yeah I got stuck with Bronze for whatever reason when I qualified, even though I was top of my team almost every game. Then you just can't budge. Even if I win 10 in a row I still barely level up each game. That system is broken. My friend who sucks and only played about 20 games started at silver.

Win based. I won 7/10 games and got placed in tier 2 Onyx.

Same situation i have a feeling im more Silver 3 or Gold 1~2 level but
didn't take those placement matches seriously so ended up with Bronze 1 :'(.

Still im surprised a game i played mediocre i went up 85 points and the game im doing my A game i go up 10~15 points..
Gonna miss the early access, can't wait for the MCC beta do.

I started in Bronze II, just hit Silver. It's entirely doable. The way the ranking system works, you get more points for beating higher skilled teams, and fewer for beating lower skilled ones.

You shouldn't be against higher skilled teams if the ranking is working how it should be. You should be pretty evenly matched.

I go 4.0 KD and win and go up +15

I go 1.1 KD top of my team and lose and go down -83. It's crap
 
So after playing for nearly 10 hours (I was addicted 😶)

Here's a few things I hope gets changed/fixed/added.

1. Who's talking on the mic? Most new games never make it clear who's talking...gamertag doesn't pop up even in the lobby or it's inaccurate.

2. Victory screens either removed or have custom cooler ones you can unlock. Better ones.

3. Be able to go to the post game review after a game ends and also check who's in your team during the intro of a game.

4. Better UI for the lobby...add some of that Halo music

5. Option to team up with other players after a game.

Pretty evenly matched =/= perfectly evenly matched. You're going to get some match ups where the enemy team is a little more skilled, and some where it's a little less.

I have no idea what's up with the -83, though. I've never seen anything like that; the biggest gain I've gotten was a +20, and the biggest loss a -13. -83 sounds like a bug.

I hope it's a bug. I still played well but my team sucked. And I haven't seen that huge a drop either. Still, +20 a match would take you 25 match wins to dig from a mid 2nd rank bronze to a silver. Without losing

Started at Gold 3 and made my way through Onyx into Semi Pro and then into Pro.

Back down at Semi Pro now though.

It "works" but I'm curious what the metrics are.

Hmm. Service record says I've won 30 out of 53 games, so something up with one of our numbers. Might be that I've gotten bigger bonuses before without noticing.

Where are you getting the 1000 points per Tier from?
 
I'm doing far better in Halo 5 than I am in Halo 2A. Now that I'm used to the controls, I'm loving the mobility. Also, I might be in the minority here, but I like that we can only hold 2 of each grenade (I think that change was made in Halo 3?).
 
29-4 not a bad way to cap things off! Can't quite break free through, just a few more games...

So far skill ranking hs seemed pretty solid. I've been rolling people with Iron/Bronze ranks but things get a lot tighter when a game fills up with a bunch of Onyx's. If they could expand the ranking system/add a little more depth to it I think it's be great.

I'm not, it was just conjecture. But the arrow barely moves for +15. So extrapolating, it takes a long time. Right now I'm at 22/44 wins, and 1.6KDA. But I'm Bronze II

And I've been playing mostly with randoms. Usually top or 2nd place.

Ahhh. You start at Bronze 1? Ever go any higher?

My guesstimate was that it's 100 points per sub ranks, so each tier would have 300 points. Tashi, Stinkles, don't suppose we could get any hard figures on that?

Nah I started at Bronze II. And it's just been a seesaw since then in Bronze.

2 I think. Maybe 3. Either way, I should not drop -90. For anything. I would have done better by just quitting. The next game was matched about the same and I did a lot more poorly, and I dropped -2.
 
This game feels so good. Aim assist in games (COD) have made my aiming weak but this has brought me back. I can't wait for the full beta to come!

Can't speak for them, but I keep accidentally crouching in the middle of a firefight 'cause I grip the controller too hard.

(And no, before somebody suggests it, clench protection doesn't actually help. Already have it on.)
