PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

They won't allow an OT for that game.
At least if you meant the game I am thinking of :P

I'll still buy the limited edition regardless, since I have every single limited edition for NISA's Vita games.

TOTP: Buy Project Diva F ($12 Vita and $20 PS3) during this weekend's flash sale.

Someone convince me to buy Hatsune Miku PDF (PS3) on my old 720p TV with input lag.

Never thought I'd ask someone to convince me to buy a Miku game.

I mean it might get pushed in to later in the year or 2015. They said they are aiming for a late summer/fall release!

Okay, I'm okay with that. Delays are fine, I want the best game possible and am patient.

Imouto
Banned

Hesouto?
too soon for bad puns?

Read through the linked thread, didn't see what got him banned, but I'm a junior too so will stay clear.

Ah come on, I will never understand how the same deal on a game can have so drastic a price difference between two regions in one week. US gets Miku for 12$, EU pays 18€. Don't even get me started on conversion rates. Stuff like this just annoys me. If you can't get a global store working, at least try for some sort of parity Sony.

They don't want a global store working. Publishers don't want a global store. No industry wants a global store. And a major reason for that is that no corporation wants 'price parity' between regions. Different markets are different markets and no corporation would willingly enforce price parity on themselves.

It's fine to let it annoy you (it is definitely annoying), but understand it's not a case of incompetence or laziness, it's by design.

It's on the publishers, not Sony. Also, NA is a flash sale, discounts are deeper during those.

Also, in this case, this.

You get to play it over from the beginning again and re-earn the trophies, proving your absolute devotion to Miku-dono.

While yeah, I'm also sad to see a fellow Vitabro get banned (permed too), he always seemed to be defensive about the fan service in games. See you later, space cowboy.

Miku, Miku get!

I think the policy is reasonable, and it does seem likely that the line will become more clean cut in the coming months with that game being released. Guess we'll see.

Folks, I want to clarify a couple of things here. Firstly, nobody is going to be banned for listing the title. Criminal Girls. There, I said it. It's a game that exists. In terms of having a discussion about the mere existence of the game, we don't have a filter banning the title. Secondly, when Criminal Girls does release, I do hope that this isn't the clever plan in place to talk about it without really talking about it.

Followed. Anyone else with a twitter account here?

I have no idea what this means but you are telling me there is some 1000% pervy (nature of the game) game coming to Vita? SHOCKING.

I want to believe too. : (

It looks like SCEE is done with making PSP games compatible with Vita, so no go for Tag Force 5 as it was put on EU PSN this year. Japan has Tag Force 6 and its Vita compatible. North America has 0 portable Yu-Gi-Oh! games on PSN. : /

SCEE(and SCEA)

I want to play some Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force on my Vita :'(

You should ask SCEE why they aren't releasing a EU version of "Flash deals" :(.

I'm still surprised that it's getting localized
I wonder why it got localized :/.

I'm still mad that Tag Force Special is coming to PSP and not Vita. >:(
Hey. It's Konami. You know how they are ;) (example: Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL World Duel Carnival EU/US version that isn't the same as the Japanese version :( ).

Finally got my PSN card today, so I bought Hatsune Miku Project Diva f (PS3 and Vita version). Can't wait to play
AU7Amsc.gif
(but first I need to make some space on my 16GB card or I have to buy the 64GB and wait until it's delivered. But I want to play it now :X).

And I saw this thumbnail image today:

Er.... uhm.... o.o.
I really wonder who made the artwork for Selvaria. Looks very..... interesting ;)

And I'm actually disappointed about Imouto being banned. He/she was hyped about SK. Liked his (new) avatar ;). He/she was(and still be a) part of the VitaGAF :(.

RIP Imouto, probably would still be here if he was into aneki types

Interesting that Project Diva is on sale when that community manager specifically said they'd never discount it.

Apple's iOS and Mac App Stores are global. Content publishers can select which countries can access their content but it's really just a bunch of checkboxes.

It's the console ecosystems that cling to these obsolete notions of having different regions.

Thanks for the response! I don't think anyone here's going to be so dense to think that 'the-game-that-must-not-be-banned' will get us out of a ban, mostly a bit of humour :lol

yup. Even major online retailers (Amazon, for example) are moving more and more to having a unified -- or otherwise import-friendly -- storefronts. For digital as well as physical. It's the same line of thinking as Nintendo's region locking. Outdated and silly.

I actually asked Tom from XSEED about this issue in another thread and he said that they will be very insistent on Brandish and Trails 2 being Vita compatible on the EU store.

Has been a few years since I played VC1 but I don't remember her having that much life :p.
It could be the original artist to be honest since he was mainly drawing hentai doujins before working on VC IIRC.

Most likely drawn by the character designer himself, Raita.

And yes, whenever he doesn't work as character designer for games and such, he draws porn. His ongoing original doujin series is very popular and even has an anime now.

