Steam "Exploration Sale" -- i.e. Autumn Sale -- now live (November 26 - December 2)

Thanks for the GMG VIP heads up, grabbed Wolfenstein. Is the VIP section literally just another page of deals, or do you need to have done something special to see them, or what?

What was the general consensus on Battleblock Theater? Seems like that game came and went I never heard anything.
It's fun, but it can rise and fall with the narration. If you don't like the humor of the game, you may wanna deactivate him or tone him down, but if you like it, you gonna have a blast while playing.

You need to use a VPN to add it to your cart on Nuuvem. Steam activation is region-free unless you're in Asia, in which case you'll need to use a VPN again. The game itself is region-free, just to be clear -- once the key has been registered to your account, you're golden.

Nope.
I bought it using Hola but Steam says I can't use it in my country (Switzerland).
I'll try later using a VPN.

I still can't figure out why this is called "exploration" sale... If I scroll down too much I first find Valve's titles, then some more AAA and really not many accurate suggestions similar to what I play. I click the "over 5k titles on sale" list and I'm presented with a rather unintuitive list to browse through that has some really limited filtering options... Maybe it's Valve exploring new ways of displaying items on sale more than anything else.

I still miss the old formatting of 2012 with nearly 200 titles featured in the front with big capsules and then the infamous full list.

Need to check if the sale looks better in Big Picture Mode, my eyes are hurting after checking 50 pages of the small-text list.

It's called exploration because that's the theme of the background art. Nothing more.

Hola worked for me.

The whole new(ish) storefront design is centered around "exploring" the store. Lots of recommendations and that "exploration queue" or whatever. This sale is supposed to promote the crappy new storefront.

Bought a bunch of old school adventure games for £1 mark, the price range they should be in. (Seriously £5 - £10 without sale is nasty)

Proceed to boot up Harvester - punch child - get shot - exit game to return later - black screen - required to uninstall and reinstall video drivers via safe mode.

Not sure what happened and now scared to boot up harvester again :'( well thats another steam game that will sit in my backlog until the end of time.

You didn't have the VPN active when you tried to register the key, did you? Konami only uses one sub for Rising and the list of purchase-restricted countries is thus:

BT Bhutan
BN Brunei Darussalam
KH Cambodia
CN China
HK Hong Kong
ID Indonesia
JP Japan
KR Korea, Republic of
LA Lao People's Democratic Republic
MO Macau
MY Malaysia
MV Maldives
MN Mongolia
NP Nepal
PH Philippines
SG Singapore
LK Sri Lanka
TW Taiwan
TH Thailand
VN Vietnam

I think it is more because you are meant to be exploring via the recommended queues. In fact (link doesn't work though):

So, the truth comes out

BELIEVE.

So I guess by the comments above the "exploration" isn't working as well as intended? Or is it? I only browsed the full list from the cheapest to the highest price, a rather time-consuming process because I can't filter out already owned games, I can filter or browse OSTs, can't check DLC-only... and why is it that Deus Ex appears in the lowest price first? That one has to be a reference or something.

Let's see what the dailies bring to the table today!

Konami really hate whole Eastern and Southeastern Asia, don't they?

People have been complaining about the discovery update ever since it went live, why would it work out now?

this is like the first sale i literally only have $5 to spend on anything lol and the sale ends before i get money :> i better make this $5 count lol.

I don't think it works well, but I'm thinking maybe Valve is forcing this sale to be this way as a way of trying gather data and then perhaps tune up the whole recommendation section.

Similar boat. I think I'm only going to be getting MGS V GZ, and what ever I can get with £20 that is a ridiculously amazing deal. Next year, hopefully I'll be properly employed and bringing in that mad $ so I can then regret my actions in one of those sales!
