]Those two have no chemistry outside of fucking each off screen in season one[/B]. Any epilogue involving a multi yeared marriage would involve Korra bleaching up Mako's murder scene.

Eh, too be fair, I don't believe any of the romances in the series in general (ATLA and LoK) are particularly that well done. "Chemistry" is a pretty loaded term which, IMO, shouldn't be used for animated series.

ATLA was...serviceable, non-offensive, which is the best compliment I can give it. LoK is pretty much awful in every way possible.

The more I think about it, the more I realize Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z had it right. Completely skip the romance and actually focus on the story and plot. I don't care about how Vegeta and Bulma got together, I care about how super awesome Trunks was when he cut up Frieza.

Sometimes a writer has to admit when they aren't good at certain aspects of story telling AT knew he wasn't good at romance so he skipped it.

I'd argue that if it wasn't for the northern girlfriend, that Sokka and Suki were easily the most stable relationship in there. But one second they hated each other, the other they're greeting each other with a kiss.

Plot synopsis for this weeks episode.
"Operation Beifong"
"Bolin helps Opal and Lin save the Beifongs from Kuvira; Korra visits the Spirit World, looking for help."

Hmm so I guess there is a chance Iroh is going to pop up again.

I really do hope
that something happens to Bolin while helping the family, like get captured or badly injured, that opens up Opal's eyes that it isn't fair to blame Bolin so much

Episode titles for the remaining episodes.
Day of the Colossus hmm.

#223 "Operation: Beifong"
#224 "Kuvira's Gambit"
#225 "Day of the Colossus"
#226 "The Last Stand"

Do you guys think the spirit vines are going to be some kind of Nuke that Korra has to stop?

Korra is gonna sacrifice herself in mecha spirit form to stop a spiritual atomic bomb

ending the avatar cycle and starting off the weening off bending and finally cementing the reliance on mechanical revolution that the shitty steampunk settings always protrude .

in other words, they stole the ending from HEROES 1st season

Yeah i'm guessing that Kuvira will use them to make a spirit nuke and possibly power up some new mechs of hers and then threaten Republic City with them.

There's only five episodes left? Feels like there's so much left to cover.

Actually only four episodes left. So even less time to wrap everything up.

Sounds like the rest of the season is full steam ahead with plot. So people expecting character development are gonna be disappointed.

And that plot will probably be pretty silly as well. Poor series, going out like this.

Still the same schedule of one episode a week till the 19th December where they'll have a two part finale to finish off the series.
Hard to believe I would've started and finished three different anime's in between watching this season. Kill La Kill, Gundam Build Fighters and 2 seasons of Jojo...god damn.

Should definitely try and give Space Battleship Yamato 2199 a watch next. It's great.
Dangit, Nick needs to just surprise us all and put the last four episodes on Amazon or Google Play this week.
Ha that would be nice but they'll still working on the episodes as we speak. They only just finished the animation for the finale around two weeks ago. Plus Jeremy Zuckerman is still composing some stuff for the remaining episodes and PJ Byrne was in the studio yesterday having his last ever recording session for the show.

Tomorrow they will air all remaining episodes, right?

Yeah I was actually thinking about that since I think it got ranked pretty high on Gafs anime of the year list. As somebody that grew up on Macross and Gundam would I enjoy it? Granted Gaf has been pretty good with the anime recommendations lately.

I'm not up to speed on stuff, so sorry if this is well known, but is Korra ending with this season? Like, have the creators said that they're done with it or the franchise?

Well then, Kuvira feels like an insufficient antagonist to the entire series. I wish they would have done more with Zaheer, though Amon will always be my favorite.

I'm assuming the creators want to move on to other works?
I know they're doing more Avatar comics, but after that I'm the last person to ask what their plans are. Kuvira had good potential, they just had too much nonsense to juggle and not enough priority to give her a proper narrative.

Yamato 2199 isn't a grest Sci fi anime. It's a great Sci fi show period. If you've enjoyed stark trek or Battlestar Galactica it's basically the two morphed into one show.

Psycho Pass season 2 for me.

you really shouldn't. I loved S1, and even people who did so are fucking hating every second of S2. Heck, AnimeGAF isn't the biggest fan of Psycho-Pass, but even those who defended it and are watching it are having painful experiences. Think of it as Korra S2.

Yamato 2199 was easily my AOTY, so yes highly recommended. Visuals are great, it has a huge cast, the main character is more than decently likable, and it also has a surprisingly sweet romance to it that doesn't detract from the story. There's an episode as well that's my favorite of the bunch that deals with the "Do Android Dream of Electric Sheep?" question in sci-fi.... aka Bladerunner. The biggest downside of the show is that the females are a bit too sexy and wear skintight outfits.

I recommend this show to everybody. But it was easily the most awkward show to talk about in AnimeGAF for a very particular reason lol

I don't know how to feel about this. Cautiously optimistic for now I guess. I liked the last episode, so hopefully it keeps getting better.

Obviously I have no say in the PP2 matter as I refuse to watch it specifically because others in AnimeGAF who I know watched the show and enjoyed it are hating S2 to comical levels of rage.

I also have little interest since my favorite character isn't in it.
