Heavy focus on Marie and Adachi. Basically doesn't even cover most of the original P4 stuff and just exclusively does the P4G scenes.
The Motion Picture was one of my first anime. Probably watched it dozens of times as a kid.
It was a manga first.
VN anime adaptations usually aren't as good as the source because they're trying to fit a lot of routes in to a short amount of episodes.
Fatal Fury was great. I had the OVAs and movie. The Kaiser OVA was great. Obari in his heyday.

Nah, see, for me, the reason I like the Pokemon anime so much is because its simplicity...I can always expect it to be around, and I can easily jump into it at any point without being overwhelmed. Plus I just love seeing the Pokemon animated, as I think the show does a good job at showing them off that the games, until the jump to 3D, really couldn't do. I know some people don't like that, and I respect it, but it's just a "solid" for me, you know? I'll be devestated the day it's cancelled, tbh.
That being said, I love when the Diamond and Pearl series had a bit more continuity to it, and felt like it was aimed slightly older, and then BW fucked that, but still, even then I sort of liked BW in parts.

Thank you for the responses, all. To those asking - anything is welcome! Part of why I started the thread is that I'd like to use what I learn to branch out and give a new series a shot (and the game it relates to, of course)! ;-)
I actually love Persona 4: The Animation and Persona 4 the Golden Animation, both for different reasons. But to answer your question, the Golden Animation is sort of a New Game + perspective on the events exclusive to Persona 4 Golden. It also covers the protagonist's new Social Link interactions found in P4G. I won't spoil anything, but I feel that the
episode makes the show worth it alone. P4GA definitely isn't for everyone -- especially newcomers, but I think it expands on P4G in some really cool ways. Most people think that it's hot garbage, but I got a kick out of it. Maybe give it a shot one day since you enjoyed the original!

This movie is.......somethin. It's pretty much a weird retelling of Tekken 2 while having characters not at all be how they were in the game. Nina and Anna specifically.
It also had a very 90s soundtrack in the english dub:

Pokemon: Origins was a fantastic adaptation imho. Pacing was brisk and only focused on the important parts.
Persona 4: Animation was kind of mixed for me. Basically anything that doesn't involve dungeons/combat is great. They could have done away with some of the forced game aspects.
Devil May Cry bored me. The only thing I remember was strawberry sundae.

Oh yeah, this movie, i remember it was really decent, maybe i will rewatch this one!
Also steins;gate is one of my favorite anime but i never played the game.
I guess pokemon was kinda decent, i really liked it as a kid but i dont think much of it now.
The first Persona 3 movie, Persona 3 The Movie: Spring of Birth, is fantastic (especially compared to the bad Persona 4 anime adaptation). It does a great job of condensing the events of the story and adapting them, adding elements that weren't in the original game that just make sense. They created a very fitting personality for the originally blank slate, main protagonist Makoto Yuki, which makes him have actual character development and a proper arc.
There will be four other movies (the second will have a BD/DVD release in March) for five in total, and I'm confident they'll all be great. Definitely the best anime adaptation of an Atlus game yet (which, unfortunately, could potentially not be saying much).

The anime adaptation was good, btw. Really showed how the game can become crazy like the anime!

Favorite anime ever, followed by Steins;Gate.

I always thought Steins Gate was a decent adaptation. I just saw the visual novel and the anime simplifies and cuts on too many things. It's better than most adaptations because most are crap but to me it is above average, not spectacular.
Funnily enough if I had to pick one I think is the best it would probably be Steins;Gate (as contradictary as that is). The Fate/Stay Night ongoing anime has been great too but it is not over yet so I will reserve judgement.

Opinions lol. Its my personal favorite due to loving the game and the anime does a decent job at adapting it. Yea i'm bias!
The entire Higurashi series wins for me.
I'd just like to throw my 2 cents in and say that whilst I enjoyed the Danganronpa anime, it was more of a accessory to the games in my head.
All of my friends who don't play games loved the Danganronpa anime, I played the games first and I can't believe how condensed they made the entire thing. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'll give another vote for the Persona 3 movies. Spring of Birth is great, especially when you have that quality animation that is called the P4 anime. It's weird how the P3 movie is vastly better than the P4 anime considering it's the same studio that handled it.
The P4 anime is cringy overall. P4GA just decided to puke Marie all over the place, but I feel confident enough to recommend Spring of Birth to my friends who aren't familiar of the games and want to see what's it about.
