Pretty much the same deal for me tonight. 8 player Smash is going to be madness, 6 was already crazy enough.

The music in this game is incredible. That Metroid title remix makes me melt. Also why is there a random ass Golden Sun song on Norfair?

Brawl had it, too. To be fair, it's a good song.

You're right, it is. Totally slipped my mind.

Intentional bad decision or glitch, I guess we'll find out in due time.

Those are the correct first things to do.

It's likely just an oversight on their part. Hopefully it gets patched, but we'll see. I've never really used the c-stick for Smash attacks, so I'm not really going to lose anything by switching it over to "Attack"

Feels weird seeing all these so hard to find posts when...

I walked into Walmart this morning. Got all amiibos GC controller adapter and the game off the shelf and walked out.

Feel bad for some of.you.

I enjoyed SSE for the boss battles, the cutscenes, the less disjointed nature of the mode (Melee felt like moving through a random assortment of battles with no real link to each other, basically Classic mode but with some travelling portions) and i also enjoyed the entire capturing enemies thing that it had with the trophy stands.

That's not to say SSE was perfect (A SSE with Smash Run enemies to replace the generic ones would be great for example) but in comparison Melee's adventure mode just felt too barebones/rushed as a mode.
Ok, I can kinda see what you mean with that.

I think one of the things at the core of it, is that I have a preference for the shorter, replay focused mode more than the expansive mode with persistent progress and narrative. The use of cutscenes tying SSE levels together is nice. Melee had the one from Samus to Kirby I think? But for the most part yeah, it felt like you were just kinda randomly touring through the Smash worlds.

What I was getting at with the random comment before is the way classic mode is handled post-64. Rather than feeling like a meaningful progression of interesting stages, it becomes a matter of going to fight a team of some character and some other character, or playing a match with a random special effect. I see why it needs to be that way, since there's more stuff in these games than you can fit in a quick, arcade mode kind of play through. It just felt to me like Adventure mode was a strong balance of interesting settings, matches, and gameplay variations. I always enjoyed playing through it.

But it sounds like we like a lot of the same things about SSE, so that's cool. ^.^ I agree it would be even better with Smash Run style enemies.

they really should've given pac-land a different unlock requirement

... but, nonetheless, that's all the characters and stages unlocked in about 2.5 hours of playtime. now, to go for music...

I think i might use palutena. Also, you don't have to kill yourself whenever I do something stupid lol

I like the way you were playing her. Not used to seeing people stick to her fast moves, haha.

Huh, guess I forgot. And yeah it's not bad, just super random and unfitting on a Metroid stage. I would think it would be on a Fire Emblem stage or something.

Omega mode makes My Music so much more exciting. It was amazing in Brawl, but we'd always end up playing on like 3 stages, two of which had Smash themed music (BF and FD)it kind of died out. Now that any stage is viable, I'm so pumped about this.

Do events/classic and get as many crazy orders passes as possible, then do crazy orders and only pick events with CDs as the reward.

Has anybody gotten their gamecube controller adapters? Adapters that DIDN'T come with the bundle?
I was able to go buy one, no pre order or anything. But they seem to be hard to come by and going fast.

I lucked out. People are coming by tonight or tomorrow, and we're gonna need those adapters.

I'm really surprised how much Nintendo underships. I mean I guess I understand that they don't wanna overdo it for a potentially niche product. But they could have at least made enough so that preorders didn't sell out a month in advance. ;-;

Seriously. As much as I complain about the lacking platforms/stage variety, being able to play with any music (and have fun at the same time with my not-too-crazy stages preferences) is great.

Am I misunderstanding? The WiiU Pro Controller comes with a USB charging cable, and the battery lasts for eons.

My bundle is out for delivery so I should have it when I get home, but question for anyone that has it...is the controller cable 6ft or 10ft? I was really hoping they were 10ft like the ones japan released around Brawl...

Played 7 player at lunch with co-workers. SO MUCH FUN, but damn is it chaotic. Almost no strategy. Played with just about every controller but the Game Cube one. Using a 3DS as a controller works surprisingly well. I thought it was going to be a hassle but it worked without a hitch.

What I found hilarious was that I played as Shulk and literally no one knew who he was. Had to keep explaining over and over. Shows how much of a JRPG nerd I am, lol.

I know custom controls are attached to a profile, but does anyone know if he only way to use it is to select it every time you select your character (or maybe it's every time you change modes)?

Seems annoying. I was hoping I could just change the default configuration and leave it, at least having it stay the same for one controller/player as long as the game is not turned off.

Looks like I need to get a Pro Controller. This is the first game that remote and nunchuck are not sufficient, and holding that wide ass game pad with its small battery when the touch screen does absolutely nothing (seriously, you can't even use it to navigate menus) seems silly.
