PlayStation Experience Event 2014 - 20 Years of gaming memories distilled

I feel torn. Overall, I think Sony has a ton of games to play in the future. And they all look really really great. But just in terms of like a conference/platform for announcing stuff, it's kind of strange to have so much focus on Indie/Steam titles. Especially when you've played a lot of them already on PC.

So basically, great overall content. Kind of a meh conference for me? Personally.

Great conference for me personally. Probably because I wasn't a dumbass expecting a new Crash game, a FF7 remake and TLG lol.

Square Enix are just the greatest though.

That Final Fantasy VII announcement was some next level bait and switch.

Otherwise though, I was very happy with this. The Yakuza announcement, Suikoden II FINALLY coming, seeing Uncharted 4, Tearaway... Until Dawn felt very Heavy Rain, not that that's a bad thing, I'm interested. And the free NFS: Most Wanted and Garden Warfare games, hell yes. And No Man's Sky is still mesmerizing. I'm happy!

Man I was loving the conference, so many great games shown. Then SE came and kicked me in the balls and now I'm just salty as fuck.

Going into this with no expectations, I'm satisfied. I do wish SFV hadn't leaked yesterday, because THAT would've been the megaton everyone wanted.

The only downsides were:

  • The last game shown didn't look that great IMO
  • Square-Enix's "announcement", while funny in hindsight, was fucking terrible in the moment.

That was a pretty bad conference, to be pretty blunt about it. It started off great, but just fell off a cliff and never recovered after they just started shoving ports down our throats.

And then the FFVII debacle, still providing really nothing new about No Man's Sky, and a 4 player arena shooter to close it out just made me feel like I wasted so much of my time. This didn't need to be 2 hours long at all.

First Big: Uncharted 4 Gameplay Footage
Games long requested finally coming true - Yakuza 5, Yakuza 4+Dead Souls
Interesting Game announcement that will cause waves - Street Fighter V
Day of Tentacle Remaster

And more

Great show. But that FFVII troll goddamn

Laughed SO HARD at the FFVII thing. It's like they don't understand why people wanted FFVII on PS3 (or 4 now I guess). People didn't want the PS1 (Ok, PC) version. They wanted a remastered one in the style of the PS3 tech demo. They wanted to re-experience FFVII in HD with amazing detail.

This was an excellent game delivery factory with great footage

until Fucking Square Enix cunts come out and act like they are closing out the show with a FF7 remake and its fucking nothing holy shit what the fuc,k u on SE jesus goddamnit fucking crazy assholes aasajdfskajdolaldka;lkfr;kafk;ladadad

on the other hand im looking forward to the 9pm No Mans Sky event. Here there is a concert too.

They really blew their load too early by having Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne at the start, my hype levels never went back up. And holy shit at that SE FFVII troll.

Still have yet to see that must play game in order for me to get a PS4. Not really interested in playing a bunch of weird indy games.

Some really great announcements but they should of delved into the history of PlayStation really. As that was what the whole thing should of been about.

Sony's problem
Cuz fans Hype up the event out of proportion

Only after multiple sources including Sony's own were hinting to be one hell of a show. It' fucking 20 yrs anniversary show and all they had is multiple announcements for last gen platform. Of course there were indie games for PS4 but people were hoping for PS4 games after all the hype (generated not by fan, first)

The two things I was hoping for, gameplay/date of Persona 5 and anniversary console availability outside of PSX in the US. Neither happened.

Lots of games, and lots of cool games.

Onto E3 next year I suppose.

Are people in this thread serious? The keynote was awesome, best one I've seen in a long time. Some people will never be happy good lord.

Crash is dead, I hope peopke realise that now. I was hoping for a revival but didn't get one; no ape escape, no parappa. UC4 looked good as did Bloodborne but was expecting another announcement equally as big as SF5.

Show did not live up to the hype. Very disappointed.

Still nothing on PSX/PS2 classics for the PS4.
Really expected something.. :/

Anyway, good conference apart from Squeenix who shot themselves in both foots.
