not showing up under sent requests for me.
I guess I'll send it again?
Edit: Scratch that, error message when sending friend requests. Looks like they're still restoring some of the service.

Managed to connect to PSN... But couldn't properly log into Bungie's servers.

This generation is pure suffering.

Edit: Finally in!

Question. Last night I did the VoG until the final boss.

If I would join someone who's at the beginning of the raid and quit before reaching the final boss, will I still be able start at the final boss when I'm the fireteam leader?
