Huh weird glitch, i made a quick stage and then when I went to change the name the game pretty much froze. Wouldn't move on and let me do anything. Weird.

Also random but I love toying with people online. A guy i was fighting could not figure out how to not get hit by Ganon's boot after the side b so i kept on doing it again and again.

Hopefully you discovered a memory leak

Good games man! Some of those had me laughing! Your characters are all over the place with the fast falling and pacing!

Good Games Romance, your DK is the first serious one I have ever played, looking forward to play you again! :'D

edit: yeah! your "Go Back to Melee" taunt really applies for me huehue

Thanks a lot! You know I could say the same about your Marth. I've yet to play a good one until now. I was hoping for more. Next time! That isn't to say of course that your Link and Zero Suit were bad because they were great. It's just Marth seems to have fallen from grace since the original Demo. I feel like people have barely even tried to figure out how to make him work, they just get mad their old tricks don't. Keep it up!

You know sometimes I wonder about that "go back to melee" taunt. I have nothing against Melee players and sometimes I feel it's a bit too mean. I wanted "go back to Russia" but that might really offend someone. I just remember Barney saying it in the Simpsons and thought it was hilarious. I try to keep the taunts funny or light hearted. There is nothing worse than someone who has "You F'n suck!" as a taunt.

ikr?! I mean yeah he is not as good as in Melee or even Brawl, but I still want to use him, he is one of my fav chars since he came out and want to find a playstyle that make use of his new strengths, and don't worry about the taunts, they are funny, but that one specially cracked me up lol

Ooh, a DK player, huh? Maybe we can play sometime, Romance (just gonna call you RD now). I haven't faced too many DKs and I'd like to practice against him.

I have spent the last hour trying to do the 100 multiman smash with my sword fighter under 3 minutes. Consistently get about 3:05-3:10 T_T

3:00.60 fuuuuuuuuck!!

Edit 2: Finally yusssssss 2:58.15!!

Any tips for players new to the series? Finding it difficult to string together any sort of meaningful attack at the moment.

Too bad that with all the deference to various controllers and even the option to use a gamecube controller they didn't properly replicate the old controls. When using a gamecube controller, the triggers which were analog in melee and digital on full click in brawl now activate with almost no pressure at all. I much preferred Brawl, as the click is much easier and more reliable compared to the current situation.

Unfortunately this is making me wonder if I shouldn't try using a pro controller. Makes getting the gamecube adapter and controller something of a waste if so. With all the gamecube controller talk from Nintendo regarding this game, I'm dismayed that they didn't implement a gamecube trigger option (shield on click vs shield on any input at all).

Shulk might be able to see why kids live Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but now matter how much he sees the Flare Blitz coming, he'll be knocked away during the counter and become unable to punish.

Don't dodge roll so much, mix up your attacks, become comfortable with the movement and spacing, shield grabbing is really useful.

Yes, now that all my essays are finally done, I can sit down and play this(while studying for finals). Does anybody have any tips for playing Rosalina? I've taken a liking to her, but feel like I'm pretty inadequate. I know the game just came out, but I've never been that skilled of a player in the previous games. Never really had much motivation since most people in my hometown weren't that good. The online is looking better int his one though, and I live in a larger city now.

Stuff I'm noticing about myself is I need to use my shield a bit more, and in better contexts, haha.

I'm having fun with this game, and can see myself playing this for awhile.

I sort of want to kick my five year old son's ass in Smash

What do you guys think is an appropriate age to be playing games like this?

I think I started playing the first one when I was around five years old. I got in trouble because I would leap off a chair saying "piss off" because that's what I thought fox would say when doing his up-b.

The violence is all comic so, I don't think it's particularly inappropriate for a five year old. Be careful though, you'll be letting him win one week and losing the next.

Is there a good (video) guide to learning the basics of Smash?

To be honest, I've never really played Smash and feel I need some practice. it probably didn't help that I played my first round with Shulk yesterday. (Sometimes he switched Monado stance, sometimes did a back slash and I thought I had hit the same button and direction...)

Here, let JC from the Treehouse teach you the super basics.

It's actually not that good, but it's JC at least?

Quick question - can you use Amiibos in Tournament modes? IE can you use them in addition to AI to fill out extra slots in a multi-man tournament? Some Level 50, powered up Amiibos seem like a good way to have some wild cards.

Finally beat 9.0 Classic with Jigglypuff!

So, could anyone with a PAL version please take a picture of the character selection screen? Apparently King Dedede's name is on one line instead of two.

Has anyone done the "Intensive Sparring" Event? I believe its called something else on the US version. Just involved Little Mac taking on 3 Little mac clones with 5 stocks each and you on like 100% damage.

Such a pain to do on hard...What evil person devised such a challenge?!

Ouch. Dude I beat constantly with my Lucario picked Lucario at the end and beat me.

Disclaimer: I should note that none of the kills I got against him had to do with the "ridiculousness" of Aura - I rarely got over 100%, where Lucario's strength is formidable, but not obscene.

Anyways, I lost because I kept making the mistake of doing what I would do against non-counter users. My hope was that I would be able to shield Double Team, entirely forgetting that Lucario's specials have more end-lag than non-mains would think.

...And then he quit.

;_;

Had a good winning streak going yesterday until I came across a Jigglypuff. Holy shit my Shulk could barely touch it.

Any tips? Or effective matchups?

Man, just played teams in For Fun with the same people for almost two or three hours. So much fun and it was basically lagless. It still feels unreal.
