At the rate the Xbox One price is dropping you might be better off waiting for next fall when it hits $199. By fall 2016 it could be $50, if you're patient.
So we're back to the "Microsoft doesn't give a crap about months that aren't October > December" already? Still, it would be very strange if they didn't keep the price cut. It'd be bait to get sales for Nov-Dec but throwing their hands up for everything after which is really not an image they want to project. Corporate speak decoded; They're desperate for a few NPD wins for PR purposes and then have few real plans for the next 10 months (so probably until Halo 5). They're probably dipping into the territory of losing money on each sale, especially in the third-party game bundles, so I'm wondering how much leeway they'll get there for the higher-ups.

Even if they sell 1M per month, thats only a 50M loss per month, that's pocket change to them

Highly doubt that it will be a permanent drop. Thats 150 bucks off and not even a year in. Means they are losing money on the hardware at this point.nah this is going to be permanent after the limited time only expires, probably standalone for only $349, limited offer is a bundled game right?
You forgot about Live, plus new consumers they would gain, 50M hardware loss per month is nothingYe i bet investors would be overjoyed that they are losing 50 mil per 1 million units and that's without the bundled games they are giving away.
Yeah I got mine for 290 including halo collection from tesco few weeks back. Gaffer posted the deal from hotdealsuk.comYou can get it for £290, just need to know where to look.
People pretending this deal is better than 400$ + a free game. Or better than 450$ + Titanfall, Kinect, and a year of Live.
I don't see why Sony should do anything The PS4 is going to sell, and nobody outside of Microsoft (or certain forum enthusiasts) is going to care if Microsoft wins NPD by a small amount. No way does this remotely even things world-wide.
They have to be cheaper then the PS4 if they want to gain back marketshare. It's that simple.

It begs the question of, if this isn't wildly successful, how much longer does the Xbox division get to go while burning raw cash on this of all things? Microsoft has an endless supply of money but this is a pretty low-priority area for running through a surplus, especially since there's no immediate sign of return on it. Sony was forced to stick it out for the sake of the entire company. Microsoft's situation is different.Even if they sell 1M per month, thats only a 50M loss per month, that's pocket change to them
It applies to any bundle, so it is 350 for a console and free game. 2 free games for the AC bundle. 450 for Cod bundle with 1 TB.People pretending this deal is better than 400$ + a free game. Or better than 450$ + Titanfall, Kinect, and a year of Live.
What happens to the people who pre-ordered SO bundle? Is it late for them?
The price of the standalone unit without Kinect is dropped to 349$. That doesn't mean that bundles with games included are sold at this price. Apparently, the CoD limited edition bundle is 449$.
$50 off the console of your choice applies to any Xbox One console, including special edition bundles, offering some of the year’s most anticipated games – Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Sunset Overdrive.
Shhhh, fanboys do not use logic. They choose not to read a press release all the way. It's in the OP.
My disc drive broke on my launch console. Thank god we went with disc drives inside consoles now.So... is there a way to euthanize my old 360 so I could justify a new console purchase?
Another price cut? I can't think of any other console that's seen so many cuts in it's first year on the market.

Pre-orders literally hours from shipping out and this deal starts in November so, yeah, I'd have to think so.What happens to the people who pre-ordered SO bundle? Is it late for them?
