Then better hold off and try another 4x game first. You're running in the serious danger of not liking the genre. Get Civilization V. It's generally cheap at this point, it has the feel of an 4x game, but is different enough from Endless Legend that you won't feel like buying the same game twice.

edit: actually Civ V got a demo. Get that, play it and then look at Endless Legend again.

Catan, like the boardgame? Not really. Mind you, 4x means "eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate". Catan is missing at least the explore part and I am really not sure about exterminate, except if you play the Daleks of Catan. 4x games are a lot more complicated than boardgames.

Uninstall the two GFWL apps that it installed, then install the latest one from ms website. Once GFWL is working in game, use the scroll bar to go to the very bottom of the sign in overlay, and select the small text at the bottom to create an offline account.

It seems you can't buy VIP deals from GMG using GMG credits. It only forces to buy via credit cards and paypal. Tomb Raider VIP deal is $5.93 while the normal deal is $7.49.
