i've been smoking those characters with my zelda. don't gravel to tier lists so much (at all, imo), fight da player.

Seriously. When Shamrock shames you with his Ness or other dude(lucky 7?) destroys you with Charizard you'll question life in general.

One thing about some under used characters is their meta game doesn't develop as quickly so it can catch people off guard really easily. Granted that lasts only so long but no doubt a good Zelda can destroy folks.

It took over a year for Firebrand to win anything in Marvel 3, and now his most-used team, Firebrand/Doom/Skrull, is considered one of the best available because you don't get to play the game if you get hit once. The metagame is a slowly evolving creature.

My attempt at remaking Sector Z from SSB64. It worked out well, I think!

I'll probably end up playing on this more than most of the stages that came with the game.

What's the consensus on Mega Man? I'm trying to get a good grip on him but I can't seem to actually fight well with him. I can see his whole point of being a projectile-based character with a lot of range, but when it comes to fighting against decent players the projectiles don't really seem to do significant enough damage and his close-range options I feel are a bit limited. I don't know why but his lack of tilt As really throws me off more than I think it should.

Any strong MM players out here? What is your approach when playing as him?

I'm Mega Man main, yo! :p

I initially thought that his projectiles were lame because of low damage, limited range and very punishable due to end lag, but figuring out how you can annoy players with them you'll really do good as MM.

His pellets seem weak due to low damage output and short stun, but it can interrupt a lot of attacks: small projectiles, dash attacks, smash attacks. And it can really interrupt those who are trying to recover or getting up after a ledge grab. Learn to utilize it while keeping a safe distance.

Keeping enough distance close enough where your attacks still hit while being far enough to avoid getting hit by dash and tilts are the sweet spots for Mega Man users. From there you can approach with your own dash attack (top spin), dash then up smash (spark attack), a soft charged buster attack (fsmash), or a grab.

Also, crash bomb and metal blade are a good attacks when you are at a farther distance, with Crash Bomb getting at a farther distance. Crash Bomb when successfully attached will force opponents to four things: hold the shield when it explodes, continuous dodging, try to approach you, or just absorb the attack. From there you can plan out what to do.

I'm still not good enough due to my bad habits kicking in sometimes, but those tactics are enough to win me 70% in 500+ FG battles in the Wii U version. If you really want to get into more advanced things, Anonymous Tipster is one Mega Man master here, he can sure give a lot more tips than me :p

Up tilt for mega man bair and up air are also great kill moves.

Anyone else have this issue? I beat Classic Mode with 5 fighters and yet Mr. Game and Watch never challenged me...
I had something like that... I believe they have to be difficulty 2.0 or higher. Do it with more characters at 2.0.

Anyway, I'm down to 8 challenges remaining:

1. Clear Classic on intensity 9.0 without losing a single life: Double Final Smasher Protection Badge equipment
7. Collect all of the special moves: Smooth Lander Brawn Badge equipment
10. Collect all of the custom headgear: Majora's Mask trophy
11. Clear All-Star on Hard with all characters: Saki Amamiya trophy
16. Collect 700 unique trophies: Item Hitter Agility Badge equipment
18. Clear Crazy Orders after 20 or more turns while playing as Mario: F.L.U.D.D. trophy
20. Collect all the CDs: Tac trophy
33. Clear Classic at intensity 7.0 or higher with all the characters: Regal Crown Mii headgear

I'm only putting off #18 because everyone tells me this is way easier with a Home Run Bat equipped, but I don't have that item yet. I've managed 19 rounds so far due to time constraints, so I definitely want a way to get through that in a quicker fashion.

Only #1 can't be hammered, so I've been concentrating on that. I'm getting better at making it through without having to continue but can't quite do 1-stock. Master Beast usually fucks me up; he's by far the most difficult form to read.

I have all 5 hammers in reserve but I'm probably not going to use any.
I remember someone saying they beat #1 with Bowser.

and there I am on the 3DS version trying to get this, so far I got 3 Smooth Lander Bages on the Wii U, and with this will be another one! oh well, does anyone play with this custom on? game feels quite different with it imo

1vs1 anyone? Wired connection and no storm outside! NNID RomanceDawn.

Also which challenges are best hammered? I am not looking forward to classic 7.0 with everyone.

ill trade you, i think mine is a serial killer. i got him and donkey kong and he routinely schools us both. im waiting for dk to wise up and join forces with me in interest of self preservation

I'm going to reset him anyway, I was training him with Link amiibo and they always spam projectile against eachother while I never did.

I wish I could hammer Fever Rush 8x with Dr. Mario. :-(
If you're having trouble focus on just the 8 fevers by holding back at the tail end of each fever to accumulate the last falling bits of the current fever; a large combo increase rockets your next fever; don't lose the combo though.

Playing perfectly should net you 8 though.

I didn't see an answer for this before so I'm reposting it: Does using the hammers leave any permanent mark on the challenge it was used on? Is there any downside like that?

I dunno, but in my view, if the hammers are missing at the end of it, that's already a mark on your permanent record.

Yeah, I got Fox's 6 like this, but it was just barely. If you use a custom character for this, can you equip the Homerun Bat and throw it straight up? That could net a lot of points.

I don't think there's any "challenge" to something like slowly breaking 5,000 blocks in Trophy Rush. I don't feel bad about hammering something like that at all. Ditto for completing Classic at 7.0 with every character. It's just a huge waste of time, and I don't have the energy for it after I completed the challenges on the 3DS version.

Yeah, I totally agree. The missing hammers bother me enough to not use them, but I'm also not that worried about actually doing the challenges. I just leave most of them alone and assume I'll work towards them someday.

Is there a walkthrough or guild for the best way to beat these things. Some of these challenges are fucking hard.

It will probably take me a year to play as good as Ito's Meta Knight. The stuff he can do will make you say damn.

Hey guys where can I find a wii u lan adapter and for the best price

Probably will have to do some digging, it's an original Wii accessory and my local Gamestops hadn't even heard of one. Found one store that had 2 left. I'm in Finland though so I'm probably of no use to you.

Then again the situation might be better abroad. One of the 3 major ISP's here forces these awful ADSL routers that cant handle Wi-Fi for consoles, so the lan adapters sold out really quickly after Smash's release.

I got very, very close with Bowser and DK. Then Master Fortress ping-ponged me everywhere at 0% until I died. :-(

I think I am going to swap to a projectile-based character. Maybe Samus or Ness. That way I can just snipe the cores in Fortress.

Is there a walkthrough or guild for the best way to beat these things. Some of these challenges are fucking hard.
I am thinking about making example videos for folks once I get my Elgato for Christmas. Would you and others be interested in that?

You got any gameplay of him in S4?

OH wow, yeah my gamestop didn't have it either :(

Has everyone gotten a chance to review the 1.04 patch notes in depth? (Community patch notes, that is.) Some crazy changes. DACUS removed apparently, and the vectoring mechanic has been removed as well; seems we're back to regular DI. Very important stuff to keep it mind.

Prices arent probably going to be any different, so your best bet would either be to hit Amazon or if you have some really good electronics/gaming stores that are well equipped, check those out.
