Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Awesome thread!

I just purchased my first ever Fightstick from Amazon...the Qanba Q4 (Black)...and it's kind of ridiculous how excited I am to get this thing (it should arrive today sometime).

I have a few questions for the arcade stick gurus in here:

1) One of the Amazon reviewers indicated he "sent his Q4 out to get it modded to be compatible with the Xbox One". Soooo I'm curious if anyone can clue me in as to how/where to get that done and how much it might cost?

2) Is it also possible to get it modded to work on the PS4? If yes that'd be awesome and would basically make this thing the ultimate last/current gen all-in-one arcade stick!

3) Does anyone have any concrete info or even rumors about Qanba releasing a Xbone/PS4 hybrid stick anytime soon? Basically I'm wondering if I made a mistake buying the Q4 and maybe should have waited for the Q5 (or whatever they will call it) and then maybe had it modded to be backwards compatible with last gen (360/PS3) instead? It would seem that the end result is basically the same, but I'd assume that a newer "Q5" model would probably have design improvements and most likely cost about the same, so given a choice I'd rather buy the newer model if/when one becomes available....

Side Note: Hedging my bets, I went ahead and already ordered the ConsoleTuner Titan One which should allow me to use the arcade stick and one of my steering wheels on most of my consoles and PC, albeit with some fiddling....

This is so much bulslhit. I can't get a legit answer from customer service. Markman is saying one thing, they say something completely different. I ask to speak to a manager and still get told I have a preorder and that my card will be charged when the stick ships.

I've seen people posting pictures online and saying that they have already received their GGXrd sticks they ordered last week so I am guessing if you don't have confirmation or the stick by now you are SOL. The charge authorization disappearing too sounds like the final nail in the coffin. Sorry to hear you didn't get your stick I feel your pain.
 
Do we have a comprehensive list of online stores that sell the TE2 internationally?

So far there's Nippon-Yasan, Play Asia and Akishop. Am I missing anything? Trying to get one sorted for my friend.
 
I only have two complaints with the TE2 I possess, 1 is that the plastic on top moves slightly (not a big deal) and that I REALLY hate gloss plastic, I've only owned the stick for a week and it already looks gross.

If MCZ manufactures any matte plastic parts that can replace these I will love them forever lol.

Otherwise, a really amazing stick, worth the price.
 
Hey MarkMan is there any update on when USF4 stick pre-orders are going up? You said if not yesterday then today I just want to make sure I can get my order in ASAP so I don't miss out again.

We're working on it. Hoping to get it up today but right now it's looking like sometime tomorrow. I'll post here when they are live.

Huh, guess I missed that the first time I looked it up. Looks pretty good too, so I guess I'll just try to jump on the next wave of preorders (deciding between the USF4 or Mad Catz sticks now) and buy the black sides later on. It's awesome that these things are so customizable.
 
Been trying to look for the Razer Atrox Xbox One stick. Razer doesn't have any and today was their big 50% off sale. Also Amazon listings are expensive! I guess I will never see em ever.

I was looking to get one to add to the collection but I wasn't able to find any on their website when the sale went up. They either had limited stock or pulled them from the store until after the sale. It's a nice looking stick and it'd give me a reason to turn on my Xbone and play KI.
 
Does Mad Catz put a pre-authorization charge for the full amount when preordering a stick? Thanks!

Edit: Looking for other products that are for pre-order I found this: "Please note some banks require a pre-authorization of funds for pre-orders placed at store.madcatz.com". I guess I will see when the TE2 comes up for pre-order tomorrow!

Ditto, working on the art for the USF4 stick right now. Damn disconnects were crimped on most of the buttons, wouldn't get them off at all so I'm having to solider the leads. Not sure what I'm going to do to the GG stick yet. its just nice to be able to have two players now.

There's actually a button for the QDs to get them to slip off. I had the same problem.

Ah well I'm screwed now as far as this stick is concerned, ill just have to solider them on the new buttons so its not a huge deal. Ill keep this in mind when I start on the GG stick though.

PS4 VLX is the grail for me, but another V.S. stick would be really cool too.

Edit: just a PSA for anyone with a PS3 brawl stick, Amazon's giving out $50 for trade-ins, which seems pretty darn good to me.
 
Guys. Just want to apologize for the experience with Mad Catz recently. We stand by our products (I really think they're great), but want the entire purchase experience to meet that same standard. Please have a good rest of the week!

Yeah, the customer service side has been a huge pain, but the only reason I'm willing to go through the trouble is the quality of the sticks. TE2 is super nice. Can't wait to see what you drop next.

PS: Do want Noir panel for my TE2.

I have a question about modding, maybe anyone saw the solutions how to hame stick heavier. I play with stick on my knees and most of the time its stable, but when I began to execute movies as fast as I can stick slides from side to side

I don't know about adding weight to a stick, but have you considered using foam padding attached with adhesive instead? It's probably an easier mod and I've found the foam does a pretty good job keeping a stick in place even on my lap.

Thanks for the heads up, I actually managed to get a preorder in. :) I may cancel in favor of the Mad Catz version, but seeing as you can just customize the artwork and side panels that may not even be necessary. Just in case though, how exactly would one cancel an order from the site? I didn't see any buttons on my order page.

Oh, and one more quick question, but will the Mad Catz stick have the exact same colored sides as the USF4 stick? I can't really tell, but the USF4 sides looked a bit lighter to me in the pictures I've seen.
