Okay, then let's not use "don't care." let's use the actual phrasing where publishers allegedly consider shipped the same as sold.

They do not. Otherwise the credit system used by publishers with GameStop or the re-categorization of SKU from new to used wouldn't have been a big deal so many years ago.
To be fair... I never used the term "don't care".

I was just saying the crux of his argument was true. Of course they care. Nobody wants to eat the cost of a failed product. But the point of sale for a manufacturer/publisher is when the order is place. Be it through Wal-Mart, Amazon, or the GameCube Hut.

dude, this is hilarious. you don't even know why I was demodded. You have it completely wrong. This completely made up story of yours doesn't even share any similarities with why I was demodded lol

You're getting called out for being a Microsoft shill and obvious fanboy. That's what you are. own it bro. No shame in it.

Yeah it's really hard for me to hold off. But ID@Xbox parity clause...

Nah bro, I'm on a hiatus from gaming at the moment, it's just over sensitive, posters such as yourself who overreact whenever someone says something postitive about Xbox. Honestly this crusade you're on is hilarious.

Come on people, you know we would all benefit if you all stopped replying to Hindle right? Then we wouldn't have to read his nonsense so often.

I thought this would work for dealing with Republican craziness...it doesn't!

"Man Sunset Overdrive is a fun game!"

"Yeah man I've been meaning to check that out."

vs.

"Hello my name is Hindle, I make up shit out of thin air and then stubbornly repeat it over and over again with the idea that if I state it enough times it will become true."

There's a big difference there man.

Also, calling me stupid means that you are indeed the one being oversensitive.

At this point we all can safely see who is on a crusade and who isn't.

You need to back away from your computer before it's too late.

Man you people really are killing each other over this sale stuff. Microsoft PR spin - so what? that's their god damn job. They are not talking to GAF, they are talking to general public and shareholders. Give them a break you all.

"They are not managing to mislead you, so surely you shouldn't care!"

Hohohoho is that right? I'll need to see proof

I agree with you that that is the considered the point of sale, but sold-in and sold-through are not the same to a publisher exactly for the reasons I mentioned with the credit system and the changing of SKU.
I also read that WalMart has enough power that they only pay what they actually sell, instead of the more common buyback scenarios when a product fails.

Assuming I wasn't lied to by people that work/worked at GameSpot and industry people then the crux of his argument is still flawed.

Edit: Just to make sure, I'm talking about the actual real world relationships by publishers and retailers here. Not me the individual selling an undesirable product to retailers with no long-term relationship.

Bish.

What's ironic is how on a neutral gaming forum, (as stated on the main page) that we have you as a mod who is openly bias.

Now that's hilarious.

A neutral gaming forum where posting is a privilege not a right... As far as I can tell no human on earth exists that is 100% neutral... being human requires people to have preferences. There is no reason to be confrontational.

Is anybody surprised by that? They're being more aggressive right now, and sony hasn't made a move. Not necessarily that they have to, but it may have been a smart move to keep the momentum up.

Absolutely agreed. Sony may lose this holiday season because they're not being aggressive enough, giving MS some momentum. And a little momentum goes a long way.

It's been more than a decade since I was in retail, so there probably has been a range of changes in that timespan.

Yea, good advice.

Being spoken to like that isn't something I'll ever stand for, if that gets me banned, so be it.

Thanks for calm head lol.

So what about the momentum Sony has had for a while now? Does that disappear because of the MS momentum? Law of physics?

So, keeping with the topic at hand here, it's nice to see the Xbox One picking up more traction these holiday months. I very much enjoy mine.

Yeaaah, I'm very sensitive. they say it's all the lavender scented candles I was given as a boy.

Ah, I love GAF so much

I'd argue Microsoft's aggressive pricing could take away some of the PS4's selling momentum. But we'll have to see if that actually turns out to be the case.

Oh man this guy. I'm going to grab some popcorn

It's not even remotely true though. He literally pulled the story from his ass, just like his Microsoft predictions lol

I don't know what's true or not.........but he's going crazy. lol.

I'm imagining batman interrogating the joker in TDK.

This just sounds like spin for losing October NPD to me.

I am very well connected, particularly compared to you. Your sources consist of the Halo 3 Legendary Edition cat helmet, Speedy Blue Dude, and the imaginary notes Larry Hyrb writes on your bathroom mirror after a shower.

Dead

They dont need to be aggressive right now.

They will sale alot of systems on Black Friday and the rest of the year

anyway, so... while we're here.

Where DOES GAF think the Xbox One will settle at the end of the year sold-through to consumers? What number are we looking for on December 31?
