Yeah I think I'm gonna just stick to offline for a while. Or at the very least SoCal players. I can't adjust to each person's input delay like they're used to.

GGs man. Your Ness is killer.

Come on man don't bring those AiB/Nintendodojo johns here. GGs though. Very beast Diddy

edit: spinosauraus I can play a few now if you are still available. Do we have each other added?

So I opened up a Link amiibo yesterday and leveled him up to 50 via 8 player 99 min smashes i was not a part of. Came home to find him capped, beefed his attack to about 110 and fought him.

The dude's been wrecking me and my brother all night. We can beat him, and do roughly 65~% of the time but i was NOT expecting it to be this difficult. Yay amiibos!

No idea what AiB/Nintendodojo is supposed to mean, but okay.
Lag with you is bad man. It just is. Don't wish it was that way, and it doesn't make your Ness any less skilled--it's just an environment I don't enjoy and don't want to get used to. Affects my tournament play tremendously trying to get used to tech timings, combo timings, and dodging timings of shitty input delay.

I can understand your gripes. With Ness. Especially Shamrock's you are more susceptible to PK Thunder harassment.

Projectile based characters love lag matches because since precision doesn't matter they get a field advantage. Which is even bigger if you play a heavy like I do or have no projectiles. Like I do.

for real? I have one buddy that lives in the states while i'm in Europe! Great!!!

So the lag isn't that noticeable then for interregional matches? is it a smooth experience overall?

Yes you can play with your buddy. But maybe it's nice to know for you that when you play with a friend (registered as a WiiU friend), there is no possibility to play with randoms. When you decide to play a game with your friend, only other registered WiU friends are able to join your game
Yea I know it's kind of a bummer. But SmashGaf can be very helpful to fill up games up to 4 Players =)

Most time I've played with WiiU friends or Gaffers it's a very smooth experience.

I understand your gripe with lag. Trust me, I played online Brawl through its entire lifespan and the netcode was 10 times as bad. The thing is we all have to deal with delay and lag. Everyone on here. The lag will differ and range. In my opinion our lag was very good, very playable, in comparison to what I've experienced vs others. You can feel free to disagree, but if you choose to play Smash online, you have to understand that there will in all likelihood be lag of some sort, understand that both you and the other player is experiencing it, and to point it out after a few losses always seems like a sort of slap to the other player. "Ya you won, but you didn't really win". That's how it comes off, even if you didn't intend for it to sound that way.

And as for PK Thunder, vs you, and Magius, I can tell you that most of your problems had nothing to do with lag. It was your approach to defending it.

Well like I said. Not being able to concentrate hurts me. But it's more I need more matches in against your Ness to learn the matchup. Basically see what works and what doesn't.

SuperBowser lag is getting way too annoying and I know it's not optimal for the ranbat
let me know if you wanna resume later and just play some casuals

meh. i guess you won but those games were not enjoyable.

your internet is kinda bad. the lag spikes made it unplayable for me. i cant even recover because the lag spikes mean my moves dont get registered.

edit: yes i would prefer if we did our ranbat another time. these games werent good. i can deal with constant lag, but lag spikes are just not fun to play in for a fighting game =/

that.... is actually a factor, tx for letting me know... Yeah maybe i could recruit some ppl here for a couple games then, for now i have to convince said buddy to even give the game a shot ;) we are both getting our Wii Us this week.

yeah, not gonna take those on count, even the lag check match was annoying, I doubt is on my end, since I had some solid connection against others ranbat players

If lag is bad and both opponents reach that agreement then I feel it is fair to do a new set of matches for the ranbat.
I think that will lead to drama.

I would prefer it if people did a connection test before starting their matches. If you both agree that the connection is not good, then just don't play the ranbat matches then. Make the decision before you play, not after.

That said, if both players agree to not count their matches for whatever reason, that is their choice and I respect it.

You see the frustration with statements like these, correct? I was never bashing your ability to play the game, unlike you here. I was commenting on the terrible lag. One which you said was minimal, when it was atrocious. No lag spikes doesn't mean the lag isn't bad. Our first game days ago was worse cause it was unplayable. This game was better, but lag was still veeeeeery present. When I can't perform true combos that are very, very simple to execute, there's a problem. When I can't properly space and time techs and dodges, there's a problem.

You won the games. I'm not disputing that and I"m not whining that you won and I lost. I'm just providing you the reason why I won't play with you again. You're the one who wanted to try the games with me again after our horrible lag experience. I'm just letting you know it's still a horrible experience and I won't really feel up to experimenting with it in the future, yes?

well, we did the lag check and it was indeed laggy, since the beginning I knew this wasn't optimal, I guess he didn't see my post, no problem

I don't mind playing later, SuperBowser agreed with that too, hopefuly our connection is beter next time! nevertheless GGs SuperBowser

well i'll leave the option to SoldnerKei since he won. I know it's not a serious tournament :)

The lag spikes only started after the first two matches (we were 1-1 at this point), but I didn't feel I got to play to my potential due to the lag after that point. I SD'
ed randomly like 6 or 7 times over the final matches because I couldn't recover.

I suspect you will beat me tomorrow anyway Soldner :P but at least I'll give a better fight! I suspect the lag is due to distance, but I'm not sure why it spikes so much.

edit: yeah, sorry didn't see your first post. my computer is in a different room to my wii u. Let's try again tomorrow if that's good for you?

I'm not bashing you at all. Air dodging to the ground to avoid a pk thunder has nothing to do with lag, it has everything to do with you deciding to air dodge to the ground against a pkthunder, which is an automatic hit for pkthunder, based on the mechanics of this game. Most people do that right now because that was a legit way to avoid it in Brawl. Doesn't work in Smash4 though for the most part. I pointed out that specifically because you used it as an example of the lag, and your method to avoiding it really had nothing to do with lag.

Again, you can disagree with me about the lag in our games. If you think that is bad, then you probably won't want to play 90% or more of the online players. You should stick to local, as you eluded to earlier. I honestly don't care if you don't want to play me again. I am simply pointing out that your tone of your messages can be seen as a backhanded insult to your opponent.

He was probably trying to time an air doge where the animation is finished before he actually hits the ground, but the input lag makes him do it late enough where it causes an air dodge into the ground.
