I imagine an alternative ending of Der Untergang with Churchill personally stepping through the ruins of Berlin, saving Hitler from his handgun and tells him that they are similar and then Hitler immediately regrets everything and lets himself be arrest. Then Churchill and Stalin go hand in hand to travel to Stuttgart. Also why did Kuvira get off easy? Fuck this show. Amon is still the best Villian

Beautiful.
Hmmm, for as stupid and illogical as the set up to The Colossus was, I am going to say that having that for the final showdown was the right move overall. It really is the Summer Blockbuster Entertainment Coefficient in full effect, none of it made sense, but it gave the grand finale the air of epicness to the scale it needed to be. Yea, it really speaks to how badly mangled Kuvira's character had gotten and also how weak she actually was, but I really do think this would have been a weaker pair of episodes without the giant robot.
Book 4 had already gone down that route beforehand, pretty much, so I'm not so upset. Just like you I think it had the Summer Blockbuster thing going on full blast, and that's all I was hoping for as this season wrapped up.
It was apparent early on we weren't going to get Book 3-level of amazing.
Haha perfect.I imagine an alternative ending of Der Untergang with Churchill personally stepping through the ruins of Berlin, saving Hitler from his handgun and tells him that they are similar and then Hitler immediately regrets everything and lets himself be arrest. JeremyI've got some good people fighting for it... Fingers crossed
This series will go down as having some of the most mismanaged characters I have ever seen. Nothing feels organic.
I also find it funny that the villain who arguably did the worst things arguably got off the easiest.

It's great to be vindicated. The Finale would of been cooler with the Spirit Korra Fighting the Giant Robot. Toa Tak was right.
Guys, I'm not ready to leave this universe behind. I just realised that as I watched the ending.

The villain who did the worst things was arguably unalaaq (or ozai if comparing all the series). The villain who got off the easiest is zaheer frolicking in the spirit worldThis series will go down as having some of the most mismanaged characters I have ever seen. Nothing feels organic.

So the takeaway I see is that implied, not explicit, same sex relations immediately make things, regardless of quality, ok because progressive. Double points for yuri since girl on girl is hot amirite.
Ah. Still, I fail to see the problem. What's wrong with dating someone your friend used to date?

goddam this why I can't take this thread's criticism seriously. If you're making Hitler comparisons that would be to ATLA Fire Nation. Ozai also had labor camps, super weapon, and you know, trying to conquer the whole world. Aang still stepped in and saved Ozai. The Kuvira comparison would be to Stalin aka trying to unite 'her people'. Korra also stepped in and saved Kuvira who at least showed some remorse while Ozai never did. But people still shits on Korra.
Asami dated Mako. Who then left her for Korra. When then left her for Asami again. Who then left her for Korra. Then they broke up and Asami and Korra suddenly become lesbians/bi and hook up.
Are there no other eligible people outside the group? Or is Team Avatar just a massive hookup zone? Especially since Mako didn't find anyone else, so those three have only ever been seen dating each other the only possible adjective to describe it is incestuous. Is that really the team dynamic that they wanted to portray? Or is it just a result of crappy writing?

Nobody shits on Korra for talking to Kuveira. People shit on the show for saying that it worked.
First of all, the scene was presented in such a way that you'd have to be in some serious denial to think that they were honestly trying to show that Korra and Asami were "just friends" at that point. Second, while the ending scene was the biggest "holy shit" moment for me of the entire franchise, I know full well that doesn't mean that all the show's missteps suddenly never happened. So the takeaway I see is that implied, not explicit, same sex relations immediately make things, regardless of quality, ok because progressive. Double points for yuri since girl on girl is hot amirite.
I won't deny that the love triangle had issues, but I'd argue that shoehorning in a new character for the sole purpose of giving them someone to date outside of their own group of friends would be even crappier writing. Are there no other eligible people outside the group? People just like to shit on things that don't 100% match their expectations. I was against Korrasami since the beginning (I just hate fan shipping in general), but since that's what Bryke wanted to do I'm fine with it.It only 'worked' after Korra had beaten and broken her first. Kuvira straight up said 'I can't match up to the power of the Avatar' not 'oh she sweet talked me'. This wasn't Naruto-style talk no justu ffs. Yet again I really have no idea what show you guys that rush to criticism are watching *shrug* at least I can finally be done with this thread. I'm out
Lol.Shinji Ikari is Kuvira confirmed.

I came to conclusion after re watching the final episode. We need more Avatar!
Yeah it's one of my favourite fictional universes out there. There is still so much untapped potential there to explore.
I'll give it to Bryke they created one rich universe.
For all the shit this series gets, it was a pretty good run. My favorite finale of the four seasons, no Deus Ex Jinora, no Villains defeating themselves, just the entire cast getting together to stop Kuvira.
*hugs both of you*
It'll be okay. We'll get by without more Avatar.![]()
Wasn't Book 3's finale the same way?
From what I understand the final bit wasn't in the storyboard for the episode and was added last minute. Nick might not have had to chance to axe it, assuming that they'd want to.It would be kinda funny if Nick actually made them censor it so that they weren't allowed to kiss considering Disney already had a lesbian couple on one of their shows, and Disney is usually the more conservative of the two.
Eh. I don't blame you.The sock thing ruined the season 3 finale for me, it was so out of place and made a joke of the whole thing.
