Hope this is not too off topic, but there's no official Origin topic AFAIK

I'm considering playing Dragon Age 2 in preparation for Inquisition

How long is that game? is there any must-have DLC?

Its 7 pounds on GAME

How does the DRM on origin work? It shows me prices in euro, will I have any problems if I buy the code from GAME?
If you played on casual and stuck to the main quests you could probably finish it in a weekend.

I mean because of Denuvo (PC).

Right now I'm fine with having internet but sometimes my internet goes into a maintenance phase or sometimes for some reason storms screw up my ISP for a bit. I have had to depend on my games that don't require internet. I even made a separate category for games that require internet and games that don't on steam.

Here's what Derek French had to say:

"Will Dragon Age: Inquisition for PC Windows require the Origin client: Yes.

Will Dragon Age: Inquisition for PC Windows require a permanent internet connection: No.

Will Dragon Age: Inquisition for PC Windows require a one-time activation through Origin via the internet (just like Mass Effect 3 PC): Yes."

I blew through it last week in like 16 hours but missed out on a bunch of stuff. If you want to get the main plot and all your companions stuff done you are probably looking at 25 ish hours

If you just want to power through DA2 to get the story and characters you could probably beat it over the weekend no issue playing on easy or normal, especially if you use cheats or a guide to ignore the more meaningless side quests.

Even then DA2 is around 35-40 hours normally to complete everything. Legacy DLC is a must, Mark of the Assassin is OK, better or worse depending on how you feel about Felicia Day.

they updated the article

you can see rockstar in the list

Grand Theft Auto V PC Won’t Use Denuvo DRM on Top of Steam (UPDATED), http://www.*****************/2014/1...pc-version-to-use-denuvo-drm-on-top-of-steam/

Edit: NeoGAF blocks Dual Shockers from being linked? Well here few more sites says that GTAV wont use Denuvo, http://www.escapistmagazine.com/new...eft-Auto-V-PC-Denuvo-DRM-Next-Gen-Screenshots and http://www.incgamers.com/2014/11/grand-theft-auto-v-will-not-use-denuvo-drm-says-company-co-owner

So it's safe to buy Mexican edition using VPN?

"Safe" as according Origin EULA they can ban your account or take purchase rights away from your account for doing it. That said I have never seen proof of that being happened to anyone.

About 25 hours if you stick to story/character quests. Legacy is a must-have.

Nope. Only need ot be online for activation, then you're golden.

Heck well then, I don't see how this can mess me up, I am happy. I bet the other case of Denuvo screwing with games is because it was a Ubisoft game. (Just remembered it was Shadow of Morridor)

Like the other guy said, you can finish it in a weekend, though you might want to start soon if you want to finish in time for Inquisition on Monday.

DA2 is about 30 to 40 hours, assuming you try and skip some of the non essential sidequests and save your pennies during act 1 (which won't be hard to do since the quest areas are repeated ad-nauseum and you probably won't want to do many sidequest because of that, and also because combat sucks).

Origin just requires you to install the client to install the game. You launch the game and that's that. It doesn't ahve to be running I don't believe.

I've never touched Legacy. When's the best time in the game to approach it?

I usually play it in Act 3 since the Act's content is sparse otherwise. Your sibling (if alive) will also have their unique tree by then (Force Mage for Bethany).

When you still have a sibling around for some additional dialogue, but really anytime is fine I think.

Even if you play in Act 2 or 3 your sibling will return for the DLC.

If you played on casual and stuck to the main quests you could probably finish it in a weekend.

You can also use this mod (need to be on Casual difficulty for it to work): http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage2/mods/3818/?
It doesn't eliminate all fights or auto-kill it just makes all the enemies have much lower health.

I wouldn't bother with any of the dlc because that's spending more money on a game that's already not worth it.

If you're going to quote the spoiler pics, at least remove the image links from your quote. The more it shows up, the more likely someone is going to unintentionally click.

Thanks for all the answers!

I'm gonna buy it and I'm actually not rushing to finish it because I usually don't buy games at full price, so it will probably be a while before I buy Inquisition

Seems like it would be best to leave spoilers out of the thread, and wait until the spoiler topic to go up along with the OT.. I think Dawg/Shinobi will be making it.

