It´s 180 for a Platinum Trophy.
 
How many points is each retail game worth? (Is is the same for every retail game?) Anyway, I'm going to add my data later. I'm about level 6 I think, but I have only played like 5 trophy games.

Retail Games: 1050 Points + 180 for Platinum
PSN Games: 300 Points

I was kinda having difficulty selecting all of my trophies through playfilre & what's actually sync'd with PSN every time I sign on, but this is a rough estimate.

Go to your friends list and press X on your own user account to see the trophy level and percentage. Push R1 to see the number of trophies of each type you have. You can also push triangle on any other friend and compare your trophies with them.

I can't seem to find how this works! It seems like they don't have a limit or even a pattern of how many "points" each game can be worth.

214 Trophies - Level 6 - 34% (I don't think that is bad after 5 Trophy games, including one PSN title.)

Platinum - 2

Bronze - 172

Points: 2 * 180 + 9 * 90 + 31 * 30 + 170 * 15 = 360 + 810 + 930 + 2.550 = 4.680
(From my calculations, only 180 is possible for platinum in this case)

I don't think I will ever get a platinum for Wipeout HD.

There is a limit for standard game. But the dev does not need to use all of it (they aren't forced to create trophies totaling a certain amount). Also DLC (free or paid) gives you more trophy credit (this explains why Burnout, and Bioshock are bigger). It seems around the 1200 mark is roughly the norm for a standalone game.

LBP - roughly 1220 plus 200 for DLC
Resistance 2 - roughly 1200.
Motorstorm 2 - roughly 1250.

That also seems to add up to about 200 points for every 10 dollars at retails. So DLC and PSN games probably get trophy credit according to that retail price.

I know I will never get 70% in PAIN.

But I am determined to get at least 50% in all my retail games, or most of the SP trophies. I dont have the time or patience for some crazy trophies like top MP rank and such (Warhawk, I am looking at you).

At least 70% for each game in my collection. That's enough to get multiple play-throughs but doesn't really require that I do any of the really crazy stuff. (I mean I got a full-time job, my play-time is limited so I don't want to spend the entire year trying to get a 100% in 5 games when I can get 70% in 15 games.

I assume you mean 70% of the number of trophies as well, rather than the completion percentage given to you by the PS3... For the average number of trophy points available in games (1200), 70% would mean you'd need to get all but two of the gold trophies (plus the platinum).

Got a whole bunch of trophies in Burnout tonight as a result of me deleteing my save file....Game still rocks all these months later.
