I like what they've done with Mako. The straight man's hard to make interesting, but now they're putting him in situations that hilariously frustrate him.

I actually liked flustered awkward Mako from Book 3 too. I still think overall they've made a lot improvements for him. I think his personality and plot points are still bland, and they don't know what to do with him. But out of all the charcters in Book 1 he's had the most improvements I feel. I don't hate him anymore and that's saying something.

Are people really mad about kuvi being evil? At this point she's essentially hitler in intention and actions lol.

Nah. Some of us just don't want her to be evil just to be evil (ie. Her sole motivation is to be powerful. Like an Ozai character). There is potential to do something really great with this political storyline but I think it requires Kuvira and the people behind it to be morally grey. Or at least, to have some strong convictions why they think this is right (even if they are bad). I think in general it's always more interesring when villains are more complex.

Zaheer was bad, but he really believed in his philosophies. He wasn't about getting power or being for himself. He thought it was the right way for the world. Anyways Kuvira is obviously going to be bad. That's how the format works with traditional storytelling and conflict (unless there is a bigger villain introduced later and she ends up not being bad).

Edit: there is nothing wrong with evil charcters just being evil though. As long as they are well designed and fun to watch. Unalaq wasn't, and I think that's why he failed as an antagonist.

Also I guess you are right with dictators like Hitler. So I suppose she doesn't need to be morally grey for this political plot. I personally want that. But I'll be okay with her being mustache twirling villain as long as she continues being menacing and cool to watch. So great points.

I don't think anyone is mad though. Some of us love Kuvira and are just joking around.

i rly wish they would just dump all the episodes online or on netflix. I might have to just wait for the entire season, 20 minutes is just not enough lol, so thirsty after every episode.

So what do you guys think about what Toph said to Korra at the end? Do you really think that's why Korra hasn't been able to get over her issues? I mean that's probably what it's going to be. When I first heard her say it, I was with Korra when she said "that's ridiculous!" (even though I did notice the obvious stumble) but after thinking about it for a bit, it seems plausible. The Zaheer stuff has obviously scarred her and she's afraid to be put in a position like that again.

Can't bend out the PTSD

The dimension for the avatar was kind of hard (because of her hair). I made two of them:

Current bets:

So only Trey and Tuck have lost so far. lol I think Trey changed his to Toph avatar.

I'll change my avatar to that if Makorra happens this season. And keep it for half a year.

Hell just throw me in the running, If Makorra happens the first person to quote gets to pick what my avatar is for six months. Only stipulation is that the avatar has to be avatar/korra related.

Jealous of all these avatar bets, I wanna join!

Toph will lose a match against Kuvira. Avatar change for a month if wrong.

As much as I think Toph is a badass, sort of feels like she's going to be a stepping stone to show Kuvira's strength.

Ruh oh.

Wasn't interested in her when I met and she's definitely giving signs and being flirty.
Having a great time though so far. She's super into Avatar. Also likes Kuvira. Also no Yaoi.

Get her to join GAF, it's the only logical thing to do in this situation.

She actually brought over her Animal Crossing 3DS to play Smash. She's never heard of GAF though. Don't know if she has a professional email.

I'll add this.

At the end of the day though it's a children's show and I whole heartedly agree as long she's cool to watch kicking ass no problems here.

I was kidding but cool that you asked!

What if she finds GAF, this thread, and these posts? @_@

Then I'm fucked. Sall good. Already got cancer nothing can impact me.

Edit: I would feel bad though. Should learn my lesson from all the fools posting on Off Topic for personal advice and it back firing lmao :p

That girl with cancer I met at the doctors office hit me up, and wants to come hang out at my house. She hasn't seen the last Korra, so we are going to watch it. Pretty cool. I've never been able to watch Korra with a friend. So should be fun. Also be nice, since I live in a big two story house by myself. It's always empty.
We all knew something would come from that, good luck and have fun.

Kuvira instantly became so boring with the evil smirks and the one liners, the stern and stoic exterior should have remained that way a while longer.

Well then. My hunch was right. She just left and she went in for a kiss as she was leaving. Damn. She said we should hang out again. I'm torn. First off I had a really good time. She loves Korra and it was fun watching it with a fellow fan. Also she plays games and was really good at Smash. But the best thing is that it was nice to be able to talk to someone about this cancer and treatment since she's going through the same thing. We talked quite a bit about it. But I wasn't going into this for that reason.

Ah well. I think I'm just going to go for it. Person I liked won't ever like me so I should just move on. So I think I'm going to move on. Wish me luck guys! I guess either way I got some more support for this. I've been super lucky this past week. I really needed a break for a year and now I'm getting it.

Edit: sorry for the off topic talk.

Personally like her. But I agree. Not a fan of the evil visual cues and the dialogue. It comes off as like, the audience is dumb and needs to be told. Granted, kids do watch this show lol

I always get what I want...

Off topic talk is fine, we all care. Have fun with it and to be honest moving on is part of the healing process. Kuvira is fine, she's a lot better at being a villain than Unalaq.
She should march on Zaofu blasting this:

The shipping IS real.

Do kids even watch Korra anymore? I can't imagine them going to nick.com every friday to watch. A few probably do but I imagine that most of the kids who watched Korra on TV don't even bother with the show anymore.

Yeah I don't think so. It's def more aimed at young adults. And most ATLA fans would be older. So you are right. I don't get why they are making the Kuvira stuff so on the nose.
