I'm fine with both, I just wish they left the braided ponytail. I don't care if it would've killed the animators at Studio Mir.

I don't see a massive difference between the two. I guess the original makes her look a bit more villainous. She stands out a bit more as an individual I suppose. I guess we'll have to wait and see how her story plays out though. As it stands now, I kind of dig the fact that, she kind of looks plain. I guess I'm still holding on too hard to hoping she's not just evil to be evil.

But you know she's going to be. lol them grinning scenes. Those camera angles. They might as well put up flashing arrows pointing at her and saying "EVIL EVIL EVIL...SHE'S TOTALLY EVIL!"

EDIT: I guess I kind of dig the hair a bit more on the original. But the new hair also makes a lot of sense, given the style of the Metal Clan.

That's why I like it, there isn't a massive difference between the two. Compare her show outfit

In my opinion, there isn't enough distinguishing her from her subordinates. There's her back armor, and a few very minuscule changes.

I don't really care of she keeps the shredder guantlets (though I do like them), but if they had her with the outfit she has in the concept art, she would stand with them in a crowd, but also stand seperate from them, indicating her uniqueness. Alternatively, she can keep the Show outfit, while the other characters have uniforms more like the one in the concept art. The point isn't really to say one is better than the other. The point is that when you see Kuvira, you want to think "This one is not like the others. This one is special. Watch her." without it even conciously processing. A unique uniform like the one in the concept art would have done just that.

In the first episode she told the bandits to either join her or get crushed by the next train. I don't want her to be evil either. I would prefer her intentions are misunderstood. But if she has to be the villain I would like for her to survive at least. I liked Ming Hua...I wasn't exactly happy when she got fried. Kuvira likes to keep her hair long. Su Yin probably told her to cut her hair like the other metal benders so she rebelled instead and married her son and took over her territory.

Maybe she'll be like Lord Ozai when he became the Phoenix King. She's just waiting to take her throne of power, and will then start wearing her ruler cape + crown. :P

I think I would've kept The braid for continuity reasons at least. Beyond that I like her with the bun just the same.

I feel dumb since I posted it earlier. But I forgot she had a braid lol I guess the writers wanted to give everyone a haircut. Since hair style changes = growth and change. Or something. Tenzin should have had a Mohawk after the time jump.

Same, I knew she looked different but it took me a while to realize she changed her hair.

Ha now that's something I would have paid to see missed opportunity there bryke.
Also did not notice Kuvira's new hairstyle then again she didn't really show up that often during book 3 to credit closer scrutiny till the end.

I pay a lot of attention to women's hair, especially the ones I find attractive.

Whenever I get a haircut all the women be like

"Damn. That looks amazing. Get out of the way asshole, you're blocking the screen"

What if she's in the forest and for some reason the cornucopia that year is made of wood?

Kuvira can bend earth too, not just metal.

God I hate Hunger Games though. I don't even think Kuvira would get to the games part as she would lay waste to all those fools prior.

She'll just use her bare hands and sheer intimidation.
Nothing stops Kuvira.

She would learn to manipulate iron in people's bodies and rip them apart from the insides. lol I know that doesn't count at that phase. Bleh I'm gonna go puke some more in the bathroom. Beats Hunger Games talk. :(

Edit: I do hate hunger games but I'm being facetious. I support all crossover tumblr fan fiction -- ALL OF IT!

Katniss is so fucking useless in those movies. Do something instrumental of being defended by some dude. What kind k of post feminism role model is she supposed to be?

"Try University of Ba Sing Se!Could've gone pro if I hadn't joined the Metal Clan. I'm not one of those Beltway pansies! I could break the Earth Queen in two, WITH MY BARE HANDS!"

And I never noticed the Xavier Magneto thing going on.

Her design was actually toned down a lot to be honest. She's more distinctive (though her armor is almost TMNT Shredder like) in the initial concept design.

Ahhh, Bryan and Mike extensively talked about Kuvira's design at NYCC. They had to tone it down because of animation restrictions. The animators hated Kuvira's braid and extra metal thingies.

Her current design is simpler, but still pretty hard to animate, according to Bryan.
