Cool tip for all Germany Smashers:
If you buy three Amiibos at Saturn, you get the third one for free! Because of this, i just bought seven Amiibos (didn't know this at first and bought four).

I have own Mario, DK, Link, Marth, Kirby, Wii Fit Trainer and Villager. There were a very limited numbers of Marths, Kirbys, Villagers and WFTs, so i bought them first. Fox, Yoshi, Pikachu, Peach and Samus should be easier to get later.

does anyone know if the LAN adapter is region blocked? I want to get it from play-asia but it says it's japanese, also does this apply for the GC hori controller? that Pikachu controller looks pretty cool pika pika and stuff

Hiya smash gaf

My skills aren't the best but I could say I am competent enough. Looking for someone who likes to spar, get better and then occasionally dick around with other characters to prevent boredom from creeping in while also offering sound advice on how to improve.

I'll do the same. NNID is DedValve, same as my username. I also like to chat during fights if your interested on skype but not a requirement.

I'm currently trying to learn bowser jr.

Mine is daripad. I'll add you

I also love using every character lol but I'm not good with all of them (or any of them :P)

Accepted! Would be nice to play on non omega stages (I really wish there was "alpha" battlefield stages as well).

I'll start with Jr. since I'm really not good with him lol and I love goofing around with Lucina. So much fun.

EDIT: I'll make a room

EDIT2: woops, sorry for rejecting you, try again?

Any stage or just non banned stages?

I thought a bit about what music should go with those Sonic stages I designed. I started with the appropriate choice, and then went through all the classic music and selected based on theme, e.g. desert levels go together, etc. I didn't want to overlap any songs, including songs already in Windy Hill. I know Scrap Brain was in Green Hill in Brawl (And 3DS?) but I'm not counting that because Scrap Brain deserves its own stage. Also, Flying Battery music is too good to only use one of the two songs.

Clearly I need to design a map for Space Colony ARK, and give it Wing Fortress, Hydrocity, Ice Cap and Lava Reef Act 2...

Just played an hour of Smash with the boy child.

Holy shiieeett. He was like can I use my 3ds. I was like sure. Damn synced up in 2 secs with no lag. I was like wow. His mom was like is he really using his 3ds? You can do that?

Based Nintendo

Now I know what was so off about the 3DS Version...Smash Mode was boring without all the little stuff.

Having a blast with Special Smash (300, Bunny Hood, Fast in Pac-Land is crazy fun) and Item Matches, which really weren't possible in 3D.

Nintendo Europe fucked up.

Shopto haven't received stock of the GC controllers yet and say they won't until Friday. Amazon could do but otherwise my hopes of playing Smash with friends on Friday are dead.

I don't understand the desire for the GameCube controller.

Pro controller is…
Wireless
Same or less cost than GC plus adapter
Able to be used in many other games
Very comfortable

Also, how did four-stock become the norm? Was Melee that much faster? Two stock feels perfect.

Yeah, I love it, especially for Bayonetta. I just assumed that you HAD to use the GC controller for the best experience. Looks like I'll just use my Pro Controller.

It's just that many of has played Smash with a GC controller for at least a decade, that it just feels the perfect the controller for us.

GCN controller is great for Smash but I played around with the Pro last night and it's no slouch, either. The more control options, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

64 was even faster, with 5 stocks being the norm.

What's more surprising to me is that it took this long for 2 stocks to become a norm. Should have happened in Brawl a long time ago (and to some extent it started there some before Smash 4 was out).

On 3DS two stocks felt right, now on Wii U I'm really feeling 3. Don't know if the DI/patch changes made a big difference, or matches just feel shorter because I'm having more fun (thanks GCN controller ^.^).

GameCube-controller is also very comfortable. Most importantly the c-stick work extremely well for Smash (and bad for most other games) and the button-placement is as if it was made for Smash. Pro controller is great but GC-controller is still the king.

Neither do I. It's a bad controller. Those clicky triggers are the worst.
The Pro Controller has input lag because it's wireless, on top of wireless interference at large venues. The GameCube Controller is wired, thus making it the controller of choice for Smash and a must for competitive play (I say this as a Smash U tournament organizer). There's also button placement & the C-Stick to consider.

If Nintendo releases a wired Pro Controller, that's another story. But as of now, the GameCube Controller is to Smash as arcade sticks are to more traditional fighting games.

If you go with the Pro Controller you might run into some issues with diagonals and be in turn be frustrated. It's a great controller, but you'll run into situations where you wanted to go up or side and instead do something else because it's a lot harder to get the input right.

It won't matter too much for casual play, but forget it if you want to be at least be competitive.

Do you dislike the triggers because they make noise? Or because they're better at detecting input accurately?

The noise and feel. Z button is also terrible. It's small and feels weird next to the big button. I hate the face button layout but I guess it works for smash. The small d-pad also sucks. It's probably one of my most hated controllers. Can't stretch enough how glad I am I don't have to play Smash with that thing.

Shenanigans.

Pretty much cancelled my adapter order from shopto cause of it. Here's hoping Amazon will ship them to me by Friday. :/

I don't have any proof but I suspect that Nintendo designed the controller around the demands of the games they had in development, so it might have been literally made for Smash and a few other games.

The GCN Z-button is weird as hell, but it's forever etched into my brain as "the grab button" and feels so right.

As far as Smash is concerned, D-pad is only for taunts, so that's not much of a concern...

How can you stretch glad?

Anyway, most hated? really? that is a bit much. I do agree with the dpad and the z button but other than that the comfort and face buttons are amazing.

I never understood all the vitriol directed at the Z button. Just seems like a pretty unremarkable button to me. It does it's job, doesn't hurt my fingers or take huge adjustment or feel like it's about to break, it's just there.

Does the Wii U LAN adapter completely remove online input lag?

No. It still depends on a variety of things.

-Your connection
-Connection of the other player
-Firewalls
-Other unforseen bottlenecks

But it helps I'm sure. I've had a lot of near lagless matches with my wireless router, but it's positioned very close to my console.

can you upload videos of smash straight to youtube? Also great games daripad, I wish I saved some of those fights.

What do you think this is, Mario Kart? No, Nintendo can only make one progressive online title per year. In Smash, you compose handwritten, calligraphic letters containing prose describing your match and it is delivered to those on your "friends list" by a kind old mailman on the verge of retirement.

Um, no, Smash doesn't have that feature (yet?).

Pro controller is pretty much perfect to me, but it might be banned at big tournaments due to interference issues.
