PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

So true. I dunno man. I don't want to turn this into a 3DS vs Vita but... A real handheld has to have curves right?
3DS also has Senran Kagura though.

Edit: Top of the page, buy Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus this week and Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd in November.

but RP on PS3 sucks big time.

You want to know the best part? RP crashes on a few PS1 games XD; tried it with Crash Team Racing and it crashed at the menu screen :(.

Maintenance during the thanksgiving ... Sony amaze me again with the PSN.
I'm tired to have any sort of problems (willing or not) with this service.

This is plain stupid.
From 1pm ET to 8pm ET ... What it this ? A joke for the Canadian users ?

Lesson learned.

Look, I'll give them a pass, since there service was absolutely immaculate over the weekend. They can sneak this one over on us.

Wouldn't be a problem if only people could play their games ;)

Thank the gaming gods, I forgot about the PS4 lockout issue, but coincidentally logged onto my PS4 and started up DRIVECLUB before the maintenance so I can still play.

Muahahahaha, maybe now that nobody can log in my game will actually connect to the server and update my stats. =P

It's Thanksgiving in Canada today... way to go Sony!
I'm upset I'm only getting my XOne is coming at the end of the month at this point.

Seriously, so hard to manage the maintenance in a better way?

Ok, so this is really scummy or incompetent by SCEA standards. Remember that PSTV compatibility list they posted three weeks ago? Well, it just got updated today again to remove some of the games they've been falsely advertising to work on PSTV, like Twisted Metal: Head On, Wipeout Pure, Suikoden and Metal Gear Solid, you know, one of the games they openly admitted that worked on PSTV in that blog post!. Guess what else they did? They went to thas same three week-old post and removed every trace of "Metal Gear Solid" being mentioned there, either by themselves or by the comments.

It's just..."baffling" wouldn't even suffice to me. If I'm allowed to pull an olf favorite of mine:

"SCEA gonna SCEA"

lol

SCEE did a similar thing. They had Mega Man Powered Up on their compatibility list initially but removed it after a day or two. That game isn't even on PSN so I don't know how that mistake was made.

Didn't they announce downtime for today? On an American national holiday. Great timing!
Yea seriously, who the hell does maintence during the whole day on a holiday? As a network admin if I did this at work during peak hours this would be unacceptable. Why couln't they have done this during the down hours? Usually 00:00 to 07:00

Because they cannot afford to have a couple of people working during the night ?
I don't know, but this is more than unacceptable, because it shows little to no respect.
Should I need to mention also all the problems this service has during the week ?

I don't mean to be rude, but can't someone else take over the PSN topics and keep them updated?
Back when the Vita -> PSN change first happened, we were going to have a VitaGAF member make the new OP. Kass took over before Aytrial was done with his version of the thread, I think.

Everything PSP and PSX works on Vita and Vita TV, it is only licensing and possibly, but probably not, certification that keeps things off of it.

I got home from work just in time to see PSN go down, why they decided on this timing is beyond me.

Steam always does it at evening on weekdays in the US too. I can't believe they can't bother to get someone to do it at literally anything other than primetime in their primary market.

Locked out of all my games on PS4 because they can't verify license, even when I unplug the Ethernet and restart the system. I just restored licenses last week too :/ Is there anything I can do? Just want to play something while maint is on..

Since they're all service games (monthly updates w/ new events, server authentications for purchases, et.c), I don't think the likelihood of any of SE's F2P games coming over on Vita is high. If Agito+ is like Chain Chronicle V and Million Arthur, the Vita version will have exclusive events that can't have a translation paid through mobile.

But aren't they done updating the game in japan! AFAIK all the chapters are out.

Also the interview where tabata said that vita owners playtime will be more than phone casuals and they will be adjusting the game accordingly makes me think that this one will work offline.

We will see I guess. Not far now.

I thought this wasn't supposed to happen on PS4? Is this just another case of primary/non-primary PS4 activation?

Try to log out, maybe that changes it. I never had problems like that, strange that it's happening to some of you guys.

I don't think Aytrial was very interested in making the new thread anyway, he never posted in any of the PSN threads iirc

My console is set to primary so that can't be it. This is the first time I've seen this though. During earlier maintenances I did not have the same problem.
I'd really love someone to get to the bottom of this. It seems it happens every time there is maintenance, and I'm always worried it will happen to me as well.

Even if someone takes over who has no idea what they're doing, as long as they keep up with the thread they should be able to get along fine - I'm sure us members will feed them missing information if they'd be kind enough to make a thread and keep the OP updated.

Hey, I'm up for it. I don't know how NeoGAF management works with getting these topics approved, but the least I can do for the community is keeping this topic updated.

I'm off work for the holiday today, and of course PSN is down for maintenance.

I wanted to play some Destiny with my friends who are also off work. This is pretty lame. I'm playing single player stuff now, and I'm reminded why I'm a single player gamer 95% of the time in the first place.

Making a weekly post for new content + sales on the PSN stores would be appreciated. tolkir does this in the Nintendownloads threads and it's rather helpful. And the eShop is 1000x times better at conveying that information so a PSN thread should benefit even more from something like that.

PlayStation Store website > Weekly Deals > All Deals > (mark your platforms of choice on left)

You can even make a bookmark, I believe. Should probably include this link in the first post.

Indeed, but this thread runs way faster, so it'd be easily missed.
