Genuinely happy for hyrule warriors that game has provided me with close to 200 hours of gameplay so far and thats not including the DLC that just released ; ;
Didn't the producer say they wanted to sell a million units WW though or am I misremembering?Hyrule Warriors
USA: 190.000
JAP.: 114.252
EUR.: ???.???
Total: 304.252
Could be at 400.000 worldwide.
serious question, why is 190k actually "impressive" for Hyrule Warriors? seems low, especially compared to big name titles out there.
They wanted 1M worldwide iirc.Hyrule Warriors

IIRC, the number for last month was ~59k, so the increase would put September's totals at ~90k. Basically flat from last September, where the only retail release Nintendo had for the console was Wonderful 101, and we all know how well that one did.
That was also the month of the price drop, as well.

Problem is every game not named Mario is selling like sh*t so far on Wii U.lol it's all making sense now.
Yea I get that it's a musou title on the wii u in the west, BUT it's also a "Zelda" title. I mean, sure it's a spin off, but it still doesn't seem like a number to be that excited over. If it can break 500k, then I would be seriously impressed. Great game tho.
I don't think the last Zelda title on Wii did that well exactly. And as you mentioned, this is a different beast. Just basing it around Zelda doesn't mean it'll sell millions.lol it's all making sense now.

Donkey Kong/Zelda Wind Waker and Pikmin 3 bombed.

Yes, indeed.Wind Waker almost definitely didn't "bomb" in the "recoup its investment" sense. But it didn't sell better than it did on GameCube (which was the express justification for its existence per Aonuma), so you're still right.

wind waker didnt bomb its one of the wii u million sellers
"Being a million seller" matters a lot less when the average sales for enhanced retail remakes in the franchise is in the 3 million ballpark.
lol it's all making sense now.

But that's on other systems. Relative to the Wii U's average sales per game, a million is not half bad.
I feel that Bayonetta 2 selling on the same level as Hyrule Warriors would make it a bomb.Good numbers.
Hopefully Bayo 2 can at least sell on the level of Hyrule Warriors.

Turning this Musou game into a Zelda crossover didn't take any more effort than, say, One Piece Musou, or Gundam Musou. It just happens to be a more popular brand this time. So you compare it to other Musou games, not Zelda games. That's roughly where it should line up in terms of budget, expectations, etc.
One Piece Musou pulls numbers Hyrule Warriors will never dream of.

Does anybody know what is the total amount Bayo 1 sold worldwide? I'm actually curious.
Actually a good bit of news this month. Smash 3DS is killing it, Hyrule Warriors is off to a good start worldwide. The only bad news is the 3DS hardware numbers, which means Smash on Wii U probably won't shift many consoles either![]()
More like "everyone is waiting for the New 3DS."Or it's one of those "everyone who wanted a 3DS for it already bought it" scenarios?![]()
