Good Games!

I still don't understand why y'all want to have friendly fire and having pokeball/assist trophies on at same time since assist trophies and pokeball pokemon would attack your own partners as well.

It was a lot of fun and really helping me to get rid of my rust.

Items aren't on for me. Can't speak for my friend though. Good games, Heath and friend of Heath! A lot of fun

Anybody have a list of gameplay differences between Melee, Brawl, and SSB4? I can't find anything that puts the major gameplay differences in a list. I'd also be happy with just a Brawl vs. SSB4 list.

Oh my god

That fucking metroid challenge in smash tour

6 smash tour, no metroid

Hum actually one metroid that stole my stats and run in another player, fuck.

Does anyone know why -- when hosting a room with friends -- settings get overridden? I mostly play against random people, but this has happened to me pretty much every time (all five of them): I go into settings and turn items off. I do this both via the frequency option and the All Off options in the individual item toggles. This works the first match. Subsequent matches, though, they're back and now the options up top are grayed out.

How do I change fighters in Smash Tour?
I don't think you can, it just gives you whichever one is up next.

I think it gives the other player(s) the opportunity to set the rules. Make sure everyone has the right settings.

i think it gives every player a turn (for lack of a better word) to modify settings to their desire.

Only one person has control over the settings at a given time. It changes after every match. From experience, it seems the person who comes last gets to change the settings

Makes sense. I kind of figured that it might have been something like that, but others were saying they didn't change anything. I figured it would stick with the current room settings unless changed. I guess it just defaults to whatever they had set before joining the room, though?

Its the loser who sets the rules.

Winner has stage-pick priority on the selection (though it will sometimes go with the loser's stage selection).

It remembers your room settings for a session of gameplay (so until you turn off the console), and will in general remember item rules forever unless you change them. So if you turn them off once, they'll stay off.

GGs guys.

This is fun online. Maybe I am also not quite as terrible as I thought. I think I did ok against you guys. My 1 on 1 experience against randoms has been a miserable experience so far though.

Day 6 of not smashing:

Play soon. I finally arrived home from my Thanksgiving break yesterday night, too tired to play anything. Today, work has gotten in the way of smashing, so I'm forced to wait through 8 grueling hours before I get back into it. Luckily, the wife is out and about tonight doing something I can't remember, so I should have dedicated time. Only four or so more hours and I'll be able to play again. Hopefully I'll make it. The withdrawals have been real. My sanity is slipping. Only Pac-Man's stupid grin can save me now.

Y'know, I kinda wish they'd gotten whoever voiced Little Mac in Punch-Out Wii to voice him again in Smash 4. He doesn't really sound like a 17 year old American guy in Smash 4, he just kinda sounds like an angry Japanese man. ......Oh my god! He sounds just like Piston Hondo! GUYS!! All this time, we've been playing as Piston Hondo in disguise! That would also explain why he's so fast. It all makes sense!

aaaaaaa i got the ringside wrestler trophy i love ittttt it even has new art for the back!!!!

it being in the generic wii & wii u trophy box is killing me though ;A;

So I decided to semi-farm CDs by turning only Master Balls on with high appearance rates, then I set up an infinite time battle............................but you can only end that by quitting, and then you don't get any items from it. :(

Any tips on how to make tilt attacks come out more consistently? I don't know whether the analog stick on the Wii U Pro Controller is too sensitive or if it's merely me having sloppy execution, but too often do I perform a smash or dash attack instead which naturally leaves me wide open for punishment. Accurately positioning myself when under pressure is also a little problematic; sudden dashes when I mean to quickly turn around in place for example, which means I can't quite jump in the opposite direction on a whim yet for a quick B-air. I'd like to be doing it from a standstill with the characters I use rather than taking advantage of buffering it through other attack animations, so I feel like I might be missing an easy trick.
