The Game Awards 2014 Thread: Keighley unveils, less McHales

I really hope the kids that grew up playing Minecraft get into No Man's Sky in the same way. I think it's going to really scratch that same itch for me. Exploring.

So far this show has exceeded my expectations. Then again what I had in mind was something similar to the vga 2013 show so I guess my bar was pretty low.

Overall so far 8/10 will watch again next year.

I really like them mixing in live music performances. I'm getting an Explosions in the Sky vibe from the band playing right now.

My bet is we'll see No Man's Sky actual gameplay tomorrow at PSX. That would be the best time to show it.

Also I'm really loving this song right now. OST could be really, really good.

Love the look of no man's sky sky but I'm worried the hype is inflating my expectations beyond what's reasonable to expect from such a small studio.

I don't understand why they're not showing game footage while the band performs.

One day I'll figure out what you do in No Man's Sky.

Still ain't seeing the hype for No Mans Sky at all. For myself it looks like something I might enjoy for 30 minutes, put it down and never play again. I don't need shooting mechanics, I just want there to be some point to the gameplay.

It's cool that they're performing a new song from the game. But man, I've been sick of these performances for a while. I wasn't really doubting NMS would have a good soundtrack anyway.

I still dont get No Man's Sky.

I mean, it looks awesome. But what do you do in it? Fly around?

Me too.

You fly around. Walk around. Teleport around. Okay. Visuals are cool. The tech behind it is cool.

It will be fun for a day and then just be boring. The scope or rather, it's alleged size isn't a good enough selling point. Being big and massive doesn't make it fun. There are tons of games that are huge, but there is nothing to do. Nothing interesting and nothing that makes me invested in the world.

Plus, I just think they hype and expectations are just waaaaaaaaaay too high. People are gonna be upset. Watch.

I'm excited for No Man's Sky but these trailers need to stop. I want to know/see what the game is actually about. They've essentially showed the same thing three times now.
