Its sales have been really odd. It went from having a huge boost Nov->Dec to the reverse last year. I still think it'll break 100k, but you can never know

Last January, the XB1 entry price was at $500 and the PS4 was at $400. This January, the XB1 entry price is at $400 and the PS4 is at $400. Free games of ACU and TLOU mixed in there somewhere. Would seem to make some difference, unless the thought is that XB1 will crash harder than it did last January.

It should crash. Mostly because in the consumer mind they see the x1 price being less than $350. That is thanks to ms strategy during the holidays, potential buyers are going to hold on their purchase mostly because they know for sure a better deal will come i. The future, kinda like how ms had to drop the Kinect to drop the price to $400 last year because the deals where devaluating the console every month even more.

Not sure if it really impacted the Xbox One last year like it did the Wii U in 2013, but the January following hardware launches has been impacted by returns of people who were trying to sell units via eBay and other means and were unable to do so. One retailer actually reported negative Wii U sales the January after launch because of this reason.

Lots of weird things in launch year data.

Last year creamsugar gave us several LTD updates for games launched in 2013.

In my head I was thinking Gen 8 only for some reason but yes the Vita makes the Wii U look like the PS4 in comparison so I suppose the correct statement would've been "That is like the fourth most unlikely outcome possible given sales history". Although that has far less of a ring too it
