Hmmm. Could buying Capcom actually be a pretty beneficial/profitable move for Sony? As you said, they own Monster Hunter and doesn't Monster Hunter have a fuckton of draw and a huge audience in Japan? Them buying Capcom and making a new good AAA MonHun for PS4 along with all Capcom's other IPs could lead to A LOT more PS4s being sold in Japan where sales are slow no?
