making omega stages of every level was a brilliant move, keeps 1v1 for glory super fresh. thank you, namco.

I do wish that you could have the option for some battlefield-esque variants in for glory, though. It's not like one big long flat line is the only possible competitive stage option. :(

Placed second today in a local tournament, 38 players. Some mean competition, and I can count the amount of "What the hell, Game and Watch is good?" Was said. Met my end to a DDD on a bad counter pick. Tourney went real smooth. Can't wait for GAF tourneys

That you can't set a default profile is bullshit.

Yeah it sucks for off-tv play especially as I want shield on the Zr and Zl (as well as for the Pro Controller) and want Y as grab.

eh they'll probably patch that

They need to be Battlefield versions with platforms to be more neutral. Platforms are a big part of Smash gameplay.

that's true, probably something easy to add if fan feedback is strong

Designing platforms for every single stage in both versions of the game would be far too much to ask for a patch.

Your best bet is a toggle for stuff like Yellow Devil.

It sounds easy, but making platforms for every single style of stage would get pretty tedious and time consuming for a fairly minor addition to the game.

level designers could crank that out in a few weekends, i used to do far heavier alterations to natural selection maps.

they don't need to generate unique assets, they got plenty of prefabs.

Those same artists could also spend that time making entirely new stages/costumes/etc for a much bigger impact on the game.

Versus something like a hazard toggle, which is just toggling something that already exists since when facing unlockables or playing All Star certain hazards are off and they'd just need a button prompt to allow us to turn those on.

that's fair

Oh! Just realized you can use Custom Characters in Crazy Orders...makes things SO MUCH EASIER.

And it's really not as stingy as I thought it'd be. Even when I lose, I still end up keeping a good amount of shit so it's never a total blowout.

Now to find the best way to grind coins. When you earn coins in Smash, how is that based on? Time played? KO'S?

F-Zero feels so forgotten in this game, which is only made worse by how it mirrors its status at Nintendo at large. Seeing brand new stages like Orbital Gate Assault just makes me disappointed that there's no new F-Zero stage in the first HD Smash and it's stuck with a stage with Brawl level assets that's probably among the returning stages that got the least amount of visual upgrading.

Earthbound at least got a new Assist Trophy and a good selection of new remixes. F-Zero got... a single remix of a song that's been in every Smash since Melee. And that's it.

On the other hand, there's like three F-Zero Trophy Stands, so it seems there's a lot of Trophies. Most are I think imported from Brawl, but a few seem new (was James Fox in Brawl?)

Speaking of Trophy Stands, seem some don't get it. Videoman or whatever doesn't, nor do a few items like the Pikmin Pellets (oddly enough), and the Nitro Crate.

:/
Tried everything, have everything unlocked, did over 100 for glory battles (won 65% of them)

but yeah, not sure what to do now. welp.

I just gotta face facts: I am garbage with Mega Man. Such a bummer. He was the character I was most looking forward to.

Guess I'll stick with Peach for now, but I need a good secondary. Maybe Ness. Now that I've finally played Earthbound I like that character a lot more.

Holy Moly fought some guy called WiiGi online and man I never fought such a good playing rob. I feel glad that I even got one stock off him by accident somehow. When attack grabbing the ledge. That actually made me legit challenged.

Which I did with Sonic for some reason I'm just much better with him then in brawl much easier to control and has a easier time killing now.

I wish the Omega version of Wuhu Island was on the swordfighting platform. Its Omega form feels too visually redundant with Pilotwings.

75M has probably my favorite Omega form in the game.

OKAY I need some advice.

My Smash Wii U game has been acting up. The opening intro movie stutters sometimes, and whenever I launch the game it says 'Preparing...' first, which never happened before. This started when I moved the game from my USB hard drive to the system memory. However when it was on my hard drive I noticed there was like a stutter during gameplay, just for a split second, the action skipped.

It's not game-breaking and it's usually fine during normal gameplay, but is anyone else having this issue?

I'm pretty happy with sonic in this game. Been doing work in for glory. If he had his fair from project m he'd be perfect but i guess I can live with his twirly move. Finally tried out villager and he's risen to the top of my favorite newcomers list. Definitely gonna try to make him a main.

For Glory mode is random with strangers right? Can you co-op against strangers with a friend locally or is it just 1v1 no matter what?

I'm getting that you can adjust rules and create lobbies and tournaments with friends only, to an extent, correct?

friend locally for 2v2, but not online friend. Unsure why, cause its stupid that you cant.

I became terrible haha. Its difficult to even beat level 5 CPUs for me. So sad. Having to use the pad or the pro controller is like re-learning the entire game, I have to think too much about what I'm doing and I suck :(.

Ugh release more GC adapters or someone give me pointers for the defaul settings haha

Ok seriously that "When Lightning Strikes" pikachu event can go fuck itself. Jesus christ...been trying for over an hour now and I hardly ever kill even ONE of them.

Actually, I've experienced this too. Stutters between the title menu and pressing start. Plus, I've had it a couple of times in single player matches. However, I'm running it on disc, so now I'm interested in what causes this.

What's the DL size? Wonder if it exceeds 25GB for the first time on Wii U.

Nope it's like around 13 GB (I don't know the exact amount off the top of my head).

I bet no Wii U game every goes past 25 GB. There's very little need to as even on the PS3 there were less than 10 games that were dual-layered. Also dual-layered discs create read problems for some units.

Finally it prevents people who don't have hard drives from downloading the game. I feel the 25 GB we get to use on Wii U was very deliberate.

I wonder if any game will beat Lego City with its 20 GB download.

Xenoblade X may. Especially if they include the Japanese track as well.

You unlocked EVERYTHING in a day?!

Well I meant stages and characters. Are there any other unlockables? I have 15 hours power on time and I did it a good 5 hours ago. 100~ online matches too, and i played some hours at a friends.

Sooooo yeah, I might be done until friends come over because uh...I dont want to do that challenge wall. May do some events >.>

He whipped my ass too, though it was my first game playing with Gamepad (never again). Fair'd me for days and that Usmash is a mean ass killing move.

Maybe ROB is decent, who knows.
