Nearly 5 hours of Lords of the Fallen footage via Lobos (Dark Souls Streamer)

This looks so good! I think i'm going to get it day 1.

Cleric looks great, good medium tier. Warrior looks easy and rogue aint my thing.

Hope i won't be disappointed...
 
No multiplayer and no season pass is a big PLUS for me.
I am probably going to get it on the first week if have have enough gaming budget.

This looks like Dark Souls lite, which is a huge plus in my book. Hopefully it runs allright of my laptop (and by allright I mean it runs at all, since it falls below the required specs).

Day 1 and crossing my fingers. Bring on more Dark Souls clones.
 
Skimmed around the video a bit (muted of course), and I'm sold.

Not because of his positivity (no clue if there were stipulations attached to him showing off that demo build), but simply because I think it looks pretty good and I probably won't be able to play Bloodborne for a while.


XP Gain Multiplier for not spending your souls XP is a pretty intelligent game design answer to the "deposit everything immediately" mentality of the Souls games, much more so than repairable life rings. >_>

Copy/pasting my reply to this in the other thread in case you didn't see it: I thought the same, but I saw some later areas later in the dev stream and it seemed much tougher. I assume it's just a much gentler difficulty curve compared to Souls. Also, the rogue seems much more susceptible to damage... another reason to pick it! Still, I wouldn't expect it to be too challenging if you're a Souls veteran.

It's pretty amazing how slow people think Souls combat is. The rogue is slower than a dual dagger build in Dark Souls 2, and the fighter is about as fast as a fat-rolling heavy armor build using a very slow weapon. Most armor/weapon setups in Souls games are considerably faster than what's in this game.

I have never, in all my many years of gaming, spent more money on new releases than this OCT. I was planning on getting either this or Sunset Overdrive, but....both now? GTFO willpower.

So, in the last month, I've bought:

FIFA 15
Forza Horizon 2
Alien Isolation
The Evil Within
Destiny
DriveClub

Bayonetta 2 is most certainly on its way, too.

What hype? There was almost zero non-dev hype about this pre-launch. The reaction has been extremely organic and the result of players' surprise that they are actually having a great time playing the game, despite it's shortcomings.

You mean he doesn't like the game, then.
 
Man i really hate how during cutscenes and while the Main Character is wearing a helmet it is automatically removed so we can all look at his "badass" face.

I have to be honest though i think the gameplay looks like something i'd really enjoy playing.And for the first time this video actually really helped to pique my interest a bit more because all the trailers they have shown so far were terrible as well as that video with the producer and that awful IGN guy playing the game for 10 minutes or something.

I'm just going to wait for ENB's Lets Play and for some certain GAFers impressions though before i make my final judgement.
 
Clearly this type of enthusiast playthrough is way better marketing than any official PR for this kind of game.
 
Can't watch the video right now so don't know if it answers my question, but am I correct in thinking that you don't get to create a custom character for this?

The face of the character is preset but you can pick starting classes.

Yeah, the sound design seems surprisingly very impressive.
 
I'm only about 30 minutes in but great video.

This continues to look better than Dark Souls to me. I've already set aside the funds for it and will pre-load when it goes up.

The only bummer is that it comes out the say dame as Sunset Overdrive, so it may get shelved a bit like SoM did, but I want to support this day one.
 
I wish developers knew I play games too and also have the ability to post videos to Youtube. Maybe then they'd give me early access to their games.

Been hyped for this for a long time now and the hate here on GAF has been frustrating to deal with (mostly because of their reasoning: Dark Souls copy? IT SUCKS!).

I'm soooo pleased to see how many people seemed to have opened their eyes for this now that it's reaching its release.

I can already sense it: Demons > DkS2 > Lords > DkS

Uhh... Shadow of Mordor is an awesome game, wtf are you saying hype? There was absolutely no hype for Shadow of Mordor. If anything everybody expected it to not be any good at all, and was surprised that it turned out to be a great game...
 
This is the perfect January game, unfortunately. With Halo and Destiny - my time is nonexistent for other titles :(
 
Excellent stream / video. Basically took me from knowing nothing about the game to looking at the amazon pre-order page. Anyone know what the Monk's Decipher DLC is?

Saw in the other thread that the developers were streaming yesterday. I'll need to check that out tonight

He's saying that it would be better for Lords of the Fallen to release in January, as it's a smaller title that'll get swallowed up by the autumn heavy hitters.
