If you look at the three screens you posted, the Wii U one is fatter, that is how it should look (minus the godawful muted coloring, natch).Oh, I see. I'll try to dig up some better screens for comparison's sake, then. Thank you.

You don't have to use them if you don't want to, though.
I understand that. Giving the option to novice gamers is nice.
But c'mon now, it's not like the majority of games on the store are so difficult to require it.
I suppose it's for the games that don't have save functions?

Armillo, Scram Kitty, Cubemen 2, SteamWorld Dig are among my recent favorites.
Damn, so tempting. Ufouria is supposedly a good game and it costs around 80-90 used on NES here. This week, in Europe:
Wii U Virtual Console
Ufouria: THE SAGA 4.99/£3.49
Price Reductions
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition 9.10/£7.79 (Until October 16)
Unepic 7.99/£7.19 (Until October 30)
Yes, it's horrendous. I noticed it immediately after buying the 30¢ games in the first year. It's probably not a reason to outright ignore the games if you want them on Wii U (for TV or Game Pad play, save states, etc.), but they should look definitely better.Thanks. Does the Wii U version really have such awful coloring in the actual VC game, though? My understanding of that being the case was the main reason I've been avoiding purchasing NES games on Wii U.

The Wii U has savestates?? Since when?
It is a choice. They wanted the game to look accurate to using RF or composite leads for whatever reason. I'd love to know why they thought it would be a good idea and I hate that Nintendo are so patronizing they can't give us options here. Maybe next gen, it took a gen to get mappable controls (then all these did was throw people because both a Gamepad and Pro controller are controller 1 by default)I really wonder what happened here, it was always assumed Nintendo took so crazy long to release VC titles because they were super obsessive about accuracy, this seems like a really weird thing to mix up.
Doing that in Europe means 50Hz versions with IIRC borders making it a non-option for that region.Ah, good to have confirmation on that. I don't make much use of off-TV play or save states generally, so I will probably stick to Wii VC for NES games, then. Thank you.

I wonder if the high price Ufouria is going for swayed them to release it earlier. Maybe they just worked out Sunsoft games since Blaster Master also came out recently. If that's the case then they should figures out Journey to Silius next.
I take it that this is your assumption on the matter? If not, can you provide a source? It is a choice. They wanted the game to look accurate to using RF or composite leads for whatever reason.
Armillo developers believe they underpriced their game. They think it was a mistake to price game at $8, and it should have been priced higher.

Would anyone here still buy Armillo if it had received a much higher price than $8?

Is there a "must have" list for eshop titles anywhere? I need help picking between shovel knight and the ltter.![]()

Aostia used to have a thread but it was locked. For the most part I use this as a barometer for picking up a release, along with GAF impressions:

(Scram Kitty is totally under-rated there, though!)
I don't believe Armillo was under priced for what it delivered compared to other eshop games, though it could have easily been worth $9.99 for me. The devs made a big mistake in discounting the price of their game too soon. I was honestly shocked that they were selling such a good game for only £2.99 on the UK eshop. That's kinda crazy.Armillo developers believe they underpriced their game. They think it was a mistake to price game at $8, and it should have been priced higher.

Do you need exclusives? Wii U or 3DS?

Are all VC games poorly colored on Wii U? I noticed Kirby Super Star and Earthbound look considerably more washed out than I remember them. MM Battle Network and Metroid Fusion also seem darker than I'd expect. I prefer the weird colors to the blur though, I can screw with colors not pixels.
Ping 1.5+ slated for Oct. 16th release
Jeez, another Oct 16th release!
Anyways, looking forward to this game. I actually have a cross-over map I'm working on with my own game for next patch.
Thanks
Wii U mostly. Need not be exclusives.
This is probably a better comparison for 3DS/Wii U NES games. Those Mega Man shots for 3DS aren't accurate, I don't think.

It's actually not too different..
What's October 16th?
Nintendo seems to be putting some filter on the games to emulate CRTs/Shitty LCDs they were on in the day. Not sure why they don't put a toggle on that.
It is an assumption, the point is doing the takes more effort than doing nothing so there must have been some sort of motive.I take it that this is your assumption on the matter? If not, can you provide a source?
To think...
We're also getting Stealth Inc. 2, Citizens of Earth, Costume Quest 2 and possibly Pier Solar HD this month. Has any other month come close to matching this in terms of relative quality and content?

lies
In fact at this point I'm not sure the game even exists, the whole kickstarter must have been some huge scam and some people just claim they've played it to wind people up
I can't in good conscience recommend Toki Tori, or anything from Two Tribes, to anyone after they failed to deliver on the promised level editor for the Wii U version of the game, and instead having people go over to Steam for the game. They got a number of posts deleted on Miiverse for advertising the Steam version of the game as well. Just a very disappointing situation. And, I mean, if the company who made the game doesn't even want people to be playing it on Wii U, why should it get recommended?
They weren't advertising, they gave away free Steam copies to compensate and were on the verge of shuttering when they had to cancel the level editor, the game is complete enough as-is without it. Personally, the game was so well-designed I doubt most people would even give a shit.
You should direct your anger at shitty indies that fail to deliver on a game at all. Like the people making Rex Rocket.
