I decided to play smash a bit today, but I will not be playing the game a lot in the next couple of weeks.I'm up for a few matches once I customize the controls for the pro controller
 
No GameCube adapters to be found obviously, but I think I'm still going to buy the game tomorrow anyways and just deal with playing with the big ass Wii U pad.

Haven't seen the pic but I know of these.
 
Just went into best buy to pick up my Smash bundle with controller!

They didn't get enough to fill all the preorders, so they said I was out of luck!

Played for 5 hour non stop today with my beloved GF and my beloved sister-in-law.

The game is gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood, man.
8 characters battle is INSANE.

It's very pleasant to play a non-emulated Smash in 1080p, no jaggies, no issues.
Love the game forever. Good bye Melee.
 
I don't have a WiiU or this game yet but anyone using a Wii Classic Pro for this?

I can get one for $10, and thinking I will pick it up since I can use it for Xenoblade (when I play).
 
Totally forgot to even check out my amiibos lol spent 5 hours unlocking all characters and stages and doing random matches. This game is amazing

I transferred a fighter with critical hit equipment from the 3DS to make it easier.

Also, add me. : p NNID is JpBeats.
 
I played some rounds with the Hori Gamecube controller and I actually like it better than the official Smash controller.
Mostly because buttons are the same, triggers make more sense, and no rumble to distract you.
 
Finally shipped. Says it will arrive Monday. Thanks Best Buy.

It's only a couple hours away so maybe it will manage to arrive tomorrow.

you can play with the big wii u controller no problem. the smaller controllers feel leaner and meaner, sure, and a lot of people are just used to the gamecube controller for smash -- but yeah, the wii u controller is totally fine. I would not worry.
 
Stupid question but if you unlocked characters in the 3DS version, do you unlock them for Wii U as well?

I feel like I have every character and I just turned the game on.

Nope. There's just a ton of characters. Notice who's missing.

KIRBY BITCHES!

To elaborate just a bit on that, I skipped Wii all together and therefore skipped Brawl all together. Gamecube and Melee were big fixtures in my house, though, during those years -- And my main dudes were Kirby and Bowser.

Basically, after 10 years in retirement, I'm back -- Ready to regain the crown -- and I'm starting where I left off: Kirby.
 
I feel bad for the people not getting their adapters at best buy. I walked up to the customer service counter and just bought one.
