Soon there will be 20 million machines out there that will be capable of delivering a compiling and hopefully affordable VR experience.
Retail, online or both?FWIW, PS4 is actually sold out in some European stores at the moment.
How much were PS3 and 360 at after the same amount of time each?
Retail, online or both?
Sony trying to the good news out in front of a potentially underwhelming NPD month?
Not the best ever? PS4 has broken every record so far IIRC.
But yeah, not the best ever. lol
Are you talking about the gap between the PS4 and Wii U?
Retail, online or both?
This just confirms what I already knew... this generation is over, better luck next time Microsoft and Nintendo.
- The Xbone will be lucky to have these numbers this time next year
- The Wii U will never reach this number
That gif kinda looks like a PS4.The Return of the King

Amazing how playing it safe won this generation. The rest just blundered straight out of the gate.
We'll see how much software it has in 2015.
Depends on if MS makes their holiday pricecut permanent at some point. I think Sony will do a pricecut around the holidays for sure.think Sony will cut the price sometime this year? I Don't.
It took 5 years for the GameCube and OG Xbox to sell around 25 million units lifetime. And now the PS4 in 13 months is a stone throw away from 20 million.
That's ridiculous.
That would be leaving money on the table, though.
81m games were also sold (physical and digital).
Dec 31 2006 - Dec 31 2007 the Wii sold 20.14m
It really depends on sales, they may do approaching Christmas but it's quite possible they won't need to drop the price. Unless they're forced to do otherwise by poor sales they'll probably just throw some extra stuff inside the box and keep the price and keep raking in the profits.Wooow when I saw the chartz estimates at 18m I though it couldn't be right... but damn.

Yeah, and I want to see what was the situation, both in terms of software numbers and tie-ratios, for other consoles at the same time after the release, so we get a fair comparison.
We also learn that 81.8 million PS4 games were sold counting both retail and digital sales as of January 4th. Of those, 17.8 million copies were moved during the latest Holiday Season.
Shipped.
So the PS4 was at 5.7 million sold in the USA at the end of November, correct? Even if we guess one million for december that brings us to 6.7 million, and would be about a 36 percent share. I really would love to see European numbers.
Shipped.
4.1 million sold in the holiday season alone, which ran from November 23 - January 3 in America, Europe and Latin America. For Japan and Asia that period was November 24 - January 4th.
