Metal Gear Solid V release date - 2/24/15? (From Reddit! Take w/ grain of salt.)

My whole family is in the room with me to celebrate christmas...and I'm just sitting here on my laptop waiting for the stream to start.
MGS is more important than gorram family-togetherness.

What's everyone's favorite MGS game? I mean, I can't do it myself but just wondering. Pretty lame and boring question, just trying to pass the time.

That framed poster with the profile of Big Boss is pretty damn cool.

MGS2 by a mile, most amazing game I've ever played.

A chair... a chair...
A CHAIR.

AMAZING trailer!!!!! I remember itching for MGS4 news way back then, and I was so giddy after seeing that!

Peace Walker. Currently it has the best gameplay in the series, even if it has the absolute worst story in any of the main games.

It was fun. I never did finish it though because of what you just said. For me MGS is a mix of fun gameplay and interesting storytelling. While they're hamfisted and convoluted as hell I've been able to follow them just fine and completely enjoy all the mystery, intrigue and even emotion. Peace Walker just never really hit those notes for me and I lost interest after a while. However, again, the game was really fun so I need to at least go back and finish it.

At the very least it will be something to do before MGSV comes out (lol)

MGS3 for me. I end up playing through 3 a few times every year. I just never get tired of it. Absolutely adore everything about it. Setting, characters, codec, bosses.

I love all the games though, not taking anything away from the rest of the series.

Hype levels are rapidly increasing. A release date would be fantastic, 'that person'... Kojima knows hot to get us all going.

I don't feel like looking for your comment to quote it but MGS2 is my favorite. I love the modern environment that it takes place in. And I nerd out whenever Otacon and Snake do their special bro hug.

I can't really pick one myself but MGS3 would be a formidable opponent if I were to fight them. The story and pacing and characters absolutely rock.

As a full package deal, MGS3. As pound for pound fantasticness, Ground Zeroes. I 100%'d it twice and not a moment of it felt like drudgery. I'm late to the series, only played through it for the first time this year, but I have yet to bring myself to replay any of the others.

Ground Zeroes is good, the visual and gameplay improvements are through the roof. However I had a really hard time adjusting to it, but that's a good thing. It just means that some evolution has taken place and I'm catching up to it.