Yep, sounds a lot more ominous when you refuse to mention the name

Not just consoles. You pay different prices for the same goods all the time. Where they can enforce it with technology (like bluray) they often do. Just because IOS is an exception doesn't make it 'obsolete'. I'm not defending the practice, but it's certainly not obsolete and isn't something most corporations have any interest in moving away from it.

Charging what you think you can get region by region makes business sense. If a market can't afford $60 (converted from USD to local currency) games, that doesn't mean you don't sell them anything.

I have no idea why IOS does half the things it does, but it's always been the wild west of digital and certainly has enough issues that I wouldn't hold it up as a guiding light for anything. Since there's a bazillion independent publishers, it's probably easier for Apple to allow everybody to set a single global price for a product. That is not the same situation as big publishers wanting regional control over their product prices.

Just to clarify, is normal gameplay discussion acceptable (battle strategy, equipment, plot points), as long as it doesn't delve into the sexual aspects of the game?

Wait, so this confirms that the publisher themselves don't actually have that much say as to whether their games are available for Vita, right? Am I reading too far into this?

Wait, we're not allowed to talk about Criminal Girls at all? I get that we shouldn't bring up the unsavory bits, but we can't even have a OT for it? That's some thought-police mentality there, though rules are rules, and I don't want to get banned.

Sucks for Imouto, but he really should have been more careful. When I was a Junior, I didn't even post in the tipping threads, let alone some of the hot topics that get people banned.

Well, Tom seemed to be very surprised about it himself so I am not sure. The only piece of info we have on that issue is this support email on the playstation forum. In the end they may have made it Vita.compatible if Konami would have pushed SCEE but maybe Konami just didn't care.

Given his/her first sentence is "I've never heard of this before.", I'd say it doesn't confirm anything. I read it as him just saying 'I never heard of this, but I'll be sure to make it vita compatible'. If he's not familiar with the issue, he clearly isn't able to add clarity to the policies at work.

I really do not understand the system they have for this. Seems like at the contract for PSX/PSP games on PSN should just include Vita by default. No idea what the deal is.

I want Breath of Fire 3 and Suikoden 2 so damn bad

This is a sensible conclusion. I have followed Tom's posts pretty regularly but I'm not even sure what his "official" role is at XSeed. They don't seem like a company that can afford to have people purely dedicated to social media stuff, but maybe I overestimate that cost.

It's always been at SCE's discretion.

PSM is single certification for global release. That's why we often get Google translated games the same day they release in foreign country x! It's just that no one cares about PSM.

Beat One Piece. I maintain my opinion that it's one of the best classic action games on the system, as well as being one of the most attractive. The last chapter's writing is... less than stellar, but the rest of the game I thought was passably written. something like a 8/10, I'd say. Strongly recommended.

Just so we're clear, you're talking about Unlimited Red, right?

Isn't Miku published by Sega in both territories?

It's fine to let it annoy you (it is definitely annoying), but understand it's not a case of incompetence or laziness, it's by design.

Maybe I worded it a bit too simplistic and general. Uniformity may be a better word? While hoping for exact conversion rates across the globe as well as fair pricing is obviously wishful thinking, getting deals like flash sales in Europe and maybe equally big drops in terms of percentage is probably not. Especially since the information is so readily available for everyone, account switching is a possibility and videogaming supposedly is a pretty global thing. But who am I kidding, we are still getting 50Hz classics, have delayed releases and not even the storefront is organized the same way. Or organized at all.

Now I'm just ranting. What I meant to say: Just because I understand that companies are greedy, that they are using the systems and regulations to their advantage, doesn't mean those actions aren't pretty stupid to a consumer and their methods aren't archaic. And Sony not wanting to do something that would benefit their costumers may be by design, but it won't stop me from being annoyed by it and voicing that opinion from time to time might just change something. Somewhere. Sometime. Butterfly effect and shit. Argh, I'm tired, sorry. :D

Has anyone tried playing Project Diva F with a Dualshock 4? Maybe the game would work better for me if I used that instead of the PS3 controller.

picked up that miku game for vita, downloading

so freakin big

all the rhythm games are like 2GB++ crap

you would expect them to be small

Man, I knew PSN was slow but trying to download TLOU has been brutal. Have a 100mb circuit at home and figured it would take at most a few hours.

Been half a day and not even 50% yet!

Are you using the default DNS servers your ISP/Router is supplying you with?

Google's DNS servers are usually quicker.

Got my birthday present, 13 days later. Still haven't bought an HD TV to hook it up to, but no biggie... since everything I read says the media apps and whatnot are in a fledgling state of disarray. I'll hopefully find a nice deal for a smaller HD TV around black friday or cyber monday, and wait to buy something for once.

I feel like keeping it sealed until then, just in case, but I need to sell the game vouchers and the 8GB card.

Whatever half-functional flop this thing turns out to be, it's still a supplemental part of my Vita <3 collection.
