I'm pretty much never ever going back to the 3DS version outside from maybe transferring a custom character or two. The GC controller is just pure bliss compared to the awful 3DS circle pad.

I hope you can beat up level 9 CPUs easily, because amiibos at high levels have boosted attack
 
Amiibos are still unavailable here. so gotta ask this: can you use amiibos as a proxy players online? Not the For Fun/For Glory modes of course, but with friends. I just would like to have it trained by different people or just use it like a Pokemon lol.

Nope, offline Smash is the only set of modes you can use your Amiibo in.

My friend got her Yoshi to 50. We were playing FFA with 2 Amiibos, came down to me and her Yoshi and the fucker played the most annoying/masterful keep-away bullshit I've ever seen. She didn't have to but she apologized afterwards because she was ashamed of the damn thing. Yes, amiibos confirmed to cause shame with scumbag tactics.

Buffalo is having a massive endless blizzard from hell
I live east of Buffalo and the weather is fine
Amazon decided to ship my package through Buffalo and it got stuck on Thursday.
On Sunday they canceled the delivery of the package stuck in Buffalo and shipped a new order with my stuff, I guess assuming a new order would get here faster than waiting for Buffalo to stop being amid a snow apocalypse.
That order is now stuck in Buffalo because the geniuses drove through it again.
The heck Amazon? Why even bother the second time if you just ship it through Buffalo again and have the same issue...

Funny enough that order also has my GCN controller in it that I can't even use because I can't find an adapter lol

My level 50 Link is the most annoying opponent I've ever faced. If I get close, he just runs away and starts throwing projectiles at me all day. Then, he'll dash attack at me, run away and chuck bombs until I try to get close again. I shouldn't have chosen the Link amiibo. I should've known this was gonna happen lol.
 
Has anyone got a 3rd party USB Wii ethernet adaptor since official ones are no longer sold? Looking for a recommendation on a brand or something and where to buy in the UK if possible so I'm not buying some really cheap dodgy crap.

I also get hand cramps with the 3DS. I was in serious pain the first few days of Smash 3DS since I played almost nonstop when I had the time.
 
Are GCN controllers really that rare in the States. I almost feel I should buy them in the UK and ship some over because I don't they're going to sell out in a country that doesn't buy Nintendo.
 
You pretty much are guaranteed a loss against Zelda online. Teleport is undetectable and always does like 20 damage. lol.

Some guy named Joel beat me just doing teleport over and over and it seems there is no way to detect it/

it has a set distance you gotta learn , plus I think you can block it then punish

You just shield when you see her begin to teleport. I use Zelda myself and it's not that difficult at all to see.

no. it's just the adapter. the smash brand one are easily bought.
 
Oh, sweet! The gamepad shuts off and doesn't end the game after a while. Good stuff. I dunno if it's battery or just an auto shut down, but that's nice.
 
Hey, does anyone here want to go for a few rounds on Wii U? I want to practice on the new stages.

I can't do customs yet as I still need to unlock some, but I'm down for 1v1, 2v2, hell even a FFA. I'm on the spreadsheet, hit me up!

It was released on the 21st so if you expected it to be no 1 overall then i have no clue what to tell you. That is just 3 days on the charts.

I got destroyed by Zeldas yesterday, the teleport befuddled me, Nayru's love (spinny crystal shield thing) was deflecting everything perfectly, and they were pretty accurate with Din's fire.

it was 2 on 2 so still won some matches, but felt like I was getting dominated and had no priority on any move vs her.

A riskier method that also works is to repeatedly use the counter move; it will hit multiple foes and can KO, and it also stops you from getting damaged or knocked back. I managed to get 5 Cruel Melee KOs countering as Marth. Unfortunately, you have to have very good timing, since a missed counter is likely going to kill you.

Definitely not as easy as the dolphin slash method.

Yeah, I tried that on 3DS and it never went well. Mii Gunners would stay out of range and during the endlag on the counter they would attack and kill me.
 
I'm forcing myself to use Dr. Mario a lot this time around. His up air and back air are really good, but I can't seem to win consistently with him. Any tips?
 
How's everyone digging the voice chat in lobby? Anyone using it? Tried with a buddy using the Gamepad, and the quality was dreadful, supposedly.

Am I correct in that you HAVE to have the "push to speak" button pressed (Z using GC controller) in order to even HEAR the other person?

The most important thing to remember when playing Doc is that you have pretty much the worst recovery in the entire game and your cape and tornado are useless as recovery despite both working decently well in Melee.

I have no idea why they nerfed Doc's recovery to the point of absurdity.

Yeah, his recovery really isn't helping, it's awful. I've been complaining about it a lot the past couple days, lol. I still like using him though, his smash attacks are really satisfying when they connect. I hope with the next patch they buff at least his recovery, though I doubt it.
