The Game Awards 2014 Thread: Keighley unveils, less McHales

Or just people in general. Good lord what does it take to please some people

Yeah, I think it has gone pretty well. A couple weird moments but really my only complaint is that the sound guy is really dropping the ball. Geoff did a really nice job this year putting this together.

wuuuuuuuut are we watching here.... christ.

Stop with the terrible quips. Shout out to reddit one more time (cause why not) and then please stop.

I mean, the show has had it's dips but this is still really enjoyable and chock full of new stuff no matter the magnitude.

Dem Reggie shots though:

We're these shots supposed to be artistic or something? It's like someone in the production booth was accidentally leaning on the wrong button.

Thanks reddit! Wow, can't believe how great reddit is. It's nothing like neogaf. Anyways has anybody seen any games?

This is so bizarre. It's clear that this thing was put together in just a few months. But honestly even the big budget game award shows always come off as amateurish, maybe the medium really doesn't need a show like this. The personalities just do not compare to an award show celebrating movies or music.

Also the audience is super annoying.

This is a so damn honest speech. Never heard of the game or played Garry's Mod or anything but lots of respect to the guy <3

The shows not bad. certainly not a train wreck like last year.

There's clunkiness, and some of those VGA terrible jokes made it in, and certainly the awards are not being given the attention that they should be. But it is watchable.

I'm liking the show. With movie or music awards, you're getting a bunch of people that are used to being on camera together.
Game developers are a nerdy bunch, they aren't used to crowds or cameras or big showy awards shows. So of course its going to be awkward. Geoff's done a good job so far, theres been some cringe but maybe next year he'll iron the kinks out.

But Imagine Dragons is unforgivable.
