What determines your rewards in Master Orders? Doesn't seem to be difficulty. Sometimes I randomly get one reward, other times even on easy I get three. Reward quality seems random too, I got two custom moves off a easy challenge.

I'm kind of not seeing any reason to not just do easy while grinding for customs/smooth lander.

Master orders seems totally pointless to me, when crazy orders is far far better. I guess it's cheaper crazy orders.

If I'm getting a 1/3+ sec. more of lag online (connected via wifi), will it do my connection any good to purchase a wired dongle?

Asking again: anything to prevent you from playing Co-op Classic/All Star and leaving the second controller just sit there to get two trophies instead of one per run?

depends on the host to be honest. you can do so much. but wired adapter just for the others who try to connect to you. and plus. it's like less than $15 for it.

So I am getting into Smash for the first time (never owned any of them before, just played casually on random occasions), and I'm looking to up my game.

I've reading through some guides and such on www.smashboards.com, but I'd also like to hear from Smash-GAF in terms of some important beginner tips for improving.

One thing I find myself struggling with in Smash compared to the traditional fighting games that I'm used to is movement accuracy. It feels like there is such a slight different between merely tilting/walking in a direction and dashing, which leads to lots of accidental dashes. I also find it hard to change direction after a block and find myself swinging at air only to get mega-punished.

Some of the characters that I'm liking so far are: Sonic, Diddy Kong, Mario, Shulk, and Zero Suit Samus. Duck Hunt seems like a fun trickster as well, but I need to put in some more work figuring out how to make him work to my advantage.

Also, what are my options after a grab? A to pummel and B + direction to throw/spike? Sometimes it feels like I can't throw them after a grab. I press B + direction but nothing happens, and then they break out of it.

To throw you just need to press a direction, not B. It's easier for the opponent to break out at low percent, so you usually want to avoid pummeling too much at a low percent.

Haha, demolished. Alright, this'll be my last one.

GGs :)

How many hours is everyone into Smash?

I am 23 which is nuts considering maybe about 4-6 hours have been multiplayer. In the past 4 days (havent played today) I have spent more time playing this than beating Shadow of mordor by a couple of hours.

The B button doesn't do anything during a grab. You just grab and then tap A to pummel or tilt in a direction to throw.

So what's the best way to get Crazy Order passes? I lost two to cheapness and bad stage selection. :(

The worst is when I'm in crazy orders and a CPU character gets the Gust Bellows. Pretty much an instant death every time.

As for stage selection, you can see a faint image of the stage in the ticket before you choose it.

They pop up in Master Orders as rewards (typically on very hard and intense challenges), and I got a few yesterday while playing Smash Tour. I think someone also mentioned you can get them from the roulette in Classic? There are also some as rewards for events I think.

And some of these challenges don't really seem that bad until you do them. Enemies have screw attacks. I'm heavy. Okay no big deal right... until I realize I am basically going to be repeatedly hit by screw attacks and then KO'd easily.

Game is kinda depressing for me online :/

in the for fun smash mode it's always laggy enough to throw off my experience. when I play 1v1 it's a smooth experience but I always get destroyed.

You don't need to push B. Just tap a direction.

If you want to learn, play people here and ask for feedback. My NNID is my GAF username if you want to learn.

Someone here posted about a scene he made for the +30 combo in training...

It is easier to pick samus, activate Screw attack item an do a well timed triple screw attack.

I did it in FD in the first try.

Anyone interested in sparring for a bit? Looking to get some quality 1 on 1 time in for a bit, moderate skill level I suppose is my guess. NNID is goldenpp72

Adventure Mode from Melee was actually based on classic Nintendo franchises. I'll take that "half-baked" mode over the random, boring, forgettable, generic, repetitive shit that was SSE any day.

Adventure mode was great. I liked how it didn't make everything a side scrolling stage. It brought a little bit of each franchise's style as a stage. Instead of SSE, they should've done something like Kirby Super Star's Cave Offensive stuff for Smash 4 and sort of make that like a single player Smash Run.

Cool, thanks. Crazy orders has been my least played mode, so far. But not for not liking it. I'm just being stingy with my tickets. I love Master Orders, probably my favorite single player mode. So i'll definitely do more of that to try to accumulate more tickets.

Pick Lucina, Set damage to 999, grab and start mashing A. You can get up to like 94 hits before the hold auto-breaks.

so i've been trying to do challenge # 13(where you have to beat true all star with captain falcon without recovering) and no luck. I did it twice on easy and nothing so far... any tips on how to get to do it?

This a joke? I absolutely love it when I'm recovering and the game just decides to send me flying for no reason /s.
It should be pretty clear. When the mother sends light beams to cover part of the stage, if you're in one of the affect regions you can be sent flying.

Once you learn which areas are affected by which mother zone you can theoretically be safe in the other ones. I like it a lot more than levels with boss/assist enemies.

In All-Star, atleast, if one player dies, you both lose.

Not sure how it works in Classic, but I assume the same...if one player loses both stocks, both lose. I guess you could set the Intensity to 0.0, give the 2P some custom equipment to make them super hard to launch, and just quickly kill everyone before they can be killed.

So are there any Metroid Prime trophies outside of Dark Samus? I've gotten quite a few Metroid trophies and they're all pretty much Other M stuff outside of Mother Brain and Dark Samus. It seems so odd to see the most popular Metroid titles of the last 12 years almost completely excised from Smash outside of a few alternate colors and an Assist Trophy in favor of absolutely everything Other M.

All the Trophies from Metroid as a whole seem to be stuff that's already in Smash. So Samus, Dark Samus, Ridley, and the enemies in Pyrosphere. The only non-Smash thing I've gotten is Little Birdie...

I don't think they bothered to even rip stuff from Prime OR Other M, really. I don't think there's an Anthony or Adam Trophy, despite being pretty big characters.

I've gotten a Zebesian, Madeline Bergman, and MB. There are definitely at least a few Other M trophies.

Oh?

Is there Samus in her Galactic Federation outfit? I actually thought that was a really neat look for her, and would've loved to have that as her ZSS-look.

Really? There's a whole Other M box.

I've been spectating for about an hour and a half while working out. The matches repeat! This sure makes gambling easier but it takes a bit of the magic away now knowing they're not live.
