PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

I'm overwhelmed with all of this sudden PS1 goodness on my Vita, Strider 1+2, Symphony of the Night (was on sale), Vib Ribbon, MegaMan X4, ... just wish I could download Suikoden and Silent Hill to my Vita.

Also pre-ordered Evil Within and GTAV HD.

Don't forget to turn off bilinear filtering when booting these 2d PS1 games for the first time!

First of all the puzzles in VLR are fucking awesome. They're as good as it gets in the escape the room genre. Only in 999 are they terrible due to how basic they are.

Secondly there are no puzzles in the Danganronpa games. Just terrible minigames. As for pervy crap there's pretty much none in the first game, and this is coming from someone that cant stand that bullshit. There's a few moments in the second game though and they're so damn cringe worthy. One of the many reasons DR1 is the better game.
 
Downloaded Spelunky, first time playing.. haven't seen any gameplay on it either.
Guess I'll finally find out what's the big deal about it.

edit: Well, played for about 30mins. I enjoyed Rogue Legacy but this one isn't my type of game sadly.
 
Ok so those NISA games were just price drops not sales. Also One Piece World Red is a bundle with that Prestige DLC pack. Basically buy them together and save $20. Is the One Piece World Red DLC any good or worth it? I didn't think I would be getting that Oct $100 promotion but if I get the OP bundle and Senran Kagura digital next week that will be $90 right there.

Seriously! I'm impressed with the inundation of great PS1 games. Thanks Sony! Keep them coming and I'll keep paying for them!
 
how would people react if vita got long requested games that are shared with ios
say, a dissidia 3, mgs war jogger or
mhp4
 
I previously bought Spelunky on sale. The three versions in the store shows up as Free, but gray and not with a crossed-out priced like the other PS+ games. However, when I click on it, the PS+ message pops up. Does it still know that I actually own the game and is just giving the message because it is currently free? I have only tried with the web store.

I noticed that too. I didn't get the PS+ one, but the PS4 version isn't in my library. Not sure what's up.
 
I just realized that happiness is beign able to play MG, MG2, MGS, MGS2 and MGS3 on the go.

Finally bought my MGS HD Collection copy on PS Vita, plus MGS that I just bought last night on sale. This is awesome. I'm just a Peace Walker short of heaven. Or Outer Heaven.
 
Could anyone help me choose between the two pieces of Velocity 2X DLC that are available? Keep in mind that I am slightly crap at the game, so whichever one is less hardcore may be the way to go for me..

I'm in the same boat. Looks like it's the same issue most of the other post-release PS4 cross buy games have been having where it doesn't recognize your ownership. This one just happens to be a little different because it's also a PS+ title for the month. I'm holding off on the PS4 version until it gets fixed to prevent any possible issues.

Yup, PSN should know.
It happens to me a lot.
When you go to the game itself, it will just say Download since you already have the game.
There will be an error if you try to get the PS+ version since it can't exist in your profile.
 
On one hand, the PSN sales are quite disappointing this week, as they are on XBL, but on the other hand, my wallet can finally take a rest this week. Vib Ribbon will do for now, and I got a handful of Vita games to catch up on for the time being, kind of hard to choose what to tackle next.

Seems fun to me. It's pretty simple though. Weird cross between Snake and Pac-Man. Pick up eggs and deliver them. Try to pick up all of them before delivering any for maximum points. I don't know, I like it so far.

As long as it doesn't hinder the quality I'd be fine with this. And it probably would hinder the quality, so I'd be a little butt hurt, but I'd buy it on the Vita. I'm still excited for all the late iOS ports from Square.

Okay, so, go to the PS Store on the PS4 and go to Spelunky, it will show as "free" but WITHOUT a PS+ logo. It will still give you the PS+ confirmation like all other PS+ games. It will download, and NOT have a "valid ending" field if you go to Options > Information, which means you own it proper vs a PS+ game.

I have no idea why it's weird like that. But it seems we're getting the proper version not the PS+ version. I don't know if buying via the web store has the same results, but I'd certainly assume so.
 
Rainbow Moon (Cross-Save Bundle) is now properly in the PS+ Free Games area. Hopefully Driveclub PS+ Edition follows suit.

Edit- And now it's gone again.

Edit 2- The Rainbow Moon bundle is back again for free, but for some reason the individual full-priced versions are there as well (and are not free). I don't know why those versions are in the PS+ freebies area.
 
PSN needs to learn to do combos. Like, have the $100/$15 deal, sure, but combo that with a good backlog sale that makes us spend just enough that we feel the urge to bridge the gap to $100. At least there are still a couple weeks of potential left -- including the potential for a Halloween sale.
 
Thank god that they fixed the "weekly deals" at the featured tab on the vita store.

But still the same best selling games since february.

Because people who already own one version of the game can't "buy" the cross-save bundle.
 
So it's 7:45 PM central time, turned on the PS4, and still no system software update.

IIRC it usually happens sometime in the mid-late afternoon my time.
 
Anything special in the PS4 version of Dust? I have it on PS4 and PC now, since I barely started I guess I'm leaning toward PS4 anyway for trophies and not having to suffer through fullscreen mode on a pc

Cute uses of the DS4 in Spelunky BTW. You can hear the Damsel via the speaker and the touchpad turns Journal pages in an analog fashion.

That sounds wrong, is your overscan set up right in PS4 settings? I have it set to 1:1 pixel ratio (and my TV is the same), no problems in any games yet. In the middle of spelunky so I can't test this moment