Would really suck for someone to get spoiled at this point :/

If you run through Dragon Age II, make your main a sword and board warrior, and get the skill that gives everyone +def if they're within 10 yards of you. Then choose all melee companions, and activate their passive defense skills. You become a melee pain train that can buzz saw through 99% of the encounters in the game. However, you'll need a secondary, ranged party for a few boss fights.

Those receipts are always in Spanish when ordering from promised land of viva la revolution. Game has always been in Eng.

I'm not against DRM as long it doesn't fuck legit consumer into ass, but too often legit user has more issues with DRMs than pirates which is fucking sad.

Missed your reply, thanks thats reassuring :D

Since more are asking for it:
Don't think there is a fully compiled list yet. Someone created a site, and already uploaded some at:
http://dragoninquisition.com/skills/

But since it's not complete, the others can be found here:
*Specializations
*General trees
Yeah I saw that but wondering how many trees a max level character will be able to complete... Not sure if its in that guide or I'm just missing it.
You gain a talent point per level. There seems to be a soft limit on how many levels you can gain, which is around 25-27. Most players will end around level 20-23 if you don't follow all the side quests.

Once you choose your class (mage, warrior, rogue/archer) at the beginning, you will have access to 3 different trees. Each tree has 12 talents. Later, you will have to pick a Specialization, which has 11 talents. So, during a regular play, you should be able to max at least 2 of any of those trees. Or spread your points in all of them.

Dragon Age 2 is friggin long. It took me 40 hours to beat, but I think it's worth playing through it once. The reason why it's disliked mostly has to do with the consoleification vs. DA:O's excellent PC controls, reused environments and a story that's still relatively unresolved when you reach the credits, although I think the biggest stinger is the lack of replayability. You end up the same place no matter what and there's just too little choice/consequence to the major beats in the game.

But like I said. It's still enjoyable and worth playing if you can manage to beat it before tuesday/friday.

Piracy has fucked my favorite gaming platform up the ass since time immemorial. Kind of despise it and the cheap jack-holes who participate in it.

So yeah, I'm all for DRM, so long as it doesn't interfere with me as a payign customer in ANY meaningful way.

I'm not sure why anyone would think otherwise... If the game runs fine, performas well and doesn't require you to be online 24/7 while playing it, why would you care?

You know what killed Bullfrog, Ensemble Studios, Westwood, Origin, Lucasarts and many other great Pc developers? Big AAA Publishers. You know who filled the PC market with always online games, micro-transactions, invasive DRM, anti-consumer practices? Publishers. You know who hiked pc game prices? Publishers.

Big publishers have done more to fuck up PC gaming than pirates have ever managed.

Missed your reply, thanks thats reassuring :D

Just to put all worry away here is screencaps of my localization folders when having purchased from Mexico.

Literally finished it yesterday in preparation for DA:I.
Took me about 20 hours on casual mode doing nothing but main story and companion quests. (Merill, Varric, Isabela and Aveline. Fuck Anders and I never got that other guy.)
Some cheats were used because I wanted to get the game finished as quick as possible so I'd say you're probably looking at about 22 maybe 23 hours if you play legit.

Must have DLCs though I'm not sure because I never bought any but from the looks of things Legacy seems to be the only one worth having.

Not sure if it's worthwhile to play it, but if someone wants to go for it, play it on EASY/Normal and stick to the main quests. Then check a walkthrough to see how to get those companions that do not appear on the critical path.

Whatever you do, DO NOT play it on Hard or Nightmare. It does not improve the experience, it just makes each fight incredibly longer and way more boring. Trust me on this.

Also,
pick Sarcastic responses.
You want it.

It's not that bad... still pretty bad though. I started a run in order to quench my thirst since I knew I couldn't tackle DA:O again, much less end it before DA:I.

I'm loathing the reused assets again but it's pulled me in, I'm almost finishing act 2 with all the side stuff completed, the characters just keep me on the loop and I try my best to ignore all the flawed stuff. Playing after some time and knowing what to expect helps though.

Also, yeah sarcastic Hawke is best Hawke.

I dont know about you guys but knowing that enemy is the first boss makes me want the game more. I want to see how that comes up.

But how do you actually move your guys like he did? I couldn't tell how to do it.

A to select. Depending on what the cursor is over will determine what it does. Over an enemy it will select to attack, if on open terrain it will select to move there. If on open terrain and you hold A it will select to move to that position and hold that position, which is good for warriors who you want to maintain a position or choke point to keep enemies around.
