I cannot get the latest patch to download. I've tried everything I can think of, but my update history still says version 1.0.1.3. I have auto updates turned on. Anyone have any suggestions?

its a patch through the game not psn so if you can play the game online then youre on the newest patch.

Guardian Defense and Weapon Attack ratings are normalized -- actual stats of the weapon aren't so if a dude has a fusion rifle with a lot of range on it...then he's kill you from far away. Weapon upgrades matter (kills with this weapon restore melee energy for example.) As do the upgrades on your armor as well as your discipline, strength and intellect ratings.

Shotguns are just kind of fucked up right now, they have a lot of range. You don't need to be anywhere near point blank range to one shot someone. And again, if a dude has a shotgun with a longer range rating then he is going kill you from farther away.

Here's the thing though, I've never been able to one shot anyone with a shotty even if Im point blank in their face and yet its happened to me....I've also never experienced the huge range of a shotgun with my own shotgun as the dmg falloff is significant if im not in point blank range as well, unless exotic/legendary shotty's give a serious boost to range(mine is a rare shotgun) Do you need to get a headshot with a shotty or something to one shot?

I just really suck at PvP... I'm not that much a player when it comes to competitive FPS games. I'm usually the dork who always gets last place, the guy who gets more deaths than everyone combined (both sides).

I'm not quite sure why I did so well, but I think it might be partially due to the Galahad assault rifle I managed to snag. It seems to do a lot better than the Shingen I was using for some reason, I'm just not really sure why.

Anyway, managed to do the next part of the bounty (do a Weekly) by myself, which wasnt too bad. And I tend to farm a lot, so I actually had maxed out funds to burn, so getting the required Special Ammo packs wasn't that much trouble.

I now have my Invectus... squee!

I find this hard to believe. I did the Void damage bounty for Thorn using my Shotgun, and absolutely wrecked with it. The thing one shots from way too far away (I'm not talking about huge range in general, just huge range for a shotgun). Do you ADS when you use it? Or have a shotgun that increases its range?
 
Is anyone doing the Raid on normal at the moment? Level 25 warlock here and would love to finally find a group. Zero much here or with that destinylfg thing.

ADS? What's that? I don't have anything that increases its range yet, but from how people talk about shotguns being so op youd think they all can one shot from pretty far and this just has never been the case for me.

And ya, I've never been able to one shot anyone with my shotgun no matter if im literally right next to them or not. So unless you need a headshot or something to one shot, I've been the unluckiest shotgun user in the game.
 
One of ours bailed we need one more to do the raid at 1 am EST, maybe 1:30 but definitely in between that
