Good idea, I'll mention it too. Though I'm quite sure they don't pay much attention to Club Nintendo outside of demographic data.

Anyway, some impressions about online from the last few pages:

You should take my quote out, that's me just being surprised by all the positive reactions here to the online play. I'm still waiting on my copy (and the Wii U). There are some negative opinions of the MP, but they seem to be in the minority. I'll be playing wired to be on the safe side.

Two questions:

1) is Magicant an unlockable stage in the Wii U version? That's the one level I wish carried over from the 3DS game.
2) any news on there being more than one piece of music from
Wonderful 101
's soundtrack?

Thanks.

Oops, sorry about that. Just grabbed some quick quotes.

1) No. :(
2) I don't know.

There are at least two!

To everyone currently enjoying Smash U, please direct your thoughts and prayers toward those of us yet in the shackles of the 9-5 work week, unable to make a Pikachu and a Samus fight.

No and yes there is at least 2 musics from that game you mentioned.

Morning gentlemen. My plan of staying up to play failed since I am an old man. So, how is the online, better than the DS one?

so good.

NOOOOOOOO!!!! I loved having all my favorite ALTS remembered. :(

Maybe because they expect the WiiU version to used by multiple people, whereas a single 3DS copy belongs to one person.

I kind of like setting my color every time, though! Makes it feel more special for some reason...

Hello,
to who ever has played the game,
I know the Smash Bros Brawl: Sub-Space Emissary mode is missing right?
however do any of the game modes resemble it in any way?

Like beating baddies on a side scroller stages?

It could be worse, could be European for the week...

Yeah, this seems like a deliberate decision. It's not a big deal, but the saved alts were nice.

Has anyone tried out the amiibo stuff yet? I'm curious what you can teach them, and what modes they're available in. Can you take one along for Classic?

Also can you teach them some non-obvious tech, like making a Peach amiibo learn to ground-hover?

Still have to wait a week here...

That's a good point, I think that's exactly it.

And I like setting the color too. It took a long time on 3DS to break the habit of pressing X/Y immediately after choosing character every time.

You can't take the Amiibo into Classic or All-Star mode iirc. Only available in some co-op modes.

Also... MY COPY JUST CAME IN WTF THIS EARLY!? BUT... I HAVEN'T EATEN YET OR DONE ANYTHING ELSE THAT I NEED TO DO TODAY. URGH.

I only played one match last night, but it honestly seemed smoother than any match I played on the 3DS.
I didn't play online, but it felt a lot smoother to me even locally.

I guess I underestimate how much the smoother visuals and animations must be contributing to the feel of the game.

it's def. not ggpo good, but i'd put it on the level with street fighter iv (which is great, imo)

I don't expect it to be quite as good as offline, but if it's very close I'm happy. I hope people play with a wired connection, that will probably make a big difference.

Why doesn't this game seem to persistently remember my control scheme selections and my character color choices, the way the 3DS version does? It's really annoying having to re-select this stuff every time I enter a new match.

The only thing that was slightly jarring to me was that -- playing on the TV -- input lag was noticeable to me vs. all this time playing on the 3DS. I didn't try playing on the GamePad as a comparison. Sadly, I didn't have a lot of time last night. I was up until 1 AM when the game unlocked at 11 PM (again, that went amazingly smoothly), but I had to get back to work. So, I only played about 15 minutes.

I wish I had your problems :(

#FirstWorldProblems

Dat Best Buy express shipping really was worth it, good lord.

Also, the GCN controller def. feels different from the ones I have -- I'm probably going to stick with my already broken-in White GCN controller but it definitely isn't a bad thing to have another Gamecube controller in the long-run.

I'm sorry for asking this, but has anyone's orders from Best Buy shipped yet? I ordered my copy a month or so ago and it still hasn't shipped yet

The 3DS version was supposed to be a more "personal" Smash experience. You wouldn't have to change your character colors or control scheme because you were the only one playing that particular copy.

I have a smaller monitor, so the lag isn't usually bad enough for me to notice, thankfully. I was worried Smash would be the game to really make it apparent for me.

But I was the same way timewise. Spent about 15 minutes on this, about 5 playing ORAS, and had to submit to sleep. Stupid work, haha.

Heading to pick this up on lunch along with Pokemon and possibly a few other things. I'll definitely be up for some online tonight.

How are you all liking using a gamecube controller vs Wii U pro controller?

So excited to get on this tonight! The kids and I were just watching some streams before they had to head off to school. Looks amazing.
