For some reasons, beside the #1 screen, i think it looks worse than the previous one. A little too blocky. But it is still the best looking JRPG (FFXIII aside)

Let's hope it doesn't take a whole year to get ported to the PS3.

Is there any chance, however small, of this game going multi-plat closer to the 360 release date?

I'm a big fan of Star Ocean so I guess I may just have to buy a 360 for this and Fable II.

hope this is an upward sloping trend.

Still not a fan of the character design. What's the deal with that green dude?

Hmm....

I doubt Tri Ace is supporting PS3.

is this mass effect the jap ver?
I don't think this version will have massive screen tearing, annoying texture pop-in, and shitty framerate.

Yeah I know, curses! Gotta dig the new price point too, hmmm.

Why is that anyway? Til the End of Time sold very well in the US on the PS2, so I guess with the 360 having the largest install base in the US it just makes sence financially? Or did something go down between Tri-Ace and Sony?

They've never flat out denied a PS3 version, I've always just seen the usual non-commital 'no-plans' comment in interviews.

They already confirmed the engine of SO4 is multiplatform, but why should you wait one more year for a port if you want to play the game so much right now?

Snarky, for sure.

But to the actual question...I'd love to see the level of writing, cinematics and story of ME in a Sci-Fi JRPG.

Mass Effect absolutely nailed it IMO.

The game had technical issues for sure, but what it got right was outstanding. One of those games where the good far outweighs the bad.

Hopefully SO4 lives up to that same standard.

I'm a postgraduate student and thus I'm a bit too cheap to buy a system for one game. Every time more info for this game comes out the closer I get to buying a 360 Elite though. I'm patient enough to wait anyway, hell I havn't even started the SO remakes on PSP yet so they'd keep me occupied, kinda.

I read somewhere that this will/is using the IU engine...overall IU was pretty good graphic wise and it seems they improved on it as well, looks great so far.

Because not everyone owns all consoles?

I wouldn't doubt it.
Thankfully the battles are 60 FPS this time.

Good luck on the multiplatform prayers by the way. Tri-Ace has never done a port so even if SO4's engine is multiplatform it's possible the same team wouldn't be doing the PS3 version(TOSE maybe? They've done all of Tri-Ace's PSP ports)

I always find this funny. When I played ME, I had a near flawless experience with it. I didn't really have any technical issues. However, I'm deep into fable 2, and its been a NIGHTMARE. It's so glicthly and doesn't run smoothly, bitch locked up on me 3 times last night within 2 min of booting. Argh.

Honestly, SO4 wow'd me a lot more when first shown. Now the effect is much less, but I do love tri-ace, so here's hoping. SO3 was such a poor product I really hope they rebooted here however.

+1 Tri-Ace for including Character Portraits in dialog Boxes. Too many JRPGs have dropped that.

Typical Tri-Ace crappy character designs. What I wouldnt give for another Tri-Ace game as good as the original Valkyrie Profile!

Looks amazing. I really can't wait to play this.

...but I need a 360 first. It'd make it easier on me if they ported to PS3, but I'll probably have to get a 360 eventually anyway.

Looks amazing! Aside from the guy dressed in green, who looks like a Metroid Prime "Samus and her Shitty Friends" reject.

The spaceship also reminds me a bit of the Vic Viper...

wtf at xboxman.

The graphics look really nice, but I'm going to remain cautious after how much I disliked SO3.

At least this one will actually be a RPG instead of a crappy 3rd person shooter with vague RPG elements!

The sad part of this quote is that the crappy 3rd person shooter with vague RPG elements still is one of the best rpgs this gen.

Well, consider that there are like five RPGs this generation. I'm not sure you're saying anything at all.

And, again, this if we even count it as a RPG. I mean, if ME is a RPG, Devil May Cry probably is too.

*sigh* I wish there was another game other than this I wanted to play on the 360. Can't justify spending 300 bucks just to play Star Ocean.

I'm saying the same as you're doing. This gen sucks for rpgs, especially jrpgs.

And DMC is an over-the-top action game, I read it on GAF.
