How do people keep doing this? What level are you? Its hard for me to imagine anyone doing a Nightfall solo.

How do you do this? What weapons do you use?
 
Couple of quick questions:

1) I thought the nightfall reputation bonus was 20%, but I just got 125 rep from completing a 100 rep bounty. Can other things also grant a bonus?

2) is the elemental damage on vendor bought legendaries not actually fixed? I've had the vanguard sniper rifle (Epitaph) twice now through the post from levelling the faction, and one is void and one is arc. According to the vendor, it should be an arc weapon?

1) As far as I know. The rep multiplier from nightfall is 1.25 so you received the correct amount of rep. The only exception is for fractions.. so a 75 rep bounty will round down to 93 rep instead of 93.75.

2) I am not sure if this is an oversight by Bungie but the vendors are not selling all the gear that belong to the faction. They only sell an arc Epitaph but you can get a solar or a void from the package. In some cases you can get a weapon that is not offered at all. For example, I've seen Dead Orbit skinned sniper rifles and hand cannons that players received from leveling, even though the faction rep only sells AR, scout, MG, and a shotgun.

The drops from engrams can have completely different rolls than vendor version. I've gotten two steel oracles that are much better than the one sold by the crucible quartermaster because they have tracking.

This makes me think that those faction vendors are supposed to completely refresh their inventory and sell 4 weapons out of wider pool, with random rolls and everything. Kinda like the speaker sells a random 4 class items out of the possible 8. For whatever reason, this has not been implemented and we've been stuck with the same gear for several weeks now.

Tried soloing that Weekly heroic for my first time at 24. Made it through the whole thing until the tank at the end, but then ran out of ammo and kept wiping. Will try it again later, bought some extra sniper ammo just in case!

Level 28 Hunter- Blade Dancer
Lord High Fixer
Pocket Infinity
Corrective Measure

It takes a while. You just have to clear out each area slowly, and use weapons that have the right elemental damage.
 
So speculation wise, what do you think will happen with the expansions

Will the soft cap level go up with a +10 for light

Or will just our light level go up 10?
 
I had a great Raid group yesterday but unfortunately most of them are located in the UK (I'm US eastern time zone).

I'm up at the final point and need a new group (or anyone from yesterday if they are reading this) to help me finish the fight against Atheon. This is the part with the relic and warps to either Venus or Mars. I'll have any takers, but I really need some experienced players to help me make short work of Atheon.

I'll be on about 9-930 PM EST ready to get a group going with any takers. Any help is appreciated!

You have to charge once, but every shot after that requires no charge. So instead of:

Press trigger, charge, burst, let go of trigger, press trigger, charge, burst, repeat

It's:

Press trigger, charge, burst, burst, burst, burst, burst, time to reload

I'm doing the same. The current nightfall is my least favorite in the game and the next one will be easier to do regardless of what it is. Well, unless it's Dust Palace.

Mars sucks.

If you do it today, when you spawn on the nightfall strike, go right and into the circular door. At the end of the path are some lvl 28 enemies that respawn pretty quickly and if you die you don't get booted to orbit. I got 160 or so kills today there in about 45 min. Worth it for that pocket infinity! Have been having fun with it.

Though Mars is probably the hardest NF to do this bounty on, so if you wait til tomorrow you'll get something with dregs, goblins or thrall. Up to you. I couldn't wait lol
 
I went for a gut feeling and started my exoctic bounty with thorn.
Nearly done with bad ju ju.
Have 6 rare fusion rifles in vault since heard about pocket infinity.

Lets hope the buff is worth it.

At work now, but I can give it a shot later. Biggest issue my hunter, who has the bounty, is only lv 26. makes hitting the 28's pretty difficult.

Once the reset hits, I can get the last 4 marks I need to buy some legendary gloves and get at least to 27. That should make the 28's much more manageable.
 
Had some weird glitch that my friend noticed. Said I died as someone else rather than my PSN ID, haha.

Probably already pointed out but rare fusion rifles are for sale from Banshee.

Yeah discussed this with a few others a few pages back and it seems Dust Palace would be very unlikely as its PlayStation exclusive. all night falls etc seem to be the same across all platforms. So I think it might be arc burn. If so good for me cos I can get an early start on my 200 kill bounty, bad cos every damn add seems to use those homing arc shots...
 
Although the RNG is atrocious, I managed to get all three versions of The Supremacy rifle. Now I'm ready for all the burns.

Of course, if I could buy an Icebreaker, I'd probably do that.

It is an absolute beast of a weapon. I use it over my vex mythoclast for the majority of the raid on hardmode. The reason that it is good is due to it's range compared to any other primary. I stay very far back for all phases of the templar fight and it is the best weapon to use at range besides a sniper rifle. Like you said, it is also pretty decent at killing oracles... with the added bonus of actually having ammo left over to damage the boss.

It is also great for solar burn queen's missions and nightfall strikes. It deals with wizards and shielded shanks with a handful of bullets.

Edit: I also chose to go with the bigger 27 bullet clip over stability as I found that it's fairly manageable already.

Yea, I see the benefit to using it for the solar damage bonus. I'll try using the bigger clip and trying it out at longer ranges. Since I'm a Titan I'm a bit more used to getting up close and just spamming hand cannon shots into weak point/heads.

I counted myself lucky when I got my last Exotic Bounty and it had Super Good Advice in it. The gun sucks, but at least I got some variety out of it.

Can you hold two of the same exotic weapon?

I got another exotic bounty and decided to do Invective again and just hand it to my alt. Just want to make sure the game isn't going to go crazy when it tries to hand me a second Invective.
